Job description

Blenheim (part of Humankind) is an established charity that provides support to drug and alcohol users, their family and carers. Better Lives Family Service is part of the Islington substance use treatment pathway operating a systemic, family focused approach and working alongside partnership agencies including Islington Children & Young People’s Service, statutory and non-statutory services, education, youth and family provision, health and housing agencies.

As a Family Worker in the Better Lives Family Service team, you will use your skills to deliver a range of evidenced based interventions to families in the London Borough of Islington who have been affected by drug or alcohol use. In this role, you will be part of a team providing targeted and specialist interventions to children, young people, families and friends (including parents and carers). You will have experience in working with complex needs in substance use treatment, mental health and/or therapeutic settings.

You will provide structured interventions, advice, information and support for children, young people and adults affected by familial substance use in one to one, family and group settings. You will also be responsible for identifying, monitoring and managing risk in relation to service users, including having an active role in safeguarding.
