As the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will lead their impressive trusts, foundations, and statutory income streams which generates over £3 million annually. We’re seeking a driven, tenacious individual with a track record of securing 6- and 7-figure gifts to lead the growth-focused team.
You will work closely with the Delivery Directorate who lead on grant management and reporting. With a fundraising-positive approach from the department, you will work collaboratively with them to identify funding opportunities and to deliver excellent stewardship.
As Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will:
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the trusts, foundations and statutory strategy to grow both restricted and unrestricted income
- Develop and oversee a portfolio and pipeline of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Write compelling funding proposals to engage new donors to give at the 6- and 7-figure level to ensure long term growth and sustainability
- Work collaboratively with the delivery teams to ensure effective grant management, stewardship and reporting for funders
- Work closely with the delivery teams to develop new projects and cases for support, and refine existing projects to meet the emerging needs of beneficiaries
- Develop engagement opportunities for prospective and warm funders to bring them closer to London Youth’s mission
- Provide management and direction for the team – including two Trusts and Foundations Managers
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proven success of securing 6 and 7-figure gifts from a range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Superb writing skills to convey need and impact across bids, applications, cases for support and pitches
- Demonstrable experience of growing income streams
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven ability to facilitate cross-team working and forge effective working relationships with services teams
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team

Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will possess a professional qualification in Learning and Development equivalent to level 3 and will possess experience of implementing LMS systems. Your experience will also include conducting learning needs analysis to identify appropriate learning interventions as well as experience of delivering training and facilitating learning events. A fantastic London based charity supporting the social work profession is seeking an IT & Facilities Officer to be based full-time at their London office in King’s Cross.
The role is paying £39,000 per annum inclusive of London weighting and will initially be offered on a 3 month fixed term contract. Ultimately the role is required on a permanent basis, so it is anticipated that the role will convert into a permanent position.
It is important to note that this role is 100% office-based onsite at the charity’s offices in King’s Cross.
The role is highly varied and will involve a mixture of hands-on 1st Line IT Support to around 20 staff in the office (and a further 120 working remotely) dealing with issues such as hardware configuration and AV set-up. You will also support the full range of Office 365 and Azure products including Enpoint/Intune, Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook and liaise with the outsourced IT support provider who provide 3rd line support to the charity. In addition there will be some Facilities Management duties covering office management and health & safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising and working with external tech support contacts for project work and 3rd line issues.

Main responsibilities of the role:
- Manage, lead and develop a team of 4 direct reports across finance, HR, estates and IT, ensuring high quality delivery across all areas.
- Oversee the production of accurate, timely and easy-to-understand financial reports on a monthly basis, as well as ensuring procedures are in place for annual budgeting and forecasting.

- Understand and deliver on the need to take both a high-level strategic approach, as well as get their ‘hands dirty’ when the need arises.

his individual will be able to evidence high-level strategic thinking and be comfortable delivering campaigns when required. War Child UK run multiple large scale appeals, events and initiatives across the year targeting a diverse range of audiences.
Some of the key responsibilities:
- Leading on strategically planned engagement and growth across all our communications audiences, channels and initiatives. Including defined communications moments, brand engagement, UK advocacy communications and cross departmental campaigns.
- Own War Child UK’s voice and brand, providing consistency in tone and messaging across all channels and ensuring that our voice and brand is engaging to our wide range of audiences
- Lead on creating and assessing opportunities for cross departmental communications campaigns to increase fundraising and/or brand awareness, including overarching narratives and key campaigns each year
- To provide first-rate line management to the Communications & Content team and line manage the Marketing Lead and PR Manager. You will model excellence in management that will result in the team thriving in their roles, with high standards of performance and behavior, and team members that are developed to achieve their best, whilst maintaining strong wellbeing. As a Head of, you will model these high standards of performance and behavior to support the Fundraising Engagement Director and other functions across War Child UK.
- Use your experience to provide insight and recommendations to the Fundraising Engagement Director and War Child UK CEO when communications decisions are needed
- In most instances you will be accountable for the successful delivery of campaigns led by others in your team, in some instances – including cross departmental communications campaigns - you will lead on end to end delivery
You will be:
- Strategic, with experience of designing and delivering communications strategies across a wide portfolio
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence to deal with a variety and internal and external stakeholders and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- A diverse knowledge of communications delivery, with the ability to transfer this knowledge and adapt your experience to different audiences, objectives and campaigns
- Experience of team resource and people management and able to delegate tasks in a clear and concise manner.
- A clear understanding of the importance of brand behaviour and having a strong tone of voice. You are able to use this to instil ways of working across an organisation to achieve success
- Able to set up and manage a successful press function
- Experience of policy and advocacy initiatives, delivering public facing advocacy campaigns and getting traction in the media
- Experience of humanitarian emergencies and managing a media responses to work for a UK market.
