Are you an experienced fundraiser, looking for that next challenge for an inspirational cause? Charity People are working with - Unitas Youth Zone, Barnet which is part of the OnSide Youth Zones network, to find a new Philanthropy Manager. The role will generate income by supporting a programme of high impact, donor-focused stewardship of existing donors (major donors) and new sustainable major donor relationships.

Role: Philanthropy Manager

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000

Location: Hybrid, with three days working in the office per week

Contract: Permanent, Open to either 1.0 FTE or 0.8 FTE with flexible hours

Barnet Youth Zone, named "Unitas" by local young people, was the third Youth Zone in London opened by the national charity, OnSide in Summer 2019. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a small but growing, impactful fundraising team and play a critical part in shaping opportunities for London's young people and supporting a grass roots, committed universal youth service.

Unitas, like all OnSide Youth Zones, exists to give young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

Unitas state-of-the-art building provides young people with access to a range of activities, offering them the opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and gain support from friendly, warm and positive staff and volunteers. The facilities are second to none, delivering sporting, artistic, cultural and general recreational activities each session. About the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Philanthropy Manager who is passionate about fundraising and securing major donations. You will be working closely with the Head of Fundraising to develop and maintain relationships with existing Patrons and Supporters. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading in the development of a Patrons program which aims to encourage individuals to support the charity at various levels.

Your duties will include developing sustainable relationships with major donors, implementing a high-impact stewardship program, and organising events to cultivate and steward donors. Your goal will be to bring in substantial income for the charity from philanthropic donations annually.

About you

To excel in this role, you should be an accomplished fundraiser with a proven track record of securing substantial funds from major donors. You will also have extensive experience in meeting challenging financial targets for both new business and stewardship and possess the ability to work to multiple deadlines. You should have a structured and methodical approach to work, a clear focus on results, and the ability to think conceptually and creatively. Your passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their goals and aspirations should be evident, along with your sound knowledge and awareness of issues affecting young people and the Barnet/North London community.

Railway Children works here in the UK and internationally to support vulnerable children alone and at risk on the streets and at transport hubs. They're best known for their work in India, where thousands of children arrive frightened and alone at rail and bus terminals every day. Some are passing through having fallen prey to groomers, traffickers or drug gangs. Others are lost miles from home.

In this role, you'll be working for an organisation that responds to this need by:

* Training 11,614 British Transport Police and railway staff to identify and support vulnerable children.
* Reaching and protecting 3,727 children in India across 8 railway stations and 1 bus terminal.
* Supporting 1,789 children in Tanzania to move away from the streets to a brighter future.

About the role
You'll work as part of an established and growing fundraising team to secure and steward four, five and six-figure grants from trusts, foundations and institutions in the UK and overseas.

This will include a portfolio of new and existing donors with varied day-to-day tasks. You'll submit funding proposals and manage existing grants, as well as prepare high-quality feedback reports and deliver outstanding stewardship.

About you
You'll already have a proven track-record securing funding from trusts, foundations and/or institutions and statutory funders. However, you don't necessarily need to come with previous international experience (though, of course, you'd be very welcome to apply if you do).

Senior Individual Giving Officer, an excellent opportunity to join a fantastic Children’s Charity at a very exciting time of investment and growth across Individual Giving and Mass Fundraising.

With long-term investment to grow the Individual Giving programme and across Mass Fundraising, it’s a very exciting time to join the charity and the Individual Giving team.

As the Senior Individual Giving Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of this programme. You will work closely with the Individual Giving & Legacies Manager, leading on a variety of campaigns across Individual Giving. Delivering and developing campaigns and appeals across cash, regular giving, payroll giving and legacies, using channels such as digital, direct mail, DRTV and direct dialogue.

Key responsibilities

• With the Individual Giving & Legacies Manager, develop the IG marketing plan, making recommendations to meet strategic goal.
• Deliver the activity plan considering learnings and recommendations, in line with the wider Income and Engagement Strategy.
• Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to budget across a variety of channels, adhering to brand guidelines.
• Develop creatives for campaigns with internal and agency support to increase response rates and growing income.
• Ensure a test and learn approach to build solid foundations on which to grow the programme.
• Regularly monitor the performance of campaigns and activities and report weekly against agreed KPIs.

To be successful in this Senior Individual Giving Offer role, you will have gained the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

• Working within fundraising in a similar Direct Marketing role, delivering and developing fundraising campaigns and activations in Individual Giving.
• Managing multi-channel Direct Marketing programmes across an array of channels such as: Direct Mail, Digital, DRTV, Telephone, Face to Face.
• Analysing data, results monitoring and KPI reporting, and using insight to make inform decisions.
