A small charity that supports the children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s & Queen Charlotte's Hospital by helping patients and their families, and by enabling our dedicated team of nurses and doctors to treat hundreds of babies and children in intensive care.
We go above and beyond what the NHS can't afford purchasing vital state of the art equipment, providing training for health professionals, funding a programme of ground-breaking research into life-threatening diseases and supporting families through one of the most difficult times in their life with one-to-one support, advice, counselling, accommodation for parents.

It has been an exciting period of change for London Youth. Last year, the organisation made an internal appointment of a new CEO and they have recently appointed a new Director of Fundraising and Communications to lead the team to meet their ambitious growth plans.
As the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will lead their impressive trusts, foundations, and statutory income streams which generates over £3 million annually. We’re seeking a driven, tenacious individual with a track record of securing 6- and 7-figure gifts to lead the growth-focused team.
You will work closely with the Delivery Directorate who lead on grant management and reporting. With a fundraising-positive approach from the department, you will work collaboratively with them to identify funding opportunities and to deliver excellent stewardship.
As Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will:
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the trusts, foundations and statutory strategy to grow both restricted and unrestricted income
- Develop and oversee a portfolio and pipeline of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Write compelling funding proposals to engage new donors to give at the 6- and 7-figure level to ensure long term growth and sustainability
- Work collaboratively with the delivery teams to ensure effective grant management, stewardship and reporting for funders
- Work closely with the delivery teams to develop new projects and cases for support, and refine existing projects to meet the emerging needs of beneficiaries
- Develop engagement opportunities for prospective and warm funders to bring them closer to London Youth’s mission
- Provide management and direction for the team – including two Trusts and Foundations Managers
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proven success of securing 6 and 7-figure gifts from a range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Superb writing skills to convey need and impact across bids, applications, cases for support and pitches
- Demonstrable experience of growing income streams
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven ability to facilitate cross-team working and forge effective working relationships with services teams

Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.

JOB SUMMARY

JOB PURPOSE
· Strategic responsibility for fundraising, including partnership development and maintaining the charity’s strong relationships with our wide range of funding partners;
· Strategic responsibility for marketing, to increase the charity’s profile and increase engagement;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To manage the charity’s fundraising operations including coordinating prospect research and prioritisation, managing workflows, and ensuring effective stewardship of donors, corporate supporters and trust and foundations grants;

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations and Head of Delivery and Engagement.
You will have substantial, proven experience of working in fundraising and of developing and sustaining partnerships, ideally in the third sector, and of how to build financial sustainability. You will be a highly organised people-person and will be responsible for line managing two Fundraising and Marketing Officers.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire others about our work. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to forge new relationships and you will thrive on enhancing our current partnerships and identifying and creating new ones.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy
· To work closely with the CEO and trustee board to lead on the development, planning and delivery the Doorstep Library’s fundraising strategy, with further development of a longer-term strategy;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To take a lead on application bids, including managing, monitoring and evaluating all funding applications;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
Grow, develop and sustain our partnerships and income streams
· To lead, deliver and grow our existing relationships with all of our funding partners; foundations, corporates, independent schools and individual donors to raise circa £850K pa;
· To identify new potential partners, working closely with the CEO and board of trustees to develop these partnerships;
· To establish a corporate supporters programme and individual giving campaigns, plus develop effective stewardship systems;
· To have responsibility for retaining and engaging the charity’s supporters, this includes providing formal reports and updates on the work of the charity;
· Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Officers to effectively communicate the impact of our work to internal and external stakeholders;
Communications
· Work with the Marketing Officer to implement improvements to our digital presence, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online advertising campaigns;
· Research and analyse sector news/ developments;
· Oversee the creation of the annual report and impact report;
· Create and maintain a stock of case studies/ success stories and photos;
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns;
Line Management
· To have direct line management responsibility for the Fundraising and Marketing Officers;
· To create an environment where the team feels fully supported and enabled to grow and develop under your management;
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
1. A proven track record of delivery results in fundraising and/or partnership management
2. Knowledge of successful fundraising from a variety of sources, including at least two of corporates, major donors, individual giving, local authorities and trusts & foundations
3. Proven experience in securing five figure gifts, managing the donor cycle from initial stages through to stewardship
4. The ability to maintain current income streams and identify opportunities for growth
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and in an engaging manner in person and in writing to a variety of audiences
6. Strong relationship building skills – experience of working with a wide range of people, from large corporate teams to potential individual donors
7. Highly organised – ability to manage a number of projects and tasks at the same time
8. Ability to generate and implement new ideas and see them through to completion
9. A positive team player, working with, supporting and encouraging colleagues
10. Ability to work flexibly, adapting to rapidly changing demands and opportunities while retaining a clear strategic focus
11. Excellent organisation and administration skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail and use office systems

