What you will be doing in this role
You’ll be a brilliant project manager, putting building relationships at the heart of your work. You like be organised and enjoy working in partnership with a variety of people and implementing practical solutions to meet your goals.
You could be supporting some of our longest running and successful partnerships helping young people discover exciting opportunities across industries such as healthcare, technology, construction and the financial services.

A little bit about the role
The fundraising manager role sits in the fundraising team within the external relations division. The fundraising team is responsible for raising between £1m and £1.5m in fundraised income annually. Frontline’s philanthropic income complements the significant contract income the charity receives from central and local government and enables the charity to carry out its broader mission to create social change for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.
Since we were founded in 2013, Frontline has leveraged its success to build committed, high impact partnerships with a number of prestigious supporters including, trusts and foundations, corporates and high net worth individuals. Our new fundraising strategy focuses on continuing to grow our network of supporters by maintaining excellent relationships with our current funders while identifying new potential donors, and at the same time testing and developing fundraising through community and events and individual giving.
We are now looking for a fundraising manager to help drive this strategy forward. The successful candidate will have experience across a range of fundraising areas (in particular community and events fundraising, individual giving, digital fundraising as well as corporate or major donors) to add strength to the team and allow us to pilot new fundraising initiatives.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Lead on developing our public fundraising income (individual giving/community and events fundraising), working with other teams and external agencies where suitable to increase engagement among our audiences and grow our public fundraising income.
- Work with and develop relationships with existing corporate supporters and bring on board new corporate supporters to grow income from this area, including through staff fundraising activities
- Work with other teams to develop opportunities to bring funders closer to our work and help inspire a culture of fundraising across the charity.
- Support the head of fundraising with the development of Frontline’s long-term fundraising strategy, monitoring progress towards annual revenue goals.
A little bit about you
You’ll be an enthusiastic target-driven fundraiser, with experience in building up public fundraising (including community, events and individual giving) and working towards financial targets and growing income. We’d like to see someone with strong writing skills, and are able to express creative and sometimes complex ideas in simple and effective language.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. The Charity
The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Adventure Programme Support Manager to support both young people and volunteers on our Adventure Programme. Working alongside the Programme Managers you will act in a support function across the activity days and camps, and be involved in direct one to one support for young people. You will also work alongside the Volunteering Lead to recruit, manage and support the volunteers who are front and centre of ensuring our young people’s positive experiences and outcomes. This is a diverse role with the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people both through direct work and supporting the wider team.
Programme Support
This aspect of the role includes;

Attending residential camps and activity days throughout the year, assisting with organising and delivering the Adventure Programme.

Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

Supporting work with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require.

Supporting work with our referral partners to ensure they have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

Contributing to ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

Working with the Programme Managers to support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promoting take up of the Bursary Programme.

Supporting the development of further opportunities for young people both during and after their YAT journey.

Assisting the day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This may include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

Creating website and social media content to highlight and promote YAT’s work.
Volunteer Management
Volunteers are critical to the success of our programme for vulnerable young people; recruiting, supporting and developing capable, skilled, empathetic, engaging and committed volunteers is essential to the impact of our work.
This aspect of the role includes;

Promoting volunteering opportunities and recruiting new volunteers to the organisation to ensure needs are met.

Acting as a key point of contact for volunteers, maintaining communication and engagement with the charity.

Administering all aspects of a volunteer’s involvement with the Trust, including completing the relevant checks and references, record keeping and database maintenance.

Organising, preparing and information sharing with volunteers to ensure they are ready to fulfil their role.

Supporting volunteers in their role on our Adventure Programme, facilitating opportunities for informal supervision and debriefing. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the young people get as much as possible from their time with the Youth Adventure Trust, and often deal with challenging and impactful situations.

Developing and coaching volunteers in their role through working alongside them as they support young people on our Adventure Programme residential camps and day activities.

Creating and delivering training opportunities for new and existing volunteers.

Creating website, newsletter and social media content to promote volunteering and engagement with the charity.

