The Communications Officer has responsibility for creating compelling content for digital, print and media communications, that accurately reflects the Bliss brand and tone of voice.

Media & Communications Officer

Business Disability Forum is the leading business membership organisation in disability inclusion. Our Communications and Marketing team is working hard to attract more businesses to join us as Members, to increase uptake of our events, products and services, and to help us to become more well-known for our policy work, research and campaigns.

The Digital Content and Communications Officer (DCCO) reports to the Digital Communications Manager and has responsibility for the SAT-7 UK website, digital marketing and social media. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website: Developing and updating SAT-7’s websites as inspiring platforms to raise profile, income and engagement.

Emails: Work with colleagues in the Communications Team and across the organisation to build, test and send responsive email templates for all SAT-7 UK’s email requirements (meeting SAT-7’s brand guidelines and conforming to industry standards). Use email marketing tool DotDigital to develop automated communications that strengthen supporter engagement and convert recipients into committed donors.

Content: Deliver engaging and inspiring rich media content across a range of digital channels, including web, email, social media and other digital marketing platforms. 

Social Media: Work closely with other team members to deliver strong social media content and engagement across various platforms, chiefly Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn.

Marketing: Support the digital marketing of SAT-7 resources and campaigns through social media advertising, external agencies and other channels as required, to engage more deeply with existing supporters and donors, acquire new supporters and to raise funds for SAT-7 UK.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• In all communication ensure consistent messaging, branding and tone of voice for the intended audience and that content conforms to the security and style guides.
• Use Customer Relationship Management systems to ensure efficient and secure storage of information.
• Assist members of the team in responding appropriately to communications from supporters and other organisations.
• Liaise with SAT-7 staff from other offices to share ideas and resources.
• Assist the Digital Communications Manager and represent SAT-7 UK at conferences and events as required.
• At all times operate within relevant statutory requirements and guidelines, following best practice recommendations wherever possible. Specially ensure compliance with the Fundraising Regulator and General Data Protection Regulations.

You'll be in a position of responsibility and will be able to work autonomously whilst also working with closely with and being supported to learn.

Cardiomyopathy UK is a specialist national charity for people affected by cardiomyopathy, a condition that affects the heart muscle.

This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on our new 5-year strategy. We have set ambitious goals to reach more people affected by cardiomyopathy, and this role will play a key part in helping us to achieve them.

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring marketing and communications person to join our Fundraising and Marketing team. You will be working alongside our existing Marketing and Communications Officer, where you will both be responsible for raising the profile of the charity across multiple channels so that more people can access our services and support our work, ensuring that key messages, tone of voice and brand guidelines are implemented effectively and consistently across the charity.

You will have a proven track record of working in marketing and communications, copy writing with excellent attention to detail. This role includes writing news articles and case studies, managing social media and website updates. Working collaboratively across the team, you will work alongside the marketing team to help develop, deliver and co-ordinate an integrated and effective marketing and communications plan.

As a small charity, this post is very much “hands-on” and requires an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time.

The role

• Helping secure positive media coverage for Family Fund and our work
• Supporting wide-ranging internal teams with communications and marketing advice and guidance, and targeted plans to help them achieve their goals
• Giving an editorial steer- editing and proof-reading so all our external content is in line with our brand guidelines.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest communications and digital marketing trends and putting these into practice in your role.

About you

You’ll be someone who is driven by our purpose, and excited about achieving impactful communications and marketing outcomes. You’ll need strong verbal and written communication skills as well as experience of copywriting, editing and proof-reading.

Also, you’ll need solid digital marketing skills, including creating engaging social media posts, across channels.

Finally, you’ll need to be confident in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

In this role you will be instrumental in enhancing the communication capabilities of our global programs and local partners. • Identify compelling stories and program updates for amplification on Street Child's channels.
• Enhance in-country communication capabilities by creating materials and providing training.
• Assist program participation in external events and integrate communication plans into project timelines.

Developing celebrity partnerships (30%):

• Maintain relationships with celebrity supporters and drive partnership plans.
• Secure high-profile support for our activities and manage social media coverage sensitively.
• Identify and engage new high-profile supporters and advise colleagues on partnership strategies.

Communications resource for fundraising teams (20%):

• Provide communication support for fundraising events and community resource generation.
• Establish communication calendars and plan for fundraising initiatives.

Wider MMC Support (20%):

• Manage our digital asset bank and ensure best practice use.
• Monitor key metrics, deliver the Annual Report, and maintain our brand identity.
• Represent Street Child internally and externally and fulfill other role-related duties.

The location for this role is in London, with a willingness to work in our London office three, or more, days of the week.
