About Hope and Homes for Children:
We believe children belong in families, never orphanages. Because orphanages harm children. The majority of those who experience life inside an institution suffer violence, abuse and neglect. Denied the chance to grow up in a family, they’re more likely to become homeless later in life, to have run-ins with the law, and to experience mental and physical health issues.
The shocking truth is that these are almost always children who have, or could have, a family to look after them. To love them. But every day, a broken system puts pressure on parents to give up their children. They'll be safe from war, can escape poverty, will get an education. False promises. No child should have to trade their family for their future.
Today, over 5.4 million children are trapped within institutions. It’s not right and it must stop. Children deserve so much better. Always.
Since 1994, Hope and Homes for Children has been working to stop the institutionalisation of children. We’re 250 people, in ten countries, inspiring organisations, including the UN, EU and governments around the world, to close the doors of orphanages forever. Instead, we fight for every child to feel the love and belonging of a safe family home.

The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.
The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.
The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We would warmly welcome an application from people who have lived experience of adoption or fostering, and candidates from the Global Majority.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and will need to undertake a DBS due to the sensitive nature of the work of CVAA. We require three references, one of whom can be personal. To apply please prepare a comprehensive CV and Personal Statement. The statement should be no more than three pages of typed A4, in English, and address all the requirements of the Person Specification providing evidence and examples to back up statements.
Petra Jodlova, Head of Practice Development, is available to arrange informal conversations about the post.
The closing date for applications is 11.59pm 16th May 2024. Interviews will be week commencing 27th May 2024.
Please note we will require a full CV and personal statement addressing the key person specification criteria.

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.
A great deal has been done to prepare the organisation for such an important time and so now there is a real opportunity for this role to lead in being a figurehead for the charity and representing all that is achieved at GFS in national events and discussions, to best represent the girls of today.
Our new strategy is built around pillars of Impact, Brand and Sustainability with an ambition to grow in delivery as well as reputation. GFS is aware that the work done to listen to and amplify girls’ voices is important because they have so much to say about what needs to change and from a very young age. This role will be key to making this happen.
Equity, Diversity and inclusion is of strategic importance to GFS. We encourage applications from ethnically and racially minoritised, disabled and from LGBTQ+ people to build our best staff and volunteer teams and reflect the girls we serve.

Epic at a glance :
At Epic, we strive to build a world where children and youth - no matter their race, gender, sexual orientation or place of birth - have access to a future full of promise and opportunity. We are a global foundation backing groundbreaking non-profits around the world - the changemakers and innovators that are transforming the lives of children and youth, and protecting our planet for generations to come.
Groundbreaking non-profits often fall short of smart money to drive impact. Donors want to give more, but are held back because they lack trust, time, and knowledge. Epic bridges the gap between the social entrepreneurs forging solutions to today’s pressing challenges, and the individuals and businesses who want to pool their resources to drive positive change. We curate and monitor highly-vetted portfolios of organisations that we back in order to foster lasting change. We operate strictly on a pro bono basis: 100% of donations received go directly to the organizations in our portfolio.
Since 2015, we have mobilised over 80 million dollars and supported 54 organizations in 11 countries across 4 continents.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
