Yorkshire Cat Rescue is a regional charity, offering a half-way home to unwanted and stray cats and kittens. The charity has a no kill policy. It operates from a purpose-built centre at Cross Roads. Funding comes from donations, adoption fees and the charity’s shops, with very little income from fundraising. This role will be to develop income from that source and to increase individual donations.
A career development opportunity exists to join our charity and nurture and build relationships with local people who support us at a time of growth and development.
Yorkshire Cat Rescue is looking for an experienced fundraiser/relationship manager. This is a part-time role of between 24 and 32 hours per week and will involve some weekend and evening work.
This is an exciting opportunity to bring your experience and knowledge of fundraising into a future management role and provides an opportunity to play an active role in steering the direction of Yorkshire Cat Rescue’s fundraising, with an opportunity to mould and sculpt the future of fundraising. Your input will provide an income which will help cats and kittens for years to come.
You will be expected to develop events; create engaging fundraising campaigns; recruit new donors and nurture existing donors; encourage community and corporate support; establish volunteer fundraisers; and explore ways to maximise return on investment. The post holder will be able to grow their role.
The key to success will be to utilise your strong relationship building skills, working with supporters and volunteers to understand their motivations for supporting the charity and develop them further. Experience managing and motivating volunteers would also therefore be an advantage.
You will achieve ambitious targets by generating and managing fantastic supporter relationships, proactively building pipelines and securing new business.
You’ll be responsible for generating income from corporate partners and community supporters. You will recruit, retain, motivate and develop fundraising groups and volunteers.
