Project Assistant (Weekends) – Brighton Young Families Project

£19,595 per annum (pro rata)
£5,225 per annum (actual)
An exciting opportunity within our supported housing service for young families in Brighton has become available. We are recruiting a Project Assistant to work weekend shifts at our Brighton base which houses 8 young families in low to medium supported accommodation.
As a service, we provide a safe and caring environment for young families, with their aspirations and desires always at the forefront of the support we offer them. Overall, our service seeks to increase the aspirations and motivations of families to take up education, employment and training opportunities and improve family function with children feeling more secure and parents confident in their parenting abilities.
The team work in a holistic manner, adopting a psychologically-informed approach to support young parents to transition into independent living throughout Brighton & Hove.
You must have some experience working with young families, particularly those considered vulnerable or with multiple and complex needs. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all residents and visitors to the project receive a friendly and professional welcome. You will support the effective running of the project, dealing with face to face and telephone enquiries, processing rent payments and supporting the wider staff team to help young families manage their behaviour and maintain their tenancies. You will also be responsible for the safety and security of the building and the residents.
There is a strong element around data recording using a variety of data management systems, we require staff who are confident in their ability to adapt easily to these systems.
The available shifts are on Saturdays & Sundays 5 hours per day.
We are happy to consider applications from people interested in a job share to work just one 8-hour shift per week, instead of two, or working alternative weekends.
