We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. Kinship has been awarded funding to develop the first ever training programme for kinship carers. The programme will support all kinship carers across England in the caring role.

This is a new role and will be part of a brand-new team responsible for the delivery of this national training programme. You’ll be supporting the team to deliver high-quality in-person and online training across the country. You’ll help co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of our workshops.

You’ll need to be an experienced and effective administrator and clear communicator You’ll be organised, calm and detail orientated and be great at managing your time and working to consistently high standards.

You’ll work with initiative and be curious – always thinking ahead, anticipating need and seeking opportunities to improve our service and the experience for kinship carers.

As part of this new training service, you’ll receive training and development to support you to succeed in this role.

There will be some travel across England either to support the training programme, meet with colleagues or attend learning and development sessions. This may include overnight stays from time to time. We’re happy to discuss how this could work best if you have kinship caring responsibilities.

Fundraising Development Manager

We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to oversee the Fundraising Development Manager position for a fixed-term, covering maternity leave. The successful applicant will have some professional experience of fundraising and/or education development, together with experience of developing good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

About you and the role

The purpose of this role is to head up development of key partnerships and income streams that will ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and able to deliver our impact at scale. You will be responsible for the assessment of, and managing relationships with, all major new partners. You will be accountable for delivering on an ambitious income generation strategy, and for monitoring and effectively reporting our impact. You will ensure that our impact and the importance of our work is effectively communicated to potential new partners, working closely with the Head of Communications and supported by the Marketing Manager. You will work alongside the Chief Executive and the Head of Finance to develop annual plans and budgets and work closely with the Director of Transformation and School Engagement Manager to ensure projects are secured, fully funded and financially sustainable.

We’re looking for someone with genuine passion for our mission, who has the confidence to hit the ground running and articulate why what we’re doing is so important. Key responsibilities:

● Developing a comprehensive income generation and marketing strategy that supports the delivery of the charity’s objectives and activities

● Manage and maintain existing significant partnerships with key funders (trusts, corporates and major donors), identifying new opportunities to deepen and extend relationships where desirable

● Manage, support and mentor the Development team, leading on strategy and planning for the department to ensure that income generation targets for fundraising are achieved

● Develop an effective marketing strategy to articulate our impact and the benefits of our programmes to potential new partners

● Working with the Director of Transformations to maintain a healthy sales pipeline of new school/ MAT partners, helping to identify and develop relationships

● Manage, motivate and develop your team, setting goals and evaluating performance, coaching and motivating staff and supporting professional development and staff wellbeing

● Play a key role in preparing for and ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Strategy & Impact trustee sub-committee

● Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, plans and reports, as necessary for Trustees and external partners

● Ensure we comply with fundraising regulations and best practice

Skills & experience:

● You have genuine passion for our mission, to improve kids’ health through transforming food and food education in schools

● Significant experience in a senior fundraising role (Head of / Director) with a strong track record of achievement

● Demonstrable ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

● Understanding of effective impact measurement and communication

● Experience writing reports / presentations / successful grant proposals

● Excellent written and oral communication skills

● Understanding of charity finance and ability to develop project budgets for funders

● Experience of line management and development of teams

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.

Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation. This role is an exciting opportunity to help support the mission of the charity through a programme of income-generating corporate cooking teambuilding challenges. We have been running these successfully for several years and are now looking to replicate the model outside London, starting with a pilot in central Birmingham.

You will facilitate and run our Food Invention Challenges in a kitchen facility in central Birmingham, collaborating with corporate teams, local stakeholders and the venue.

You will work directly with children and young people with learning disabilities who are living in a residential home near Ludlow, providing them with advocacy support on a fortnightly basis. You will have experience and a passion for working with children and/or adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will empower and support them to ensure their voices are heard within decision–making processes that effect their lives and keep in regularly contact with children and young people to ensure their best interests are safeguarded.

You will be a capable ambassador for Coram Voice with the ability to engage effectively with professionals, carers, other stakeholders and most importantly children and young people.

About SARSAS

SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress, and help rebuild the lives, of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.

SARSAS also campaigns and raises awareness about rape and sexual violence to change the narrative about sexual violence and enable survivor’s voices to be heard. Partnership work with a range of agencies locally and nationally is a priority to enable social change.

SARSAS works to feminist principles: this underpins both what our service is and how it is run. Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of the effects of trauma at the forefront of our approach to support.

Contract information

Salary: £36,000 pa (Full Time Equivalent)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Based: Bristol based with up to 50% working from home

Annual leave: 27 days + bank holidays (pro-rata)

Contract: Fixed term up to 12 months

A fantastic livery company focused on being a philanthropic force for good are looking for a Scheme Manager - Residential Housing Schemes, on a part time role spread over 5 days.

Location:London based with travel in London, East Grinstead & Shotesham

Salary:  £35k FTA, pro-rated to £27,500 plus generous benefits package

Contract: 12-month FTC

Hours: 27.5 hours over Monday- Friday. 9am -3.30pm

As the Scheme Manager you will be working in one of the residential housing schemes based in East London, managing repairs, designing social activities and engaging with residents. You will also be assisting in regulatory and compliance work, reviewing processes and suggesting improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• All areas of resident management including welcoming new residents, completing inductions to ensure they understand the facilities available and understand the scheme processes, completing daily welfare checks and reporting concerns relating to safeguarding.
• Delivering a holistic sheltered housing service to every resident, helping them maintain their tenancy, access housing services, and sign posting to other service providers.
• Monitoring and reporting any breaches of tenancy agreements, managing complaints and escalating where necessary. 
• Management of delegated scheme budgets in partnership with the Finance team ensuring compliance to policy and procedures.
• The management of site contractors for the services requested e.g. gardening, window cleaning, cleaning and maintenance.
• Overseeing the management of regular building inspections, identifying elements of maintenance required, report repairs and implement works, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, safety and security.
• Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the Scheme, ensuring fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing and complete all fire testing logs. Ensuring health and safety procedures and policies are adhered to across the scheme and paperwork and training are compliant.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in managing a residential scheme, working with older people and knowledge of related services and benefits, with a strong understanding of housing legislation and the regulatory framework within housing. Experience of managing health and safety and any safeguarding issues and concerns within a residential scheme, is also key.
