About the Role

This is a key leadership role that oversees the delivery of a high performing People function. You will lead a small team to deliver an annual People Plan that supports organisational priorities, enables colleagues to do their best work and drives a consistent, customer focused HR service.

Working closely with senior leaders, you will shape and deliver initiatives across Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Reward and Recognition, Learning and Development, wellbeing, employee relations and organisational development. You will also support the transformation programme, including HR system improvements and developing a culture of effective HR business partnering.

About the Role 

This role will lead Media Trust’s climate work. As Senior Programme Manager, you will run our flagship Communicating Climate programme and lead Media Trust’s work on the Diverse Voices programme. You will help us further develop our climate work and ensure our existing programmes are cutting edge and meet the demands of this moment.

This role will directly manage our Communicating Climate programme. The Senior Programme Manager will build on the success of the past five years of the programme and further develop the programme content and structure to maximise impact for participating organisations. With support from a programme co-ordinator, you will ensure the smooth delivery of the programme, including recruiting and managing a cohort of climate organisations; overseeing the budget and timeline; managing our relationships with funders, trainers and partners; and impact evaluation and reporting.

You will also oversee our role in the Diverse Voices programme, which works to amplify the voices of people and communities most impacted by climate change. The programme is run by a consortium of organisations, including Race Equality Foundation, Turn2Us and Disability Rights UK. Media Trust is the media partner, delivering communications-related training and support to the participants. 

Your line manager will be Media Trust’s Head of Charity Services and the role will sit within our charity services team. This Senior Programme Manager role does not currently have any direct line management responsibilities. 

Please note that whilst this is a remote role, the Media Trust team meets in-person in London on a monthly basis and regular travel to London for meetings and events is required. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Management of our climate programmes, including: 

• Lead our Communicating Climate programme, ensuring it is high quality, innovative and tailored to the needs and priorities of climate and environmental organisations 

• Recruit and build successive new cohorts of climate charities, user-led organisations and community groups, supporting them through the programme to ensure high levels of engagement and collaboration 

• Recruit and work with trainers and climate experts to develop engaging, practical and tailored training content, activities and resources 

• Plan and ensure the smooth delivery of all activities (including training, workshops, peer to peer networking sessions and other events), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and lead to planned outcomes 

• Work with Media Trust’s media and creative industry partners to develop tailored training, mentoring and digital resources for the climate and environment sector 

• Manage the Advisory Group for Communicating Climate, which is comprised of leading media organisations, climate charities and sector experts, coordinating regular meetings, building relationships with members and facilitating opportunities for the Advisory Group to shape and input into the direction of the programme 

• Manage relationships with our key programme and sector partners including Climate Outreach, Heard and others, build relationships with a wide range of sector organisations

• Work with media industry partners to design and deliver activities for volunteers from leading media and creative agencies to provide pro bono strategic communications support to climate charities

• Manage the programme budget and financial reporting 

• Lead on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the programme, ensuring impact is evidenced by high quality data and producing impact reports 

• Maintain up to date knowledge of trends and developments in the climate and strategic communications space and embed these insights into the programme content 

Other work across our team and programmes 

• Identify new opportunities for climate work for Media Trust 

• Share key learnings and best practice across our thematic programmes (our other thematic programme is the Stronger Voices Programme).

• Support the Head of Charity Services with securing grant and other funding for new thematic strategic communications programmes and climate work, contributing to the development of future programmes and funding applications 

• Collaborate with our MarComms team to craft compelling copy for various platforms including web, e-marketing, and social media channels

KEY PURPOSE:

We are seeking to appoint a Finance Manager, who will be integral to supporting the charity through an exciting period of change and development. This is a new role, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to refine the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts, including stock returns.
• Prepare key account reconciliations and review those carried out by the Finance team to ensure completeness.
• Preparing Gift Aid returns.
• Administrating RABI’s payment providers.

Summary and key purpose

This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.

Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.

A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.

Your expertise and skills:

To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.

• Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice. The post-holder will be a key member of the team in keeping accurate and up to date records of the organisations financial activities on both the accounting system & associated files.

