RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and evaluate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant funders, maintaining a 12-month funding calendar.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience

Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations, other grant makers or the equivalent.

Experience of creating compelling and concise funding proposals, written documents and reports from a range of information sources, including detailed technical or sector specific information. about the organisation’s work.

Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.

About the role
Coram’s Fundraising Team raises funds for the charity – the Individual Giving team has responsibility for supporter care, customer service and donor administration and managing our supporter database. Coram has been growing its investment in Individual Giving for a number of years, has a loyal and very generous supporter base and an ambition to see this grow and develop further by embracing new ideas. The team has an exciting future and this role will play a key part in its success.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Individual Giving team and support the development and growth of the programme. The role will involve developing engaging content to communicate the importance and impact of our work, inspiring existing and new supporters to commit to long term support of the charity. This will involve printed media but also increasingly digital media as we look to widen the reach of our communications and messaging. It will also require excellent supporter care/donor retention skills to ensure that we make sure we maintain our donors support over the long term and experience working with databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge. As our Fundraising Executive - Direct Engagement you will play a pivotal role in our fundraising strategy. You will support our Direct Engagement Managers, to lead multi-channel campaigns, focusing on both Face to Face and Telemarketing initiatives. In this role, you will:

- Coordinate the delivery of fundraising materials across various acquisition channels.

To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Proficiency in fundraising regulations, with a knack for resolving day-to-day issues.

- Expertise in monitoring and analysing campaign targets, results, and KPIs.

Role overview To manage a range of community fundraisings projects and mid value fundraisers, provide excellent supporter experience to all, meeting agreed KPIs and objectives. The Community Fundraising Team The Community Fundraising Team at Children with Cancer UK raises just under one million pounds annually. Our community fundraisers take on their own fundraising activities or taking part in one of our fundraising products. The community fundraising team is part of the wider fundraising team which has a number of established fundraising events, individual giving campaigns, sports events and corporate supporters

LTSB has grown significantly over the past few years. Our work is only possible with the generosity and commitment of our supporters. This role will be responsible for managing existing corporate partnerships, developing new corporate relationships, and developing and delivering an events programme. Events is a relatively new area for the charity and we anticipate the events programme will, in the main, support our corporate partnerships and provide a varied package of engagement opportunities for our growing base of employee volunteers. These, and other events, will help raise vital funds as well as networking and new business development opportunities.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of a similar role/s. You will have great people skills and have experience of building and maintaining strong relationships. You will be enthusiastic, energetic and with a can-do attitude who enjoys planning and organising and is not phased with periods of high intensity. You will have a positive approach and enjoy working as part of a team.
As we all work remotely, you will also need to be a self-starter and able to work independently. You must be based in one of our 4 hub cities: London, Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpool. The post holder will need a thorough understanding and commitment to LTSB’s vision, mission, and work.

The Role

About the Organisation
The Charity has a desire to grow and become more sustainable, the Fundraising Officer will play a key role in achieving this ambition. Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.

JOB PURPOSE
· Strategic responsibility for fundraising, including partnership development and maintaining the charity’s strong relationships with our wide range of funding partners;
· Strategic responsibility for marketing, to increase the charity’s profile and increase engagement;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations and Head of Delivery and Engagement.
You will have substantial, proven experience of working in fundraising and of developing and sustaining partnerships, ideally in the third sector, and of how to build financial sustainability. You will be a highly organised people-person and will be responsible for line managing two Fundraising and Marketing Officers.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire others about our work. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to forge new relationships and you will thrive on enhancing our current partnerships and identifying and creating new ones.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy
· To work closely with the CEO and trustee board to lead on the development, planning and delivery the Doorstep Library’s fundraising strategy, with further development of a longer-term strategy;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To take a lead on application bids, including managing, monitoring and evaluating all funding applications;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
Grow, develop and sustain our partnerships and income streams
· To lead, deliver and grow our existing relationships with all of our funding partners; foundations, corporates, independent schools and individual donors to raise circa £850K pa;
· To identify new potential partners, working closely with the CEO and board of trustees to develop these partnerships;
· To establish a corporate supporters programme and individual giving campaigns, plus develop effective stewardship systems;
· To have responsibility for retaining and engaging the charity’s supporters, this includes providing formal reports and updates on the work of the charity;

1. A proven track record of delivery results in fundraising and/or partnership management

The role:
As an integral part of the Fundraising and Development team, you will work closely with the rest of our team to secure financial income enabling GMYN to meet its income generation targets. The Grants and Trust Fundraiser will bring their own ideas to seek new grant providers and apply accordingly for delivery and core funding for the charity.

Personal Specification:
You don't have to have worked in the voluntary youth sector previously. Our aim is to find a suitable candidate that can meet the selection criteria below. This can be from a past/current income generation/bid writer role, or a role with transferable skills.
More importantly we are looking for someone with genuine passion for working for a youth charity. Someone who can join our fundraising team and make a big impression, helping us to achieve our income generation goals.

- Proven experience of bid writing or other similar income generation work with demonstrable transferable skills.
