The time is now, and our planet needs you. We are seeking a new Head of Philanthropy (Individuals) who will lead on some of our most significant relationships with philanthropists and family foundations. Your role will build long term commitment and inspire them to do more to save our planet. This is a senior role and your contribution will play a key part in the restoration of nature that is the focus of our new strategy.

You will take a strategic lead in developing new relationships and delivering excellent stewardship to existing major donors to hit or exceed ambitious financial targets. Managing a personal portfolio of relationships, you will also provide leadership and coach colleagues to deliver excellence in major gift fundraising and support our growth strategy.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues in our programmes team to help produce visionary propositions around our strategic priorities that win support and influence funding decisions and look to acquire significant support for specific initiatives. Importantly, you will ensure that our philanthropic donors feel engaged and informed and enjoy an outstanding experience as a supporter of WWF.

To play your part in saving our planet, you will probably be educated to degree level and have substantial experience in fundraising and a track record of success in securing significant gifts. A consummate networker and influencer, a diplomat and persuader with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, you will excel at building relationships. You will know what a winning bid or proposal looks like. You should have some management experience or be able to demonstrate an ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop individuals to work to the best of their ability. You must be comfortable working in a range of cultural environments and international contexts with a willingness to travel. Of course, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the natural world and WWF’s core mission too.
