About Us:

Baca is dedicated to providing support and care to 16 to 18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeking children who are newly arrived in the country, helping them rebuild their strength, dignity, and hope for the future. We work closely with social workers and representatives from other agencies to benefit the young people in our care.

Role Overview:

As a Support Worker, you will be a key worker for several young people in Baca's care, providing high-quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood. You will deliver services in line with Baca’s Theory of Change, ensuring the highest quality outcomes in physical and emotional wellbeing, education, employment, training, social engagement, and personal safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support young people using trauma-informed approaches (including PACE and recovery models)
• Promote safety and safeguard young people from exploitation and harm
• Support emotional wellbeing, independence, and life skills development
• Encourage engagement in education, training, and community activities
• Maintain accurate and compliant records
• Work closely with social workers, schools, and partner agencies
• Contribute to a reflective, learning-focused team culture
• Be a role model, offering care and compassion without discrimination.
• Plan and participate in day trips and annual residential weeks.

Requirements:

About the Role

This is no ordinary desk job. As a Programmes Officer, you will play a key role in supporting HRF’s humanitarian and development programmes, helping secure vital funding and coordinating projects that create meaningful impact for vulnerable communities worldwide.

Working closely with field teams, donors, and partners, you will contribute to programme development, grant management, reporting, and strategic coordination across multiple country programmes. The role also includes opportunities for international travel to field locations, offering direct exposure to the communities and projects you support.

What You'll Be Doing

Under the management of the Head of International Programmes (HQ-based), the Programmes Officer will support the development and implementation of HRF’s programmes, with a strong focus on programme coordination, donor engagement, and fundraising. Key responsibilities include:

Grant Acquisition and Donor Coordination

• Develop concept notes, proposals, budgets, logical frameworks, and situation analyses.
• Identify new funding opportunities through donor platforms, clusters, and networking.
• Coordinate with colleagues to gather data required for proposal development.
• Represent HRF at relevant meetings and networking events.
• Coordinate with the marketing department to support project visibility.

Grant and Programme Management

• Review contracts, MOUs, and project documentation.
• Support project teams throughout the project cycle.
• Ensure projects comply with donor requirements, work plans, and budgets.
• Maintain communication with field offices, donors, and sector focal points.
• Lead the development of narrative and financial donor reports.
• Support donor visits, meetings, and external communications.
• Act as a focal point between HQ, donors, and field teams.
• Support MEAL teams in tracking project indicators.
• Ensure programme quality in line with HRF policies and SOPs.

Organisational Strategy and Growth

• Support the development and revision of organisational policies.
• Assist in supervising volunteers and interns.
• Support recruitment processes, particularly for field offices.
• Promote cross-learning and collaboration within the programmes department.
• Contribute to country-level strategic planning.
• Deliver staff capacity-building support where required.

Administrative Work 

• Maintain and update HRF databases and records.
• Ensure proposal submission documents are accurate and submitted on time.
• Maintain organised and up-to-date files and documentation.

Who we're looking for

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field; master’s degree desirable.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian or development sector.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel internationally when required.
• Right to live and work in the UK.
• Familiarity with the UK charity sector is desirable.

AT Beacon Project Support Officer (Operations & Data)
Salary: £26,500 – £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract/hours: 12-month fixed term (with potential to extend) | 35 hours per week (flexible, with occasional evenings/weekends)
Location: Hybrid – Office / Home / Community Sites (Lambeth)

About the Role

This is a pivotal role at the centre of a growing, community-led health initiative. The Project Support Officer (Operations & Data) will play a key part in coordinating day-to-day operations, monitoring performance, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the AT Beacon Project.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme Operations & Delivery: Coordinate Beacon Hub activities and manage operational logistics and support the delivery of key initiatives, such as the Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Programme.
• Data, Reporting & Insights: Maintain accurate and high-quality data systems, produce regular reports, support dashboard development, and analyse trends to inform decision-making.
• Stakeholder & Partnership Support: Act as a key point of contact for internal teams, community partners, and public health stakeholders. Support effective communication and collaboration across the project.
• Senior Leadership Support: Assist with SMT coordination, prepare briefing materials, and track actions and deadlines.
• Events & Outreach: Contribute to planning and delivering community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
• Communications & Digital Support: Support website updates, digital content creation, and social media activity.

Person Specification

• Essential: Experience in project/operations/data roles; strong organisation; data reporting skills; MS Office proficiency; strong communication
• Desirable: Public health or social prescribing experience; partnership working; monitoring & evaluation knowledge.