About Hope for the Young
Hope for the Young is on a mission to remove the obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seeker’s education and well-being through a bespoke package of one-to-one mentoring, advocacy, and financial support.
Founded in 2008, Hope for the Young has grown from a small grant-making charity led by its Trustees to an organisation that, last year, worked closely alongside 135 young people, with 11 staff members, and 150 dedicated volunteer mentors.
Our Mentoring Programme operates London-wide and matches young refugees and asylum-seekers aged 16-25 with trained volunteer mentors who provide tailored one-to-one support and advice according to their needs.

As we embark on our next 3-year strategy, we are seeking an exceptional and proactive leader who can oversee all aspects of our Fundraising and Communications at Hope for the Young, bring fresh ideas, and drive the organisation forward.
About the Role
As our Fundraising and Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and expanding our impact so that more young refugees can access the education and one-to-one support they need to rebuild their lives in the UK. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising campaigns, cultivating relationships with donors and supporters, writing funding applications, and effectively communicating our message to a range of audiences.

We are seeking an experienced Events & Partnerships Manager, to play an integral role within a dynamic fundraising team. Responsible for developing our events portfolio, community fundraising as well as expanding and developing our corporate and donor opportunities. Role Purpose
Responsible for developing and delivering our Events and Partnerships fundraising strategies, to secure appropriate funding to ensure the sustainable delivery of high-quality services by Home-Start Essex.
You will lead on developing and delivering our Home-Start events and in-aid of events plus expanding our community fundraising activities. As Events and Partnerships Manager you will also use your experience and skills to identify and lead approaches to potential corporate supporters and major donors. You will create high quality plans and deliver against financial targets, proactively supporting opportunities to source income to support children and families within Essex.
To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation, with the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and lead on delivering the Events & Partnerships portfolio, to grow a strong our sustainable funding base through planned activities & clear KPIs.

· In aid of events:
Ø To plan and oversee all events and proactively seek opportunities to develop our portfolio of events, keeping a keen eye on income contribution and ROI.
Ø To form strong relationships with external partners, to deliver events and grow and develop the portfolio.
· HSE events:
Ø To develop a bespoke in-person mass fundraising event with high participant numbers and value per head and ensuring the smooth and safe delivery of all events.
Ø Establish a wider team of volunteer fundraisers expanding into local communities and providing guidance and leadership on events.
Ø To work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to ensure that all events are well promoted and all marketing avenues have been explored, helping to formulate and monitor marketing planning and delivery to ensure targets are met.
Ø To work with the Fundraising & Marketing Administrator and Volunteer Development Officer to recruit and manage volunteers.
Ø To ensure events are thoroughly evaluated and recommendations implemented.
Reporting
· To provide regular activity, income and pipeline updates to the CEO and Finance & Business Development Committee.
· Maintain accurate records of income and restrictions.
· Ensure that progress against KPIs and pipeline is effectively monitored and reported, flagging concerns and developments in good time.
· Ensuring pipeline development by maintaining Beacon (CRM), recording all stewardship actions and communications.
Other duties
· To attend fundraising events.
· To work closely with other members of the fundraising department to provide data and leads to help them maximise income for the charity.
· To develop an in-depth knowledge of HSE and understanding of HSE’s work.
· To keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and comply with relevant legislation.
· To act as an ambassador for the fundraising department and the charity both internally and externally.
· To undertake any other assignments within the fundraising department and wider organisation as required.
· Manage resources for the Fundraising team and contribute to budgeting and preparation for financial audits/reviews.
· To develop and implement short, medium and long-term strategic business and funding plans for Home-Start Essex, as part of the senior management team, subject to Board approval.
People Management
· Provide line management to the Fundraising and Marketing Administrator, delegating appropriately and building a culture which attracts, retains and motivates staff.
· Undertake supervision, appraisals and performance management actions as necessary.

