To carry out maintenance and repairs to the facilities at Yeldall Manor, using your own trade skills and those of sub-contractors and volunteers. To supervise and train, with the assistance of the Facilities Manager, residents working in the maintenance department as part of the drug/alcohol recovery programme, providing meaningful and challenging work for them. To assist in the co-ordination of Yeldall Manor’s planned maintenance programme, keeping this programme up to date and maintaining records of work carried out.
You will have: practical skills and a desire to use and share them with others; the sensitivity to work alongside men in their recovery journeys; the ability to manage your own workload and stay calm under pressure; a solid Christian faith and the ability to be an appropriate role model to our client group.
As Yeldall Manor is a Christian organisation operating a Christian programme, it is an occupational requirement (in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010) that the successful candidate is a committed and practising Christian. This position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If you are in recovery, a minimum of two years’ demonstrable clean time is required.
