About the role

The Children's Adviser role is designed to provide advice and support to children in the area, both remotely and in person where appropriate. The aim is to ensure that children understand the asylum process, have access to quality legal representation, and are supported in accessing their rights and entitlements.

Camden People First is a user‑led organisation run by and for adults with learning disabilities. We promote independence, equality, and self‑advocacy across the London Borough of Camden. Our work centres on empowering people to speak up, make their own choices, and influence the services and policies that affect their lives.

Role Purpose

To provide high‑quality, person‑centred advocacy for adults with learning disabilities, and neurodivergency in Camden. The Community Advocate helps individuals speak up, be heard, access services, challenge unfair treatment, and participate fully in decisions about their lives. The role also strengthens Camden People First’s presence in the community and supports our self‑advocacy groups.

As a Community Advocate, you will empower people to have a bigger voice, to be heard, and to be actively involved in decisions that affect their lives.

You will support individuals with issues including wellbeing and health, housing needs, accessing services, organising and attending meetings, and ensuring their rights are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

Advocacy & Empowerment

• Support adults with learning disabilities and neurodivergent) to express their views, wishes, and concerns in their own words.
• Provide independent advocacy during meetings, assessments, reviews, and care‑planning processes.
• Support people with a range of communication needs using accessible approaches (signs, symbols, photos, multimedia, etc).
• Help service users understand information and choices using accessible communication (Easy Read, plain English, visuals).
• Encourage and develop self‑advocacy skills so service users can speak up for themselves.
• Manage a caseload of up to 5 active cases at any time.
• Attend meetings and forums alongside service users.

Community Engagement

• Work in partnership with local services, including Camden Council Social Services, health providers, housing teams, and voluntary and community organisations.
• Promote the rights of people with learning disabilities across Camden.
• Support adults with learning disabilities to access community activities, employment, education, and social opportunities.

Casework & Representation

• Manage a caseload of individuals needing one‑to‑one advocacy.
• Attend multi‑agency meetings (such as MASH) to ensure the person’s voice is heard and respected.
• Challenge decisions or practices that undermine an adult with learning disabilities’ rights, wellbeing, or independence.

Safeguarding & Rights Protection

• Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with Camden People First policies and statutory guidance.
• Promote the principles of the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Equality Act, and Human Rights Act and other legislation.
• Ensure all advocacy is independent, confidential, and led by the person.

Administration & Reporting

• Keep accurate case notes, outcome records, and monitoring information.
• Contribute to service evaluation, member feedback, and quality improvement.
• Support the development of accessible information and Easy Read materials.

Internal Relationships

Reports to the Director, with caseload-only supervision by the Volunteer Caseload Supervisor.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Level 4 Independent Advocacy qualification
• Experience working with people with learning disabilities or other vulnerable groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including accessible communication methods.
• Understanding of relevant legislation (MCA, Care Act, Equality Act).
• Ability to build trust, maintain boundaries, and work in a user‑led environment.
• Confident in challenging decisions and advocating assertively but respectfully.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Regional Gifts in Wills Fundraising Officer to be one of the faces of legacy fundraising, and lead key areas of legacy activity, with a focus on inspiring individuals to remember the Woodland Trust in their will.

This role is advertised as part-time, 22.5 hours per week.

The Role:

• Manage and grow a pipeline of legacy supporters across all stages of the donor journey, increasing pledger numbers, loyalty, and legacy income.
• Act as a visible ambassador for gifts in wills by leading stewardship and prospecting events, delivering talks and briefings, and engaging confidently with supporters and colleagues through one-to-one and group communications.
• Provide personalised and sensitive responses to gifts in wills enquiries, ensuring an excellent supporter experience and strong relationship-building.

The Senior Finance Assistant and Payroll Administrator will provide financial administrative support for the Finance Team, and the payroll function for the organisation, allowing appropriate information to be provided to stakeholders at all times.

You will support the implementation of our Finance strategy and have empathy for the work of Teesside Hospice.

