- Lead the Impact and Grant Communications function during a year of strategic transition, ensuring teams remain focused, supported and aligned around organisational priorities.
- Provide leadership and oversight across impact measurement, evaluation and grant communications activity, ensuring high-quality delivery across the department.
- Support the development of strong foundations for the first year of the charity’s new strategy, helping shape processes, priorities and ways of working alongside the senior leadership team.
- Oversee how the charity measures, evaluates and communicates impact, ensuring evidence and insight are used effectively to inform decision-making and storytelling.
- Lead and support teams responsible for communicating the impact of grant funding across fundraising, communications and external audiences.
- Build strong relationships with senior colleagues, researchers, hospital partners, Trustees and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted and collaborative partner.
- Support strategic communications activity linked to major organisational priorities, including high-value funding cases, reporting and thought leadership.
- Use insight, evidence and evaluation to help identify opportunities, strengthen strategic thinking and support continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to managers and specialist teams, creating an environment where people feel empowered, informed and able to do their best work.
- Represent the directorate at senior meetings, committees and external events as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Leadership experience within a charity, healthcare, research, policy or related environment.
- Experience leading teams through periods of change, growth or organisational transition.
- Strong strategic thinking and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance immediate delivery with longer-term organisational goals.
- Excellent relationship management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders and partners.
- Experience communicating complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
- Experience leading or overseeing complex programmes, functions or cross-organisational projects.
- Ability to interpret and present insight, evidence and impact information in ways that are clear, engaging and accessible.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to support, motivate and develop high-performing teams.

About CARE
CARE International is a global humanitarian organisation leading the fight to end poverty in the world’s most challenging situations. Women and girls are at the centre of our work, because we cannot overcome poverty and inequality until all people have equal rights and opportunities. We know that when a crisis erupts, women are often the first to pick up the pieces, so we work alongside women, so they have the power to make change where it’s needed most. Founded in 1945, CARE currently works in over 100 countries and last year alone reached 53.4 million people through nearly 1,500 projects.
Why work for CARE International UK?
This is a compelling opportunity to take on a senior programme management role within CARE International UK at a time when the organisation is adapting to evolving funding relationships and increasing engagement with innovative funding mechanisms and corporate partners. As Senior Programme Manager, you will be entrusted with leading some of CARE’s most complex and high-value programmes, ensuring strong delivery, compliance, and impact across diverse contexts.
The role offers meaningful exposure to non-traditional donors and private sector partnerships, alongside CARE’s established institutional funding, with a particular focus on francophone Africa. You will work closely with country offices, partners, and donors to navigate complexity, support effective delivery, and respond to new ways of working, while maintaining CARE’s strong commitment to gender equality and locally led approaches. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced programme manager looking to deepen their expertise in complex portfolio delivery and innovative partnerships within a values-driven organisation.
About you
You are an experienced programme management professional with a strong track record of managing complex, multi-country or high-value programmes funded by institutional and corporate donors, with experience managing projects across the full project lifecycle, from contracting and start-up through implementation, reporting, and close-out. About the role
The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for independently managing a mixed portfolio of humanitarian and/or development programmes, including some of CARE International UK’s most complex and high-value projects. The role leads on programme oversight across the full project lifecycle, from contracting and start-up through to delivery, reporting, and close-out, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and risk management.
The role involves close collaboration with country offices, partners, and internal teams, including Programme Finance, Programme Funding, and technical advisers, as well as acting as a senior interface with donors. The portfolio will likely include grants as well as commercial contracts and may include corporate partnerships in addition to institutional donors.
Key skills and abilities required include strong programme and financial management capability, excellent donor and stakeholder relationship management, the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities, and confidence working independently while escalating risks appropriately. The role requires sound judgement and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

About the role:
For someone trying to move forward after contact with the criminal justice system, safe housing can be the turning point that changes everything. As a Housing Advice Worker, you’ll be part of Single Homeless Project (SHP’s) Pan London Housing Advice and Interventions Service, delivered in partnership with St Mungo’s and the Ministry of Justice, helping people on probation find clearer, safer routes away from homelessness and housing crisis.
Based in Brent, with work connecting into designated London boroughs, you’ll work closely with Probation Services to support clients to sustain their current accommodation or secure new housing where needed. Day to day, you’ll hold a caseload, complete strengths-based assessments, explore housing, financial, employment and wider support needs, and build practical plans that turn pressure and uncertainty into clear next steps. You’ll also identify risks and safeguarding concerns, keep accurate case records, liaise with housing providers and specialist agencies, and work alongside partners such as probation and police to help people access accommodation and opportunities that are safe, realistic and sustainable.
This is a Monday to Friday role in a friendly, supportive and high-performing team that is serious about the difference good housing advice can make. At SHP, you’ll be supported to grow your knowledge of housing, homelessness and criminal justice practice, build confidence in multi-agency working, and develop your career in a values-led organisation where your work has real purpose every day.
About you:
- You understand that housing advice can be life-changing, and bring either experience in supported housing, floating support or a relevant qualification, alongside a working knowledge of housing legislation.
- You can hold your nerve when situations are complicated, emotionally charged or fast-moving, keeping people’s safety, choices and next steps at the centre.
- You know how to get things moving through strong partnership work, building the kind of relationships with agencies, services and professionals that open doors for clients.
- You care about delivering a service that feels human, purposeful and high-quality, where people are informed, respected and supported to take more control of their future.
- You’re organised, self-motivated and ready to manage a varied caseload, balancing competing priorities without losing sight of the person behind each case.
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.
