Location: Dual located between Lingfield, Surrey and Young Epilepsy’s London office (Victoria).
Salary: Up to £80,000, depending on skills and experience.
Young Epilepsy, the charity that works to create a society in which young people living with epilepsy can thrive and fulfil their potential, is seeking a Director of Fundraising and Communications to lead, develop and deliver their fundraising, communications and marketing strategies and to grow national reach and profile.
Epilepsy affects almost six in every 1000 children and young people, and is one of the most common serious long-term conditions in childhood. Young Epilepsy is the leading charity helping affected young people and is at the forefront of advocating for them for positive changes in attitudes across society and towards greater understanding of the condition.
The organisation is looking for a dynamic, driven leader to oversee delivery of the charity’s existing fundraising plans and generate new funding opportunities through networking and developing partnerships. Using partnerships and philanthropy to secure transformational gifts will be a key part of the role to triple current levels of income over the next 3-5 years. The role will also require developing a PR and social media strategy as well as an integrated communications plan, and identifying a new range of income streams, with a particular emphasis on using digital technology.
Young Epilepsy are looking for demonstrable experience of working at a senior strategic and operational level in fundraising, marketing and communications, as well as a significant track record in securing major funding partnership including companies and philanthropy/major donors. You must have a good understanding of fundraising strategies and models to increase income with a broad experience of implementing them. You will also possess excellent communication, digital and relationship-building skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Finally, you will be a self-starter that can bring a positive, proactive, entrepreneurial and commercial approach to the role.