You will assist in providing a communication link between the Finance Department and other departments who rely on robust support.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure the effective day to day operation of your duties, thus allowing The Financial Controller to prepare timely, complete and accurate management accounts. A large element of the role involves taking the lead on the purchase ledger system. The role also involves other aspects such as daily logging of donations, weekly reconciliation of lottery membership records, bank reconciliations, submitting Gift Aid claims and more outlined in the duties section.

You will lead in preparing, running and finalising the payroll for companies in the Teesside Hospice group. You will be the payroll link between the Finance Department and other departments who rely on our support. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and Group Director of Resources to ensure the effective day to day operation of the payroll, thus allowing for accuracy of payments to staff alongside meeting all of the necessary regulatory requirements i.e. apprenticeship levy, SMP, auto enrolment.

This is a rare opportunity to be on the front line of human rights research and advocacy, joining a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Asia. You will develop a good relationship with stakeholders and ensure effective and creative ways to advance the research and advocacy on Asia.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• To plan, organise and undertake research, monitoring and reporting on freedom of religion or belief and related human rights issues in the Asia region, through regular fact-finding assignments when and where security conditions allow, briefings with key stakeholders and the development of reliable in-country and external partnerships and collaboration.
• To produce materials, including general and thematic briefings and in-depth reports, documenting and analysing the situation of freedom of religion or belief and human rights in Asia, as well as advocacy recommendations.
• To develop and implement, with oversight from the Asia Team Leader, a practical, effective and innovative advocacy strategy for Asia, taking into account global geopolitics.
• To undertake awareness raising initiatives and advocacy focused on local (when possible), regional and international levels, and in consultation with the Asia Team Leader, work with CSW’s External Affairs Team to inform advocacy initiatives in the UK, EU, US, the United Nations, and with other governments and forums.
• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations in relation to the Asia region.

The Person

A committed Christian with a university degree and a strong commitment to human rights and justice, you will be fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Manderin), have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to take the initiative and to work well under pressure.

The focus of the role is to offer wellbeing and emotional support, including one-to-one sessions for recruits struggling with anxiety, low mood, or stress - and where capacity allows to offer these same services to staff.  You will work as part of a wider team of staff at RAF Halton, including military training staff, other pastoral support staff, and an on-site medical team. Importantly as a member of the RAF Benevolent Fund team, you will have access to a whole range of support and resources to call upon – for those you support, and for your professional development.

This role will require the post holder to be proactive and identify areas for enhancing and improving how the job operates.  Shaping strong relationships with the RAF team around you will be vital; as such, you will need to be a clear and confident communicator. Being able to understand the unique culture and challenges of a military environment is key – the Recruit Training School is an OFSTED inspected training school and is the entry point for all non-commissioned joiners to the RAF.  The youngest of these are aged 16, however trainees may also be older, and married with children. You will need to be flexible in your approach to supporting a range of ages and needs.

The Role

You’ll join a small, collaborative compliance function, working closely with colleagues across fundraising, data and legal teams. This is a hands-on role with a mix of operational delivery and process improvement.

You will play a key role in helping the organisation maintain high standards of compliance across all fundraising activity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and triaging a busy compliance inbox, ensuring queries are responded to or escalated effectively
• Reviewing fundraising and marketing communications to ensure compliance with internal policies, data protection legislation and the fundraising code of practice
• Supporting GDPR and consent management processes, including maintaining records and reviewing documentation
• Assisting with the review of legitimate interest assessments and consent frameworks
• Monitoring third-party fundraising activity, including reviewing call recordings and identifying any compliance risks
• Supporting the production of complaints reports and analysis, providing insight to improve processes and supporter experience
• Contributing to the development of guidance and internal resources to strengthen compliance practices
• Building strong working relationships across fundraising, legal, data and supporter care teams

The International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC), a learned society, is a charity and company limited by guarantee and registered in the UK. Over recent months, ISAC carried out a strategy review and is now progressing priority strategic objectives. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer to advance a number of priorities under a general “communication” heading.

The Communications Officer will initially be employed part time (0.6 FTE) on a temporary basis (12 months). They will be line managed by the ISAC CEO and must be able to work within a pre-existing team. Principle duties and responsibilities will be to assist the Trustees and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the areas of Member Society and Industry engagement. Additional duties will include helping to develop SOPs to operationalise  ISAC’s Communication Strategy, populate ISAC’s social media accounts, contribute to the redesign of ISAC’s website and provide cover for the CEO and Executive Officer, as required.

