Job Description

UK charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation takes action against the effects of childhood liver disease, providing information, emotional support, research funds and a voice for all affected. Please find out more about the difference we make on our website.

CLDF are looking to recruit a Young People’s Officer experienced in engaging with young people and developing and delivering unique projects at a national level. The service offers young people living with a liver condition a chance to increase their confidence and reduce social isolation, as well as supporting them to achieve their aspirations, as they transition into adulthood. This is achieved through residentials, communication via our online community, as well as a range of activities including advice, support and information.

The Young People’s Officer will be required to travel, ensuring CLDF’s services remain visible to young people. The post holder will form and build on relationships with young people, as well as young adults diagnosed with a liver disease during childhood (up to the age of 25). The focus of the Young People’s service is to create opportunities that empower young people to take control of their lives, cope with chronic illness and signpost them to more appropriate services through a holistic approach.

The Young People’s Officer also works with professionals that support young people. The post holder will continue to develop these relationships so that where possible, all young people living with a liver condition have access to these services.

If you have skills in developing innovative ways of reaching young people and are hard-working and tenacious with an outgoing attitude, then we are interested in hearing from you. Weekend working and travelling nationwide will be required as part of this role.

Please note that a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) check will be undertaken.

Interviews for the post will take place on Wednesday 3rd May at our offices in Birmingham city centre, a 5-10 minute walk from Snow Hill and New Street stations.

The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
