Yorkshire Cancer Research is entering an exciting period in its development. As part of this we are expanding our team at our Head Office and a number of new roles are being created. As such, we are now looking for a Digital Assistant to support our Finance & Corporate Services team.

The Role

As a Digital Assistant, you will support the whole digital team with all administrative tasks as well as supporting the delivery of digital and technology projects. This includes managing our new starter and leavers processes, acting as the point person for our third party IT partner, assisting in the delivery of digital skills training and development, helping users to get the best out of the tools provided to them, ordering and logging new equipment and database administration.


Supporting the Digital & Technology Manager, you will help us to provide digital systems, tools, and capabilities to enable our colleagues, volunteers and other stakeholders to be the best they can be and ultimately help the Charity delivery against its strategy – to reduce cancer deaths in Yorkshire by 2000 by 2025.
 

Specifically, you will:


- Provide our colleagues with the equipment, software and training to allow them to perform their role as optimally as possible from wherever they need to be. This will involve liaising with our IT Partner to order equipment and set up new accounts, manage the process when somebody leaves the Charity, and liaising with telephony providers.

- Act as a first escalation point when your colleagues are not getting what they need from our IT Provider or any other third party provider. You will help colleagues and trustees with simple technology challenges.

- Play a key part in contributing to the creation of digital & technology policies, processes and training materials so all staff understand what good looks like and support the Head of Digital in evolving the Digital Roadmap, keeping it up to date and circulating as needed.

- Be a Microsoft Teams administrator, coordinating the set up and administration of Microsoft Teams and Channels including managing external guest access. You’ll also coordinate the set-up of new SharePoint sites and permissions groups working with our IT Provider and keep track of all third-party tools and software in use including users and admins e.g. Trello, Miro, AirTable etc.

- Provide administrative support to the other members of the Digital team to enable them to work as effectively as possible. This will involve coordinating diaries, producing agendas, scheduling resource, updating documentation etc.

 


About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of a passion for digital and technology.

- A good understanding of the digital and technology landscape.

- A basic understanding of digital transformation.

- Strong digital and IT skills with excellent written communication skills.

- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology related subject or proven experience in a similar role at a similar level is desirable.

- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders and excellent organisational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines are desirable characteristics.
