The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Energy Adviser, to work on either a full or part time basis. Job share applications are also welcome. This role provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile amongst regional stakeholders whilst delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes that is experienced by over 6.5 million households in the UK.
NEA’s Energy Advisers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident. Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups. They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities. Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed
Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others. Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.
You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions, however we would particularly welcome applications from those living in Kent and the South-East. The post holder will be responsible for giving comprehensive benefit entitlement advice and support to householders. The post holder will obtain relevant information about a client’s circumstances and offer accurate guidance about potential eligibility for additional benefit entitlements. This will include the completion of application forms as appropriate. Advice will be given over the phone, via online contact and in face-to-face settings where appropriate.
What you will need to succeed
You will have a good understanding of Welfare Rights, including entitlements, systems, claim processes and current legislation and practices. Demonstrable experience of providing advice via telephone and face to face.
You will need good organisational skills, excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of the needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders.

Our Associate Property Advisers are all extraordinary people: senior property professionals. As part of this team, you will be assigned projects to lead on or supporting other members. About the Team
This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh.

About the role and team
Working within the wider Supporter Acquisition and Retention teams, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging onboarding journeys for Shelter supporters, ensuring engagement is high throughout. The team deliver a range of services, including training on housing and homelessness prevention, housing law consultancy, online resources and projects to support professionals working directly with people at risk of homelessness to get positive outcomes. The team covers all of England and works closely with teams including Learning and Organisational Development, Training and Support, Business Support, as well as our frontline Services and Legal Services.
About the role
Knowledge is power and we run over 1,600 training courses that attract 40,000 delegates each year. Your challenge, together with three other Operations Assistants will be to take responsibility for the administration and operational delivery of all of our courses, including face-to-face training and online via webinars and e-learning. We’ll rely on you to ensure that each course runs smoothly, all delegates and trainers have the instructions and information they need and that the highest level of customer care is provided. About the Team
The Outbound Supporter Services team is based in Sheffield, in the same office as our free national housing advice helpline. The team does vital work engaging new and existing supporters, educating them on Shelter’s fight against social injustice. The team is responsible for promoting Shelter’s work, raising awareness of housing and homelessness issues, and enhancing the organisation’s ability to both recruit and retain supporters.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for many supporters seeking information about Shelter’s work; you will have excellent communication and administrative skills and a real interest in housing issues, as well as an understanding of how the Outbound Supporter Services Team impacts supporter retention. Your tasks will include calling supporters to welcome them to the organization, thanking them for choosing to support us, undertaking quality control surveys and ensuring the accuracy of supporter data.
As a Tele-Fundraising Intern, you will promote Shelter, raise awareness of housing and homelessness issues and enhance Shelter’s ability to retain our supporters. This is a diverse role and you will be expected to respond to enquiries about Shelter’s work and action supporter requests. Purpose of The role
To support Habitat for Humanity GB’s (HFHGB) vision of a decent home for everyone, the Director of Development is accountable for leading the development, implementation and performance monitoring of our partnerships, resource mobilisation, communication, and engagement strategies. The Director of Development is also responsible for leading a high performing team to deliver those strategies, and working collaboratively across HFHGB, the international Habitat network (HFHI), and with external partners.
Key responsibilities include the development of Habitat for Humanity’s positioning, fundraising, engagement and strategic partnerships with individuals, trusts, foundations, and corporates, including funds that are blended with institutional and investment income. Strategies will be delivered in a way that is sustainable and high impact, always aligned with our strategy and Habitat for Humanity’s mission. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Development works to ensure the impact, sustainability, diligence and productivity of the organisation, including engaging in organisational transformation, within the framework of a robust people and culture approach.
Main Responsibilities
1.Strategic development and leadership:
· Design, deliver and evaluate/adapt the partnerships and fundraising strategy, setting ambitious and achievable targets to increase impact, through growing income, mobilising other resources and increasing engagement for HFHGB.
· Design and deliver an impactful, opportunistic and responsive brand and communication extension strategy designed to grow the profile of HFHGB with key target audiences.
· Lead fundraising and partnership development across the organisation, leveraging the skills, networks and assets we have from across HFHGB and the Habitat Network to support our strategic goals.
· Maintain awareness of the relevant trends to inform organisational and team strategic planning. Create and maintain a learning culture which identifies opportunities to innovate and adapt.
· Engage with HFHI and the wider sector to inspire, innovate and influence the development of HFHGB partnerships and pro grammes, e.g. learning from other countries, joint approaches to multi-national and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
· Design, deliver and evaluate/adapt the communications and engagement strategy, focussing on activities which will enable HFHGB to deliver it’s strategy through impactful communication, increased brand, visibility, and cross-audience engagement.
2. Income and budget management, reporting and monitoring:
· Set quality standards and meaningful KPIs to encourage ownership and accountability within your team, and effectively monitor progress towards agreed targets.
· Work with the Director of Impact to oversee the active management of the prospect pipeline for the organisation, ensuring it is robust, strategically aligned, has a good spread across different income sources, and allows us to bring in the level and type of funding required.
· Be accountable for fundraising targets against agreed budgets, maintaining an excellent understanding of income (committed or expected).
· Work closely with the Director of Finance & Operations to track performance, and contribute to high quality reporting, income forecasting and budget management.
3. Leading external partnerships and relationships:
· Lead and model development activities with priority prospects, partners and influencers and work with the team to identify new income streams and opportunities.
· Lead and model productive partnering and relationships with Corporate partners, including the cultivation of new prospects.
· Act as senior relationship lead for prioritised high value relationships in coordination with other members of the team.
· Support relationship building with High-Net-Worth Individuals, Trusts and Foundations.
· Work closely with the Director of Impact and other colleagues to ensure the development of high-quality proposals, propositions and reports which leverage opportunities across institutional and non-institutional prospects and contribute to our credibility as a trusted and impactful organisation.
· Develop the profile and positioning of HFHGB in line with the strategic vision of a creative impact partner, among the public, media and supporters/prospects, through the development of resources, online presence and attendance at key events/networks.
· Ensure integrated stewardship, engagement and relationship development plans and activities for all supporters, and support for renewal and upgrade of engagement.