Role purpose
• To provide leadership to Caxton for the charity to achieve its mission and deliver to its
beneficiaries.
• To be responsible for developing current services and developing new services that
benefit the young people of Caxton and is youth-led.
• To work with the Board and SLT to achieve its 2023-26 business strategy, plans and
targets - while ensuring the Board fulfils its responsibilities in the governance of the
charity.
• To ensure long term sustainability, through effective governance, sound finance and delivery of services.
• To keep the organisation on track to achieve its operational business plan.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership
• Provide, develop and implement Caxton’s strategic and operational plans, leading on
partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity
and our beneficiaries..
• Provide leadership for all Caxton employees, volunteers and associates including
direct management responsibility for three employees to ensure that Caxton delivers a
safe, effective and fun service for all of its members and their families.
Strategy
• To deliver the 2023-26 strategy.
• Implement a strategy review in the Autumn and tailor the operational plan accordingly.
• Identify and assess strategic risks, issues and opportunities and take responsibility for initiating and leading associated changes, with agreement from trustees.
Business Development:
• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to ensure Caxton raises c.£500k pa to maintain in-years services.
• Work towards the achievement of long-term sustainability, developing the charity’s business model and maximising income, for example from fundraising, service contracts and earned income.
• To lead on the development of Caxton’s outdoor base and capital campaign

Financial Control and Governance
• Liaise with the Board, Senior Management Team and Accountants to ensure that the charity’s overall governance structure, policies and procedures are appropriate and effective, taking remedial measures and implementing changes as necessary in line with legal requirements and good practice.
• To ensure that adequate finance is available and to work with the Treasurer and the Finance and Facilities Officer, to produce regular management accounts and annual audited accounts in line with requirements.
• To attend all board meetings and quarterly subcommittee meetings, working with trustees on strategic matters.
Buildings Management
• To take accountability for the building management and compliance, working with the finance and facilities officer to ensure regular checks are made and the building is maintained within a budget.
Day-to-day Management
• Day-to-day management of the service to ensure it continues to be safe and effective. This includes being the safeguarding lead for the organisation.
Youth Government and Leadership
• To attend monthly Youth Government meetings and ensure that you are always amplifying the youth voice.
• To communicate effectively with young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.
• To liaise with external agencies and create new opportunities for youth leadership.
External Relations
• To develop and maintain positive relationships with private sector donors, statutory, partners and funding organisations.

The Individual Giving Manager responsible for reaching new supporters develops and implements engaging and innovative marketing activities that attract a range of new Young Lives vs Cancer supporters.
They create ambitious plans that use a variety of channels including digital, face-to-face and DRTV, and work with teams across Young Lives vs Cancer to ensure the impact of all activity is maximised.
They make sure support continues beyond the first donation so work collaboratively to make sure that welcome journeys build a strong relationship showing the supporter the impact of their support and understanding their needs and interests. Working with others they focus on engagement, conversion, value and long-term support.
They are constantly scanning the horizon, understanding trends and working in a flexible and agile way to test and learn. They respond to new insight, ideas and opportunities and build on successes to ensure we are reaching as many new supporters as possible in the most effective way.

