Job description

We are looking for an accomplished fundraiser to lead our Development team as our new Development Director.

A registered charity and theatrical powerhouse, the Young Vic is synonymous with inclusivity, accessibility and creativity. We create performances that catalyse debate and are priced accessibly for our audiences, giving 10% of tickets away to those who experience barriers to engaging with the arts. We are deeply rooted in our local communities of Lambeth and Southwark, through Taking Part, at the same time as being internationally recognised for productions made with the world’s finest performers and creative teams. We are also proud to develop the next generation of emerging talent through our national, free scheme: the Director’s Program.

We are seeking an individual who can help us build on recent fundraising success, generate new ideas across 3 strands of our work (individual giving, corporate giving and statutory and trusts), update and implement our overall fundraising strategy and work collaboratively and closely with our executive teams, our trustees and Development Board to ensure that the strongest approaches possible are made.

The role will be building on a strong base of support from trusts, foundations, individual and corporate which last year totalled in the region of £1.4 million. You will be joining the Young Vic at a critical yet exciting time for our fundraising, as we look to review our fundraising strategy, drawing on our learning since Covid-19, supported by our Development Board and trustees. We are also beginning to plan for the next Arts Council National Portfolio round and engaging with the Let’s Create strategy.