Overview
The Choir with No Name runs choirs and builds joyful singing communities with homeless and marginalised people, around the UK. Currently, there are six choirs: in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Coventry, Brighton (run in partnership with BHT Sussex) and Cardiff (run in partnership with The Wallich). We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Our choir members are people who have experienced homelessness, or who are simply going through a tough time in their lives.

We have recently received funding from the National Lottery to build our participation programme to support choir members and people from the wider community work together to create safe, accessible and inclusive choir communities, as well as contribute to the national direction of the Choir with No Name. We are looking for someone to take on this exciting new role to lead the development of our participation programme at a national level as our Community Participation Manager. This role will work with our six current choirs and build a foundation for all future choirs.

- Carry out a skills audit across all our choirs to understand what skills are needed to run each choir with greater involvement from choir members, facilitated by choir managers. This will include discovering what skills choirs have amongst their existing member and volunteer communities, and what support and training could be shared.
- Research other organisations’ participation frameworks and volunteer programmes to identify ways in which the Choir with No Name can learn from others in the sector.
- Identify a range of tasks, roles, and responsibilities (being clear about the distinction between the these) that members and people in the community can take part in to support the running of the choir, along with the training they would need to do so.
- Identify healthy ways to step down from roles and responsibilities.
- Design and pilot a framework of roles, responsibilities and tasks, and associated training and support, before rolling out nationally across all our choirs.
Existing volunteer programme
- Evaluate our existing volunteering programme, listening to our volunteer team about their experience as a volunteer, identifying areas for development.
- Develop the existing volunteer programme to support and value volunteers and to incorporate our new approach to co-creation and co-production.
- Work with our existing volunteers in a transition from the current programme into the participation framework, whilst continuing communicating the value and importance of volunteers within the Choir with No Name.
Manage volunteer communications
- Develop and manage accessible communications to ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools they need to do their roles (training, policies, support) and feel valued (thanks and recognition for their hard work). This could include:
- A regular email to volunteers
- An online portal for volunteers to access whenever they need
- Regular meetings for volunteers to keep them up to date with what is going on in the organisation and to share practice
Volunteer recruitment, induction, training and data
- Lead on national volunteer recruitment and support local recruitment carried out by Choir Managers.
- Develop, with choir members and volunteers, a training programme to support roles within choir. This training should come in a range of forms, and where possible, led or informed by choir members.
- Manage volunteer data, including developing our data management system (currently Monday, but we are considering using Plinth), ensuring:
- Inductions are completed consistently and reviewed for long term volunteers.
- Training is implemented and kept up to date.
- Volunteer data is managed in a central database so we can effectively communicate, track and understand our impact.
- Reporting on volunteer numbers and other information is provided to the Senior Management Team and board.

- Support the development of the Board Experience Programme and the Member Advisory Panel, led by the CEO and Head of Programmes.

As a Corporate Fundraiser you be for planning, managing, implementing, and delivering the Corporate Income Generation Target. As Shelter’s Brand Manager, you will act as brand guardian, acting as the first point of contact for any brand queries and working collaboratively with teams across the organisation in the development of both public and internal-facing communications, products, and projects. You will provide ongoing support for teams on how best to leverage the brand to drive maximum engagement, ensuring that all work is aligned to our brand and strategy and is informed by evidence and insight.
You will be instrumental in implementing the cross-organisational brand strategy, working closely alongside the Senior Brand Marketing Manager to develop and deliver training and inductions for internal teams, external agencies, and partners. Alongside this, you will proactively develop and implement ways of working and processes, as well as developing and distributing brand resources and assets, to ensure that teams are equipped to deliver work more efficiently and effectively.
About you
Well-versed in brand management, you will possess a clear understanding of the importance of strategy, knowledge of how to embed and maintain a brand, and how to ensure consistency across multiple channels, projects and products. Alongside your ability to confidently manage a diverse set of cross-organisational stakeholders and teams, you will be an impressive communicator, able to engage stakeholders through both verbal and written comms as well as via workshops and presentations. Strategically minded with a keen creative eye, you will have a proactive and solutions-focussed approach to your work, and be able to demonstrate project management skills alongside an understanding of the importance of insight and how it informs plans and activity.