Part 1: Role Purpose:
We are seeking an outstanding Programmes Officer for an exciting opportunity to support Street Child’s programme portfolio in Liberia and Sierra Leone. This role will cut across Street Child’s programming in the region, including a specific focus on the $12.8m Education for Every Child Today (EFECT) Project which aims to enrol 96,000 out of school children in school across West Africa over a 4-year period.
The key objectives of this role are to work closely with Street Child’s federal partners to support the effective implementation of adaptive programming, and to support accurate and timely donor reporting across a range of institutional, trust & foundations, and corporate donors. The ideal candidate will have strong written and excel skills, with experience of MEAL and financial management processes. The role will engage regular, detailed interaction with Street Child’s UK and European fundraising community.
The role holder will work in close collaboration with Street Child’s regional Head of Programmes, based in Freetown, as well as partner Programmes, MEAL and Finance teams to coordinate timely and quality implementation and reporting across the programmes portfolio.
Based in Monrovia, whilst serving a regional brief, the role-holder will be expected to be especially involved in supporting the programmes, and wider life, of Street Child of Liberia. This aspect of the role in particular demands a confident, ‘self-sufficient’ and motivated personality – who is excited by the opportunity and attendant career potential, as opposed to being overawed by the inevitable, multi-dimensional challenges.

Direct reports: None, but working closely with Individual Giving & Philanthropy Manager/ Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager
Job Purpose:
The Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will use their existing experience, knowledge and contacts within the Midlands region to pave the way for Over The Wall’s successful capital campaign to open its first permanent site in Derby in 2026. Our new site will bring mischief and magic to seriously ill children and young people from across the UK, taking forward Paul Newman’s vision of a place where kids can forget hospital, ‘kick back and raise a little hell’.
During 2023 a significant body of work was undertaken to prepare for the commencement of the campaign in 2024, including soliciting a lead gift, preparing a strong case for support and preparing various projects for funding. Furthermore, we have begun cultivating relationships with prospective major donors; gaining the support of local politicians and businesses; paving the way for local community partnerships; etc, to facilitate the initial two phases of the campaign. The next steps are to set up a regional Development Board and begin to plan the approaches for major giving and alumni of the school site.
With support from the Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager (writing proposals for grant-based funding), and the Individual Giving & Philanthropy Manager, the Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will bring together this project and manage its progress towards agreed goals and timescales. Working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Head of Marketing, the Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will represent the project both internally and externally, taking on a truly 360-degree role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager to implement a comprehensive funding strategy for the redevelopment of Ockbrook School as the new permanent site of Over The Wall.
- Prospect and develop relationships with a portfolio of HNWIs in the Midlands region, with an interest in human philanthropy/ youth/ health and bring them on this journey with OTW.
- Bring together and support a new Midlands-based Development Board who will help to steer the charity’s move to this area and gain financial and corporate support from the region, as well as awareness and visibility.
- Work with the Chief Executive/ DoD/ Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager to facilitate site visits for funders and show them OTW’s vision for the project.
- To explore community engagement with the project, working with organisations such as Nottingham YMCA (via our CEO), as well as recruiting local volunteers, to identify ways in which the project could further support the local area.
- Support the Marketing and Communications team with opportunities for local PR / media work.
- Plan and deliver a calendar of cultivation and awareness-raising events at the site, for funders and the community (including working with the Director of Business Development on community consultation).
- Ensure all communication with supporters and prospective donors is recorded and logged accurately.
- Contribute positively to the Development team, working collaboratively on the development of robust cases for support, sharing information and ensuring approaches are coordinated effectively.
- Adhere to the highest standards of fundraising best practice and ensure all activities comply with the relevant data protection and other legislation.
Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager: Person Specification:
Experience:
- Fundraising or relevant project management qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in the Midlands region in a previous fundraising/ charitable project-based role.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully researching and developing new relationships with HNWIs/celebrities/ambassadors.
- A proven track record in managing significant projects with timescales and visible outcomes, working with the organisation’s Leadership.
- Demonstrable experience of cultivating and supporting productive relationships with groups (such as a new Regional Development Board).
- Experience of working with senior leaders, key stakeholders and positively representing the work of a charitable organisation.
- Experience of working with a wide range of contacts with varying needs, both internally and externally, and with a diverse range of colleagues.
- Excellent networking skills, and ability to attend events independently to represent the organisation.
- Ability to present to funders where needed and engage them in the work of the organisation and its vision for the future.
