Our services (one being a specific women only service) provide accommodation and additional emergency bed spaces to people with a Hackney connection, who are at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping, and also have additional support needs which include; substance use, mental health or longer term complex needs.

Our hostels offer a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. The project is committed to supporting continued client participation in all aspects of its work.

LGBTQ+ Heritage Project Worker

Q:alliance provides support, information and representation for the LGBTQ+ people who live, work and play in Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have detailed knowledge of the issues and challenges that organisations and individuals face locally. It’s our goal to create more safe spaces and resources to ensure the LGBTQ+ community is well represented and supported.

This exciting new role will help deliver the directives of a history and heritage project funded by the Heritage Lottery. The project will support the erudition of LGBTQ+ heritage in Milton Keynes, advancing local communities’ understanding of Milton Keynes’ LGBTQ+ history and inspiring a commitment to encapsulating, celebrating, and feeling connected through shared heritage. This post will be key to extending our reach into seldom asked communities, as well as securing relationships with founding community members. This role will support our Communications and Engagement Manager to develop safer spaces for LGBTQ+ local communities through collaboration with partner agencies and delivery of LGBTQ+ cultural competency training to a range of stakeholders involved in the wider project.

You will work cross-departmentally and participate in effective monitoring systems to ensure robust reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• Project Development - Develop and implement the directives of the funded project, supporting key partners in their collaboration with Q:alliance. Communicate project aims with communities and stakeholders and establish meaningful engagement in the concept of encapsulating heritage and celebrating differing LGBTQ+ identities in Milton Keynes. Support the gathering of audio histories and the collection and succession of community artefacts through the archive. Evaluate and analyse impact.

• E-book creation – Support the Communications and Engagement Manager on the development of an E-book to capture the outputs of the project, including key heritage findings and personal stories.

• Event coordination – Plan, organise and support the delivery of history clubs in line with the project plan, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of invested community members. Support the curation of associated exhibition events.

• Stakeholder and community engagement – Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to plan engagement and outreach activities in line with the directives of the funded project. Forge and support enduring relationships with key partners, strengthening our commitment to building an alliance of cross-sector compassionate advocates for the LGBTQ+ community in its diverse forms.

• Training – Support the development and delivery of LGBTQ+ cultural competency training to a range of stakeholders involved in the project.

• Data capture and intelligence - Support Q:alliance’s commitment to sustaining a contemporary data and monitoring mechanism, guaranteeing we can deliver thorough evaluations of our services and competent feedback to our funders and stakeholders on the efficacy of our work.

You will serve as a prominent point of contact for the LGBTQ+ Heritage Project and encourage long-term advocates of our organisation and the community’s engagement in history, heritage and legacy work. You will improve the ways in which our team communicates and responds to the needs of seldom heard members of the LGBTQ+ local community, inspiring innovation in our engagement with heritage concepts.

South East London Mind and Bridge Support are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Greenwich Mental Health Hub.  This will form part of the new transformation of mental health services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service will bring together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

The integrated team will provide support to people with long-term mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Advisor with experience of working within mental health services. Applicants should have strong line management skills alongside experience of completing assessments, managing a diverse caseload, working in a busy work environment, and possess effective skills in communication. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

On our structured Traineeship scheme, you’ll gain first-hand experience and on-the-job training in what we do. You’ll be expected to work full time on a rota basis. Our placements involve a range of working patterns such as shifts, including evenings and weekends, night work in our fast-paced Rapid Response Outreach team and Monday to Friday 9-5 roles.

This new and exciting role is part of CouRAGEus, a unique pan-London project established to provide specialist advocacy, counselling, resilience and prevention programs for black and minoritised young women and girls (YWG) experiencing gendered violence, mental health and/or multiple disadvantage. 

About you 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dynamic individual with an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of minoritised and multiple disadvantaged YWG with experiences of gendered violence. You will have experience of working with YWG’s with high-risk presentations, including self-injury and suicidal risk and adept at providing crises support and more in-depth work that cultivates self-protective factors as well as meaningful interventions and strategies that aim to reduce and mitigate risk. 

You will deliver holistic, YWG’s centred, individualised care pathways that are gender informed, trauma focused and aimed at addressing multiple areas of disadvantage including mental health challenges, problematic substance use and homelessness. You will be well versed in advocating on behalf of YWG to multi-agency services to ensure support, protection and choice for the YWG’s you represent. In this role, the Advocate will also develop relationships with local communities and professionals with an aim to raise awareness about sexual violence, improve communities and professionals’ responses as well as to improve access to services for survivors. This work will be carried out through one to one advocacy sessions, workshops, trainings, consultations and other means.