You’ll be based at the Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at Centre of the Earth, 42 Norman Street, Birmingham, B18 7EP, with some work at our EcoPark site in Small Heath and occasional travel across the region and nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function including adding new suppliers and customers to the system
• To be responsible for keeping up to date and accurate records of financial transactions on Excel and the accounting system
• To raise and issue sales invoices, follow up outstanding invoices and resolve any issues.
• To liaise with suppliers and creditors to maintain relationships as part of cash flow management.
• To check and reconcile purchase invoices ready for payment, to investigate and resolve any issues.

About the role

The Restart Project is a year into our five year strategy. We have a bold vision, clear finance and communications strategies and an outline fundraising strategy, developed with support from our trustees. Our vision and track-record has helped us to secure a number of multi-year grants, and now is the time to build on this work. 

We’re looking for a driven, organised and creative Fundraising and Partnerships Lead to help us diversify our income, expand our funding relationships, and build on our financial sustainability.  With a focus on generating income from corporate partnerships and Trust and Foundation fundraising, you will also support our efforts to generate income from a diverse range of areas. 

You will build out our pipeline of funding leads, including building and managing new and existing relationships.  Much of this will include securing funding from traditional sources and supporting efforts to boost unrestricted income. 

You will also have the opportunity to be innovative in pursuing funding for the organisation. This will involve working with the Co-Directors and other team members to develop and secure funding for exciting new projects. Responsible for expanding income within an underfunded sector, creativity and drive will be essential characteristics.

Fundraising strategy 

• Build on our existing finance strategy and outline funding plan to create a robust fundraising strategy for the next 2-3 years.

• Work with the broader team to achieve the goals and targets set out in the finance strategy to support Restart’s overall operational strategy.

• Develop and manage a 12 month rolling fundraising pipeline, including regular horizon scanning. 

• Work with team members to ensure Restart’s impact is well communicated to potential donors.

• Work with our fundraising committee, a sub group of our trustee board, to help shape our future fundraising strategy.

Corporate partnerships

• Secure income from corporates by boosting Restart’s visibility and increasing the frequency of high value donations.

• Create corporate sponsorship packages to secure income for existing Restart activities or projects, as well as general organisational sponsorship, and pitch them to a pipeline of corporates. 

• Work with the Co-Directors and other staff to develop funded corporate or other partnerships around innovative projects that will support Restart’s strategy.

• Research, pitch and secure opportunities for Charity of the Year affiliations.

• Ensure that partnerships are managed well, with good reporting and value for partners to ensure retention. 

Trusts and Foundations 

• Be responsible for submitting bids, tracking and reporting on outcomes with the support of our Operations and Finance Lead.

• Help broaden our pool of funders, including building and maintaining relationships made through allies, and networking with funds that don’t accept unsolicited proposals.

New sources of income

• Support the team to develop income from other sources. This will include matched crowdfunding, paid events and consultancy. 

• Explore other ways of securing income and funding relationships.

The HR Administrator will provide essential administrative and coordination support across the charity, ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. As a small operational team with limited capacity, we are seeking additional support to ease the administrative workload currently carried by managers and the Finance & HR Manager. The Head of Communications is a fundamental role within the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

The role is responsible for leading the development and coordinated delivery of the Trust’s communications in line with the Wilder Somerset 2030 strategy. This includes identifying key audiences, crafting core messages, and selecting effective communication channels to raise awareness and understanding of the Trust’s work. Responsibility 1: Leadership & Cross Team Working

• Supporter Journeys & Segmentation: Map and optimise journeys across channels (email, web, social media, print, events) with named next steps that move people toward deeper engagement and action.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Development Producer, to provide development support for and oversee development projects on our growing development slate.

The development producer will assist the Head of Unscripted in preparing and delivering creative sessions to production companies and stakeholders. They will also help manage our unscripted contacts and prepare for community-building events with unscripted labels and talent.

You have a track record working on or developing unscripted formats a have good eye for commercially viable ideas for broadcasters streamers and online. A knowledge or experience with ad-funded content, whilst not essential, could be helpful.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project managing funded TV development projects. This involves having regular meetings with production companies, industry bodies and experts.

• Working with the head of unscripted to prepare for editorial and funding meetings.
