To assist and deputise for the head chef and supervise and train residents allocated to the kitchen as part of their drug/alcohol recovery programme, providing meaningful and challenging work for them. To ensure that nutritious meals are provided and that food hygiene and Health and Safety protocols are adhered to. You will have relevant qualifications for working in catering or demonstrable cooking experience; the sensitivity to work alongside men in their recovery journeys; the ability to manage your own workload and stay calm under pressure and a solid Christian faith and the ability to be an appropriate role model to our client group.
As Yeldall Manor is a Christian organisation operating a Christian programme, it is an occupational requirement (in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010) that the successful candidate is a committed and practising Christian. This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If you are in recovery, a minimum of two years’ demonstrable clean time is required.
