We are recruiting for a Divisional Children’s Worker to provide practical knowledge, expertise, and example of children’s ministry. Working to develop and deliver a children’s work strategy to enable local corps and centres to raise leaders and children who are disciples of Jesus in our tradition of social change and justice. The South West Divisional Headquarters is in Exeter and the applicant will be required to travel there at least once fortnightly as well as visiting various areas across the division including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol and Gloucestershire. Although, this post will be more focused in Somerset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
Key responsibilities include:
- Equipping and empowering children’s leaders to enhance their communities and engage with children and the issues that affect them.
- Enabling children to experience ‘Fullness of life with Jesus’ in broader contexts. This might involve leading event and residential opportunities as well as children’s work in corps contexts.
- Contributing into the planning and review process for the programmes and activities across the division.
This role has an occupational requirement that you must be a committed and practising Christian. As well as being an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills, you will have:
- A recognised qualification in youth work and/or good experience of working with young people in outreach, discipleship, and leadership.
- Practical experience of developing community youth outreach projects and schools based mentoring programmes.
- Relevant technical skills, including project management, finance, stakeholder engagement, social media.
- The ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, overnight and residential weeks when necessary.
- A clean driving licence

The important stuff
Salary: £21,000 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,500)
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Spear Programme

- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management

Church Community

You will inspire a love of reading in the children we visit and be a friendly face for their parents/carers, providing support and information where needed. You will be confident, practical and able to think on your feet.

We are looking for a Recovery Support Worker to join our passionate, and dedicated team in Hounslow. In this role you will support some of the most vulnerable individuals in the borough, helping them identify their individual strengths and aspirations.
The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service with a large team of colleagues with specialisms in Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health to provide a recovery based approach to 86 clients across our different sites.
In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will:

Work with clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation.

Provide support to maintain independence in the community, build their skills for employment, manage their health needs, and look towards a brighter future.

Oversee housing management responsibilities to ensure we deliver safe, high-quality services.
In this role you will work on a weekly shift rota including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. Staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.

Experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.

Have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues.

Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.
Hours: 35 hours per week FTE, we will consider flexible hours & 3 or 4 day week working.

As a Policy Lead, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our policy and public affairs engagement plans that ensure a strong and influential voice for individuals affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
Working closely with the Head of Policy and Campaigns and the Policy Manager, you will actively engage in effective policy development and advocacy efforts, making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of people across the UK. Join our team and be a driving force in creating positive change for those impacted by these conditions.
This role will require some attendance at Scottish Parliament, or Northern Ireland Assembly and other Government offices for face-to-face meetings.

- develop and deliver evidence-based policy initiatives to transform services
- build and maintain relationships with decision makers across Scotland and Northern Ireland
- communicate with them succinctly and effectively to amplify our voice
- keep track of policy developments in Scotland and Northern Ireland