You will receive training on delivering GBV Resilience Programs that build psychological and emotional resilience in young people (YP) to strengthen protective factors to promote positive mental and emotional well-being in YP. You will co-produce and deliver training and awareness raising work for professionals, including first responders and managers in GBV related services / mental health provisions, educational centres and non-abusing family members and carers to facilitate appropriate response towards YP at risk.

You will therefore be skilled in nurturing and developing YP voices and active engagement within such forums. You will be skilled at working alongside young women with an acute awareness of how to successfully co-create and co-deliver training packages to professionals and the wider community, thus centralising YP as the leaders and change agents in the project.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker (known internally as Project Worker) to join our mixed gender 30 bed space high support service. The service works with clients who have support needs which may include substance use, mental health and/or physical health in partnership with other agencies.

The project provides a client-centred recovery based approach tailored to the needs of the individual which is gender specific. Staff promote engagement with internal and external services with the purpose of enabling clients to positively progress in their recovery journey. 

In these vital roles you will: 

• Work together with clients to identify their personal aims and ambitions and support them towards achieving them.

• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.

• Work as part of a dedicated team in the hostel/ accommodation setting to provide a high quality, positive and safe service to clients.

• Keep up to date administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety. 

• Work on the weekly shift rota that includes early and late shifts as well as some weekends and bank holidays.

About you

• Have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in East Kent and West Kent.

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.

Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Provide personalised information, advice and support.

· Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes

· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.

· You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.

· Setting up and running virtual groups.

Working as a Night Security Concierge, you will provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night. You will be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system; you will also report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team. You will be required to lone work in this post.

4 nights on, 4 nights off. Start shift at 22.15pm and finish shift at 08.15am. This is a waking night role.

About you 

• We are looking for people with good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect homeless or vulnerable adults.

• You will need to be able to interact with clients in a positive and friendly manner, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults.

• You should have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your initiative; to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations.

• You’ll also be expected to be punctual, awake and alert at all times during your shift and act with integrity, within our policies and procedures.

You don’t need to have direct experience; above all we are looking for hard-working, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

Our work reaches into the heart of the communities of Oxfordshire, and we’re pleased to be expanding our Community Engagement work into the areas of Cherwell and West Oxfordshire. Job Title: Community Engagement Worker (North and West)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £23,000 – £28,000 per year dependent on experience

Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays (to increase after 3-years)

Base: Office/home-based with frequent travel across Cherwell and West Oxfordshire.

Job Purpose:

To support visually impaired people to live independent and active lives by providing a range of activities and groups across the north and west of Oxfordshire.

Duties: 

• Setting up and supporting peer-to-peer support groups
• Holding information days within local libraries, community centres and other key locations
• Setting up walking groups as part of our Green Walks Project
• Demonstrating and setting up daily living equipment and assistive technology with support from the tech team
• Assisting in the setup of befriending partnerships alongside the Volunteer Coordinator
• Connect, share, and learn with partners and other organisations
• Being a point of contact for MyVision within the North and West of Oxfordshire

Other duties:

• Provide talks and training as needed
• Support the Fundraising team with local events and initiatives
• Keep accurate records of interactions and activites
• Attend relevant meetings, training, workshops, and webinars
• Support the team with furthering the objectives and goals of the organisation
• Other reasonable duties set out by your line manager and Chief Executive
• There may, on occasion, be a need to work outside normal hours e.g., weekends and evenings

Person Specification

Essential skills, experience, and knowledge:

1. Experience of setting up community-based initiatives (for example: groups, clubs, activities etc)
2. The ability to research, create and manage working relationships with local groups/organisations across Oxfordshire.

4. Good communication skills in person, over the telephone and online
5. The ability to travel around the county, whether with your own car, public transport or Access to Work support, please see below regarding Access to Work.
6. Ideally located within or nearby Cherwell, West Oxfordshire, or Oxford city.

Desirable:

1. Lived or learned experience of visual impairment

As an Outreach & Development Worker you will ensure carers of all ages and backgrounds are aware of their rights and know how to receive support from Gaddum and other services they need at the right time for them. 

You will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships. 

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
