Job Description:        Communication Officer

Line managed by:      Development Manager   

Salary:                        £25,000 pro rata  

Hours:                        22.5 Hours per week

Base:                          80% Remote - 20% Based Hammersmith.

                                    Equipment will be provided where required.

Start date:  July 2021 (start date can be negotiable for the right candidate)  

 

Young Hammersmith and Fulham Foundation are the leading Children and young people organisation in the borough and currently support over 90 youth organisations, and are looking for an enthusiastic Communication Officer to join our team. 

The role of the Young H & F Communication Officer is to support and maintain all digital communication, social media, and marketing platforms.

Main areas of responsibilities will include:

  • Development of the Young H&F website to support our 80+ members in using the website to share accurate and engaging information about their services and projects.
  • Promoting the website and members’ activities to a wide audience via social media and electronic communications. The primary audiences are children and young people, their families and professional who engage with them.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to engage key audiences onto the website.
  • Managing social media channels
  • Creating and coordinating content for social media channels.
  • Managing content for Young H & F weekly newsletter.
  • Provide report on the impact of website and social media engagement.
  • Analyse data from on all communication channels.
  • Support with promotion of Young H&F projects and research.        

 

What does success look like for this role?

The Young H&F website is an effective and well-used search tool, support mechanism and portal for member services, providing an interactive picture of needs and tracking gaps in quality and service offers in the borough.

Specific targets:

  • 75% of Young H&F members advertising services on the portal with swift engagement of new members as they join.
  • Improvement on baseline in statistics and website usage.
  • Development of the review system for services / projects in conjunction with the website developer.
  • An increase of traffic to social media pages, specifically Twitter and Instagram,
  • Weekly newsletter with a high open and click-through rate.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Good level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise & work across multiple projects.  
  • Good experience of managing social media platforms.  
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and IT.

Desirable

  • Use of CRM database systems e.g., Salesforce.
  • Creative skills and innovative ideas
  • An understanding of voluntary sector
  • Interest for children and young people having the best start in life.
  • Canva software.
