Brief role description
The NST Client Advisor plays a key role in delivering the support centre function for the programme, acting as the first point of contact for veterans who have served in the UK Armed Forces and are at risk of, or involved in, the Justice System. Working closely with the Nova Support Team (NST), you will provide initial advice, guidance and assistance, assess individual needs, manage case information and connect veterans with appropriate support services. The role involves receiving and triaging referrals, making timely first contact, completing initial registrations and maintaining accurate and detailed records on the case management system.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a compassionate and people-focused individual who can build trust and communicate clearly while supporting veterans with a range of complex needs. You will have experience and guiding and supporting individuals with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide accurate advice and direction. You will also be highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple cases effectively while handling sensitive information with professionalism and care. You will be proactive, IT Confident and able to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also bring an understanding of the justice system, experience using Salesforce, or a similar CRM system, and a resilient, adaptable approach.

About The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Fundraising Manager, working 35 hours per week, to join our Growth and Partnerships team. Working closely with the Head of Growth & Partnerships, you will play a key role in delivering and developing NYAS’s fundraising strategy, helping to grow and diversify income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and individual giving.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys both strategic and hands-on work. You will lead and support a team of fundraising professionals, overseeing high-quality funding applications, donor stewardship and income generation activity while ensuring fundraising activity aligns with NYAS’s mission, values and organisational priorities.
You will manage a varied fundraising portfolio, helping to build strong relationships with funders and supporters while identifying opportunities to increase sustainable income. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will help develop compelling cases for support, funding proposals and impact reports that demonstrate the difference NYAS makes to vulnerable children, young people and adults.
The role also involves maintaining oversight of fundraising systems, pipelines and reporting, ensuring activity is compliant, well-managed and aligned to fundraising best practice.
About You
We are looking for a skilled fundraising professional with experience securing income from a range of fundraising streams, including trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and/or individual giving.
You will have excellent written communication skills and experience producing persuasive funding applications, reports and donor communications. You will also have strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and experience supporting or supervising others within a fundraising environment.
You will be confident building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and able to use data and insight to inform fundraising activity and demonstrate impact. Experience using CRM systems and fundraising platforms is essential, alongside a good understanding of fundraising regulations and best practice.

Manage all new donor streams for the Trust, including mail, email, regular giving, mid-value supporters, and legacy prospects, while delivering multi-channel campaigns and creating strong welcome journeys. Convert one-off donors into regular givers, ensure smooth transition to long-term stewardship, and develop strategies to grow legacy and in-memory giving.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:
1. Develop and implement the Trust’s strategy across regular giving, one of donors, mid value and legacy pledgers to acquire and steward new donors. Working with the other Individual Giving Manager and in consultation with the Head of Fundraising and Communications.
2. Prepare and monitor the annual income and expenditure budget with support from the Head of Fundraising.
3. Responsible for delivering existing integrated campaigns spanning direct-mail, partially addressed mail, inserts, telephone acquisition and digital channels against the agreed schedules, targets and budgets.
4. Work closely with the Database Manager (and relevant agencies) on criteria for data selections, data extractions and supply.
5. Measure attrition in key acquisition groups as well as other key metrics on an ongoing basis and develop strategies to reactivate and mitigate against donor attrition.
6. Work with a creative agency on campaigns across all Individual Giving streams, testing and adapting regularly to optimise results.
7. Work with the other Individual Giving Manager focused on retention, Database Manager and the appointed fulfilment house to ensure that supporters are managed to the highest level of donor care standards and GDPR guidelines.
8. Continue to develop the regular giving acquisition proposition to grow each segment of supporters and negate attrition.
9. Maximise Gift Aid income from the acquisition appeals.
10. Working with Legacy Administration team lead on legacy marketing.
11. Remain current on developments to GDPR, especially to consent and ensure all campaigns comply with those guidelines.
12. As appropriate, to support and participate in any fundraising event organised by the Trust.
13. Undertake other tasks as appropriate as directed by the Head of Fundraising & Communications.

Core Purpose
To deliver high quality, accurate, and responsive financial support that ensures the smooth operation of Make-A-Wish finance function. This role is central to maintaining the integrity of financial data through timely processing of transactions, effective communication with stakeholders, and diligent reconciliation of accounts. By supporting both internal teams and external partners, the role helps uphold financial compliance and operational efficiency, enabling Make-A-Wish to focus on granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
Customer and Communication Support
- Monitor the finance mailbox daily, ensuring all emails are reviewed and responded to in a timely, professional, and accurate manner. Provide first-line support for internal and external customer queries, escalating complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate team member or manager.
- Handle incoming calls to the finance team, offering courteous and knowledgeable assistance. Accurately log call details and follow up on outstanding queries to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction.
Sales and Purchase Processing
- Process sales invoices accurately and efficiently in accordance with MAW’s financial procedures, ensuring correct coding, VAT treatment, and timely dispatch to customers.
- Set up new customers and suppliers on the finance system, verifying all required documentation and approvals are in place. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Process purchase ledger invoices (approx. 360 per month), ensuring they are matched to purchase orders, coded correctly, and approved in line with internal controls. Resolve discrepancies promptly to avoid payment delays.
- Create payment runs and upload onto the bank for approval, ensuring approvals are obtained in a timely manner
Reconciliations and Debt Management
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations regularly, identifying and resolving aged or unmatched items. Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor outstanding sales invoices, escalating overdue items to the relevant ‘requestor’ or budget holder. Support the credit control process by providing timely updates and assisting with follow-up actions.
- Conduct income reconciliations on a regular basis, ensuring all income is accurately recorded and discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned, maintaining clear audit trails and supporting documentation for all entries.
Expense and Credit Card Management
- Process monthly credit card statements, ensuring all transactions are supported by receipts, correctly coded, and approved in line with company policy.
- Review and process employee expense claims, checking for accuracy, policy compliance, and appropriate authorisation before submission for payment.
Inventory and Stock Control
- Conduct stock takes at agreed intervals, working with relevant departments to ensure accurate counts and investigate variances. Support the maintenance of accurate stock records in the finance system.
Financial Recording and Reporting
- Post and process journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments to ensure the general ledger reflects accurate and complete financial information. Maintain supporting documentation for all entries.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation, making recommendations to line manager and supporting implementation
General and Ad-Hoc Support
- Support with ad-hoc finance tasks as required, including data entry, reporting, and assisting with audits or internal reviews.
- Provide cover for team members during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of service and workload management. Take on additional duties as appropriate to the level of the role and contribute to team objectives.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in a finance or accounts role, with a solid understanding of financial processes such as invoicing, reconciliations, and ledger management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- GCSE Maths or equivalent, grade 4/5 (C) or above.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to respond professionally to internal and external queries.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in using finance systems, particularly Xero and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