Salary: Will depend on qualifications and experience.

Outline Job Description

The ISAC Communications Officer will project manage the following areas of activity under the supervision of the CEO and in liaison with the Executive Officer. 

1.1 Member Societies 

The Communications Officer will:

1.1.1 Work with ISAC’s Member Society Engagement Group which is a sub group of the society’s Executive Committee, to realise their strategic objectives.

1.1.2 Make contact with each of the Society’s Member Societies (currently 107).

1.1.3 Undertake research if contact details are out of date to make the initial contact.

1.1.4 Open a dialogue with the Member Societies.

1.1.5 Request updated contact details and society information as required.

1.1.6 Produce a paper summarising the different areas of activity undertaken by ISAC’s Member Societies.

1.1.7 At the request of the CEO, send the Member Societies regular newsletters and updates about the Society and the benefits of membership.

1.1.8 Create a template for the member societies to complete as details change.

1.1.9 Diarise AGMs or key annual / biennial meetings for when member society key personnel may change and proactively request updated information as these take place.

1.1.10 Undertake a membership survey, if required.

1.1.11 Engage with membership through online media (social media, websites, online journal).

1.1.12  Take overall responsibility for Member Societies under the guidance and supervision of the CEO.

 

 

1.2 Liaison with Commercial Companies

The Communications Officer will:

1.2.1 Work with ISAC’s Industry Liaison Group which is a sub group of the society’s Executive Committee, to realise their strategic objectives.

1.2.2 Update the details in ISAC’s industry database.

1.2.3 Identify commercial companies (pharmaceutical / diagnostic) to add to ISAC’s industry database.

1.2.4 Aid ISAC’s Industry Liaison Group to complete an industry review and produce a strategy document to identify opportunities to increase commercial support for both the Society itself (if required) and for the biennial International Conference of Chemotherapy and Infection (ICC). 

1.2.5 Identify key prospects.

1.2.6 Develop tailored approaches to these companies.

1.2.7 Make these approaches.

1.2.8 Facilitate discussions and negotiations as they develop.

1.2.9 Maintain the relationship and engagement with corporate partners and other supporters.

1.2.10 Fulfil contracts and ensure appropriate representation at the ICC and other meetings.

1.2.11 Ensure corporate partner programme and sponsorship and exhibition offerings at the ICC and other meetings are complementary.

1.3 Communication

The Communications Officer will:

1.3.1 Establish an internal communication / reporting structure and plan with the CEO during the handover phase.

1.3.2 Produce an external communications plan for the Society to include all aspects of communication if required to include a strategy (24 month cycle) for the newsletter.

1.3.3 Produce and maintain a database of E-mail addresses and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.

1.3.4 Design, construct and disseminate a regular newsletter under the guidance of the CEO.

1.3.5 Take overall responsibility for communication under the guidance and supervision of the CEO.

1.4 Website

The Communications Officer will:

1.4.1 Provide recommendations on redesign and usability of ISAC’s current website.

1.4.2 Be responsible for updating the design and content under the guidance and supervision of the CEO / Executive Officer.

1.4.3 Work with the CEO / Executive Officer to establish requirements and access.

1.4.4 Act as the Society’s webmaster to update content as requested.

1.4.5 Proactively update the content on Member Societies, Scientific and Educational Meetings and Archives.

Prerequisites and qualifications:

• Education to degree level.
• Previous experience in a communications role is essential.
• Previous experience working in international organisations is an advantage.
• Previous experience working with a professional society or with pharmaceutical / diagnostic companies is an advantage.
• Must have excellent communications skills (communicating in English in a professional, business style).
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with people from different nationalities, disciplines and backgrounds.
• Ability to grasp new tasks and adapt to new challenges quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams), content management systems, social media.
• Team player, but also able to work autonomously.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Must be able to work from home or a pre-existing office as ISAC does not have office premises.
• Ability to travel to meetings (including to CEO’s base in Aberdeen UK).
