YMCA Humber have exclusively retained On Line People to recruit their new CEO

 

YMCA Humber is a charity that specialises in supported accommodation for over 100 young and vulnerable people in communities around North East Lincolnshire. It also provides education and training, mental health services and youth activities to support people throughout the Humber area.

 

This is a newly defined role at YMCA Humber, created in the midst of a new, exciting era for the organisation; the opening of an £8.5 million state-of-the-art facility in September 2021 has greatly improved and expanded the services and reach of the charity across the region.

 

The new building provides high-quality, aspirational accommodation for over 70 young people. A community cafe serves local businesses, community groups and the public. An exhibition area allows local artists and community groups to display their work. A multi-purpose hall enables health and wellbeing activities, conferences, meetings, performances and events – all these facilities are utilised by and marketed to local businesses and the wider community.

 

In addition to the new building at Freeman Street, YMCA Humber also has an additional six properties within North East Lincolnshire that are used to support care leavers, Housing First residents and community living programmes.  

 

You will be joining and leading YMCA Humber at its most exciting time in living memory. As CEO, you will lead the organisation in achieving its vision and creating lasting value for customers and local communities. As well as managing YMCA Humber’s accommodation, you will need the vision and drive to develop the organisation’s already established youth, mental health and sports provision, and explore new partnership opportunities to enhance these existing services within the region.

 

As the most senior officer, you will work with the support of the board of trustees to deliver its long-term objectives, which focus on sustainable business growth, excellent customer service, valuable partnerships and a people-centred culture of inclusivity and fairness. You will oversee a team of circa 65 employees, be responsible for the organisation's budget, business plan and legal compliance, and give strategic direction to the organisation.

 

As the successful candidate, you will be a natural leader and boast a strong and diverse corporate career background to date. You will possess a solid and successful track record of running businesses and thrive on social interaction; it will be a key requirement to lead and motivate the senior management team, instil and maintain the confidence and support of the board of trustees, whilst being seen as the organisation’s figurehead by all staff and stakeholders.

 

Above all else, you will be excited at the prospect of leading such a unique organisation and be inspired by the values, aims and objectives of YMCA Humber. You will thrive on professional job satisfaction and working at the heart of the local community. The salary for the position is likely to be around £60–65,000.
