You’ll be a highly skilled communicator and storyteller looking to make your mark in a creative communications role with real social purpose and capacity for growth. You’ll recognise the huge potential to be unlocked across Youth Music’s digital platforms and have strategic ideas about how to achieve this in partnership with young people. You’ll be someone who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment and is inspired by the idea of empowering young people to tell the stories of their lives in music. You’ll have an instinct for great content, be a music lover who’s up-to-date on the latest trends in youth culture and technologies, and you’ll be passionate about nurturing and releasing the creative potential of the next generation.
About the role
The Digital Content Editor will be joining Youth Music at a pivotal time, helping to evolve and shape our outward-facing communications. You’ll play a central role in growing audience engagement through creative content development and marketing. Over the past few years we have developed our communications and brand, putting the content and stories of the people and projects we support at the centre. Our next step is to grow young people as an audience. We’ve recently consulted with young people across the country, and started a Young Creatives programme which provides supported freelance opportunities to create Youth Music content. The Digital Content Editor will play a major part
in shaping and driving this programme to achieve its potential. This is a varied role in Youth Music’s communications team, reporting to and supporting the Communications Manager, and managing the part-time Communications Assistant.