Supporting our Volunteer Committee in their functions which include organising awareness raising and social events.

Developing opportunities for a diverse portfolio of volunteering roles within the organisation.

Across the role you will;

The Candidate
To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable and challenging young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers, and professional organisations. In addition, you’ll need an excellent understanding of volunteering and relevant experience working with and managing volunteers. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model.

About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 13 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£8-9 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.
Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. We are resolutely focused on outcomes, driven by quality evidence.

About this role
We are seeking a maternity cover Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager – someone who is a talented and ambitious fundraiser who will join the Impetus Philanthropy Team and have responsibility for building new partnerships and stewarding existing ones.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to make a compelling case for change and write and speak persuasively with major donors, corporate partners, and trusts at the six figure level and beyond to ensure we can deliver our mission: helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed at school, work and in life.
You will be a strong team player, with a collaborative working style. You will be eager to build and manage new and complex partnerships and to advance the Philanthropy Team’s strategic objectives more broadly.
Key responsibilities
- Build and deliver new six figure+ partnerships from Grant Making Trusts and Foundations (GMTs), corporates, co-investment partners and individual philanthropists.
- Work collaboratively with the Development Directors to create and implement a plan for building new partnerships and reporting on progress against the plan.
- Manage a portfolio of active prospects and donors, including co-investment partnerships.
- Build high-level relationships with prospects, maximising opportunities to secure new and higher levels of income.
- Maintain strong, high-level, and long-term relationships with donors to Impetus, while identifying opportunities for further referrals to new prospects and partners.
- Manage co-investment partnerships, working closely across the organisation with Investment Directors and the Policy team, as well as externally with charity partners and their leadership teams to draw on a range of assets to provide excellent stewardship to Impetus’s highest value supporters.
- Build strong relationships externally with senior staff and leadership teams in Impetus’s portfolio charities to support them in pitching for co-investment funding, reporting and stewardship of co-investment partnerships.
- Leverage the contacts of Trustees and pro-bono supporters to good effect.
- Provide support and meticulous follow-up to the Chair, Trustees, Committee Members, and senior management of Impetus to encourage introductions to potential sources of giving and to ensure their successful involvement in the fundraising process.
- Ensure all communication with external stakeholders is prompt, clear and compelling, which includes testing and honing materials to improve the fundraising ask and stewardship strategies.
- Ensure prospect and donor activity and reporting for your portfolio is accurately captured on our CRM system (Salesforce).
- Support the Development Directors and the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships in the wider operational and strategic development of the Philanthropy Team and on major partnerships that they manage.

We are seeking an experienced Events & Partnerships Manager, to play an integral role within a dynamic fundraising team. Job Purpose:
The Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will use their existing experience, knowledge and contacts within the Midlands region to pave the way for Over The Wall’s successful capital campaign to open its first permanent site in Derby in 2026. Our new site will bring mischief and magic to seriously ill children and young people from across the UK, taking forward Paul Newman’s vision of a place where kids can forget hospital, ‘kick back and raise a little hell’.
During 2023 a significant body of work was undertaken to prepare for the commencement of the campaign in 2024, including soliciting a lead gift, preparing a strong case for support and preparing various projects for funding. Furthermore, we have begun cultivating relationships with prospective major donors; gaining the support of local politicians and businesses; paving the way for local community partnerships; etc, to facilitate the initial two phases of the campaign. The next steps are to set up a regional Development Board and begin to plan the approaches for major giving and alumni of the school site.
With support from the Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager (writing proposals for grant-based funding), and the Individual Giving & Philanthropy Manager, the Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will bring together this project and manage its progress towards agreed goals and timescales. Working closely with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Head of Marketing, the Capital Fundraising Campaign Manager will represent the project both internally and externally, taking on a truly 360-degree role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of Development, Chief Executive and Capital Trusts Fundraising Manager to implement a comprehensive funding strategy for the redevelopment of Ockbrook School as the new permanent site of Over The Wall.
- Prospect and develop relationships with a portfolio of HNWIs in the Midlands region, with an interest in human philanthropy/ youth/ health and bring them on this journey with OTW.

