Furnishing Futures is an innovative charity creating fully furnished, healing homes for survivors of domestic abuse who have been rehoused in empty social housing. We do this by partnering with the interiors industry, which donates high quality furnishings that might otherwise end up in landfill. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented junior designer who is passionate about our mission to assist our Homes Design team in creating a wide range of trauma-informed homes for beneficiaries and their children. You will need to be organised, compassionate, committed to anti-discrimatory practice and able to work at a fast pace. This position is based in Leyton E10 and involves flexibility with some work outside usual office hours, as well as travelling to all London boroughs. Tasks will vary from practical and physical design to administration and data entry. You will have a can-do attitude where no problem is too big and no task is too small.

About the Role

Are you an experienced A level tutor? Can you support under-resourced young people to reach their full academic potential?

We are looking for passionate and qualified A level tutors to deliver high quality group tuition to students. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors with a love of learning to help bright students overcome barriers to academic achievement. Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.

Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead weekly hour-long tutorials with your tutor group(s), via the online learning platform
• Responsively plan and deliver stimulating, high quality tuition in line with the Quality Assurance Framework
• Effectively monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback when requested
• Complete weekly attendance forms, supply monthly invoices, and complete other administrative duties as required
• Participate in observation and feedback process, taking advantage of continuous professional development opportunities
• Follow safeguarding policies, supporting the wellbeing of your students at all times

Successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK by the time the work commences

About You

You will have at least two years A level teaching and/or tutoring experience and a positive, engaging and flexible teaching style.

• Ability to commit to weekly hour-long tutorials at the same time each week over the academic year

About the role
We are excited to recruit a Community Organiser for our East London Parent Power project. This role offers a meaningful, paid professional development opportunity. The Brilliant Club will work in partnership with Northeastern University London to engage with parents in East London. East London Parent Power is an established project which utilises the community organising-based model first created by King’s College London and Citizens UK with South London Parent Power.
Parent Power supports parents and carers to develop skills in community organising and to gain knowledge on accessing higher education, empowering them to make change in their local community that supports young people and ensures they have a fair chance in education and their future careers.

Working with us, the Community Organiser will:

• Support local pupils from underrepresented backgrounds by empowering their parent/carers to become higher education experts;
• Receive community organising training from Citizens UK and develop transferable skills;

We’re looking for an empathetic and skilled Facilitating Trainer to join our Lived Experience Training team, supporting autistic trainers and trainers with learning disabilities to co-deliver the Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Training across Hampshire.

This nationally recognised programme helps professionals in health and social care better understand and meet the needs of autistic people and people with learning disabilities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that trainers with lived experience are supported, empowered, and able to deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions.

You will:

• Facilitate Oliver McGowan Tier 2 training sessions across Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton
• Support co-trainers with lived experience of autism and learning disabilities to prepare for and deliver training sessions
• Provide practical support around travel, accessibility, preparation and wellbeing needs
• Encourage the development and confidence of co-trainers, supporting them to contribute to and lead sessions where possible
• Ensure that training venues, materials and delivery approaches are adjusted to meet trainers’ individual needs
• Work collaboratively with the wider Lived Experience Training team to manage session registers, feedback and administration
• Support trainers to debrief following sessions where needed, promoting wellbeing and continued participation
• Promote inclusion, respect and empowerment in every training interaction

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience delivering face-to-face training, ideally within health, social care or a related setting
• Experience building rapport and working collaboratively with autistic people and people with learning disabilities
• Strong communication, facilitation and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach
• An understanding of the barriers faced by autistic people and people with learning disabilities, and a commitment to inclusion and empowerment
• Knowledge of current issues and best practice within autism, learning disability and health and social care sectors
• Confidence balancing the needs of co-trainers, learners and training delivery requirements
• The ability to work independently as part of a distance-managed team
• Competence using Microsoft Office, Teams and Zoom
• A full driving licence or the ability to travel regularly across Hampshire

Essential requirements:

• Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Facilitator qualification
• Good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Desirable:

• Oliver McGowan Tier 1 Facilitator qualification
• A relevant training or teaching qualification