This role will lead on all our trusts and foundations approaches, playing an integral role in growth and development of the portfolio and work in partnership with the CEO to lead on bids/tenders for commissioned services. Role Purpose
Responsible for developing and delivering our Fundraising strategies, to secure appropriate funding to ensure the sustainable delivery of high-quality services by Home-Start Essex.
As Grants and Commissioning Manager you will use your experience and skills to identify and lead approaches to trusts, foundations, company foundations, statutory and other organisations securing funding from £5k-£800K+. You will create high quality approaches and deliver against financial targets, proactively supporting opportunities to source income to support children and families within Essex.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation, and a skilled writer with the ability to work autonomously and build on the strong foundations we have in place.
Specific Responsibilities
· Lead on delivering key areas of the Grants and Commissioning strategy and operational plan to establish a strong and sustainable funding base and support our growth ambition by delivering income targets year on year.
· To write compelling applications/bids, cases for support and reports, working in collaboration with the Finance Manager, Family Services Manager and Systems and Information Officer and tailoring the information for the audience, ensuring submission within required deadlines.
· Develop first class relationships with the portfolio of existing and new trust funders, commissioning partners, delivering the highest levels of donor care, by always providing excellent stewardship and ensuring all reporting requirements are fully met.
· Lead on horizon scanning for trust funders, creating a prospecting programme for new opportunities to grow the portfolio. Utilising existing networks, specialist funding sites and referrals.
· Lead on researching prospects for commissioned services, seeking opportunities to work in partnership where appropriate through utilising existing networks and procurement/tender platforms.
· Develop processes to be used across Home-Start Essex, to codify our approach to grant management and ensure appropriate escalation points across the organisation.
· Work both independently and with colleagues to develop content for proposal to funders, ensuring information is accurate and compelling, to generate funding for restricted and core work.
· Maintain and develop Home-Start Essex’s case for support templates and support materials, liaising closely with the senior management team and marketing team and adhering to brand guidelines and key messaging.
· Manage the grant/trust fundraising programme via Beacon CRM, developing account management and stewardship activities and maintaining detailed records of all communications.
· Ensure that successful bids/tenders and grant/trust applications are handed over to the Family Services Manager and Area Lead Co-ordinators with clear milestones, outputs, outcomes and evaluation/reporting requirements via Implementation meetings.
Reporting
· To provide regular activity, income and pipeline updates to the CEO and Finance & Business Development Committee.
· Maintain accurate records of income and restrictions.
· Ensure that progress against KPIs and pipeline is effectively monitored and reported, flagging concerns and developments in good time.
· Ensuring pipeline development by maintaining the database, recording all stewardship actions and communications.
Other duties
· To help at fundraising events from time to time.
· To work closely with other members of the fundraising department to provide data and leads to help them maximise income for the charity.
· Manage resources for the Fundraising team and contribute to budgeting and preparation for financial audits/reviews.
· To develop an in-depth knowledge of HSE and understanding of HSE’s work.
· To keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and comply with relevant legislation.
· To act as an ambassador for the fundraising department and the charity both internally and externally.
· To undertake any other assignments within the fundraising department and wider organisation as required.
· To develop and implement short, medium and long-term strategic business and funding plans for Home-Start Essex, as part of the senior management team, subject to Board approval.
Marketing
Work with the Digital Communications & Marketing team to ensure consistent and co-ordinated approach to the promotion of Home-Start Essex in the following areas:
· Create and distribute press releases to ensure regular and positive promotion of Home-Start Essex.
· Coordinate and schedule key promotional messages to our supporters and the wider public.
· Ensure branding, language and content for all fundraising communications are in line with the Home-Start Essex’s strategy, vision and values.
This role is part of the Senior Management Team within Home-Start Essex.

Fundraising Manager (Grants and Trusts)
Working closely with the Chief Executive, the Fundraising Manager will help secure and sustain existing and new grant income streams from trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory bodies, and other local or national funders.
