We are looking for someone who can take a lead in supporting three of the four key functions of infrastructure and includes leadership & advocacy, partnerships & collaborations and capacity building for the sector.  These characterise the role of Thurrock CVS and help to support and strengthen locally based voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations and showcase the strength and worth of the sector.

In addition to the support to the sector, you will manage a fund developed to support the sector, overseeing the administration and governance of the fund, and supporting a wider team in building relationships with businesses to drive the social responsibility agenda.

We are looking for someone with experience of working and developing the VCFSE sector, including organisational structures such as in incorporated charities, CIC’s etc, training, funding advice, policy guidance and general support around funding and grant applications

This is a demanding role and requires someone with tenacity and a real interest in people and social action. Superb communication skills are a must, at all levels, as well as a good understanding of an organisations development and structure.

GFI Europe is at the forefront of the movement to advance plant-based and cultivated (grown from cells) meat in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering.

This is a new role to deliver projects to raise our profile, enhance our brand visibility, drive engagement, raise income and help us to develop positive relationships with our key stakeholders and audiences.

Key responsibilities, reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications:

• General: Provide day-to-day marketing and communications support to the wider organisation and to promote our programme delivery and our philanthropy advice offers.
• Web: Regularly review and update existing website content, including responding to requests from across the team.

• Brand Management: Manage our library of brand assets. Liaise with grant recipients regarding the acknowledgement of our funding and use of our logo. Review and establish a new online Photo Library, ensuring imagery is collected and stored in line with GDPR.
• Printed materials: Manage the design and production of reports and marketing collateral.
• Events: Support the delivery of organisational events and attend relevant external events to promote our programme delivery and our philanthropy advice offers.
• Video editing and creation: Develop our capacity to produce our own video content to support our marketing and communications activities.
• External suppliers: Liaise with printers, web agency, caterers and other suppliers when required.
• Contribute as a team member to the overall development of the Community Foundation.

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday working 9am - 5pm) position and with opportunities for hybrid working with some time each week in our office in central Devizes. Background:

Street Child believes that every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. Our projects focus on a combination of education, child protection and livelihood support to address the social, economic, and structural issues that underpin today’s education crisis. We partner with local organisations and communities to deliver our locally rooted programmes, using evidence to drive learning and the refinement and scale up of programmes to create maximum impact for the most children at the lowest cost. We pride ourselves on being willing to go to the world’s toughest places where others won’t, including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Street Child have helped over 148,000 children and families through education, child protection and food security programming. In 2022, 1 in 10 Community Based Classes in Afghanistan was run by Street Child, reaching over 60,000 Out of School children.

Part 1: Role Purpose:

The Head of Program position, reporting to the Country Director in Afghanistan, is responsible for leading a diverse programme portfolio across multiple provinces and partners in Afghanistan. The primary objectives of this role are to secure additional resources to support our work across the country and lead the design and implementation of Street Child’s programme in Afghanistan. Specifically, the postholder will lead the programmes team (including food security, child protection and education project managers and localisation advisor); lead our partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders; drive our resource mobilization; ensure effective programme implementation; provide strategic technical expertise in Education programming; and provide capacity building to staff and partners as required. Additionally, the Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for external liaison with national and international partners, government officials, and donor community, deputising for the Country Director as required. Ideally, the Senior Programme Manager will have technical expertise in education programming and/or child protection.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

(40%) Programme Management and Coordination:

• Provide matrix management oversight for the successful delivery of projects; including technical input, activity planning and day-to-day liaison with the team and implementing partners to ensure quality implementation within timeframe and budget.
• Provide technical support in areas of own expertise (ideally education programming), including programme development, quality assurance, technical backstopping, and capacity strengthening and coaching for education team and partner staff.
• Lead on the delivery of consortia programmes that CIC are part of.
• Coordinate the identification of partner capacity development needs and the provision of targeted support.
• Ensure all donor, internal and external reporting requirements are met in a timely manner, and are in compliance with donor requirements of project/ program allocation.
• Ensure comprehensive and professional M&E practices are in place.
• Ensure project reviews and the financial health of all projects by supervising expenditures within each project monthly and ensuring that well-structured corrective action is initiated and tracked where required.
• Maintain regular links with the operational teams to facilitate the provision of logistic, administrative and security support to facilitate program implementation.
• Establish meaningful working relationships with projects stakeholders and represent CIC at Education Cluster, ACBAR, Ministry of Education, UN agencies, and other international organizations working in education sector.

(40%) Programme Development and Resource Mobilization:

• Provide context analysis on the humanitarian/development context in the country.
• In close coordination with the Regional Representative and Country Director, identify and analyse new funding opportunities in Afghanistan in which Street Child can add value to the humanitarian and development response.
• Develop, implement, and review sector strategies and support the Country Director in identifying strategic opportunities for strengthening Street Child’s work in the country.
• Articulate strategic approaches, partnerships, management/ staffing plans, M&E and budgets.
• Cultivate partnerships, establish links and closely coordinate with relevant government stakeholders, UN agencies, INGO’s, L/NNGO’s, clusters, donors for programme development, including opportunities for consortia.
• Lead the project proposal development (budget, log frame, theory of change etc.) within the framework of the country and global strategy, with support from the programme teams.
• Support Country Director in formalizing a country strategy that aligns with global/regional strategies, priorities and programmes.

(20%) Leadership and Staff Management:

• Managing programme staff including field staff and ensuring direct reports have clear and realistic performance-based management goals
• Ensure that Street Child programme teams comply to Street Child’s security and other relevant operational, financial, logistics, admin, HR, safeguarding, and code of conduct regulations.
• Ensure that any risk to Street Child programming, projects or staff is communicated as soon as possible to and understood by the Country Director.
• Deputise for the Country Director as required.

Generic Responsibilities:

Part 3: Professional and Behavioural Competencies:

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in field of international development, social science or related field.
• Master’s degree in international development, humanitarian studies or related field.
• Accreditation or certification in education or child protection.

Experience and Knowledge:

• At least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian/development sectors.
• Proven track record in successful development and implementation of programmes in Afghanistan or comparable contexts including successful management of teams in humanitarian contexts.
• Significant experience of management in humanitarian/development programming.
• Technical knowledge and proven experience in delivering education programming.
• Experience of developing successful proposals to institutional donors in education, child protection and/or livelihoods.
• Fluency in both oral and written English, with experience in report writing at a graduate or professional level and excellent drafting skills
• Comprehensive understanding of sectoral trends and targets.
• Experience of delivering inclusive education programmes including EIE.
• Experience/knowledge of child protection or gender programming is highly desirable.

• Began discussion about the coordination and project management of all staff fundraising activities for ‘Make Some Noise Day’– the biggest day of the year for Global’s staff. 

Responsibilities of the role  

• Be a point of contact for all challenge participants and community fundraisers.

• Provide exceptional stewardship support and execute creative fundraising ideas to help participants reach their fullest potential.

• Work with fundraising platforms to create automated workflows and streamlined user journey. 

• Lead the ‘Noise Makers’ to deliver Global’s staff income target by helping to implement a variety of exciting and lucrative fundraising activities in all Global’s offices across the UK 

• Be the dedicated point of contact with Global’s People & Culture (HR) team to deliver internal fundraising operations relating to Make Some Noise Day.

• Work with the marketing team to design and deliver first-rate supporter care and resources for activities.

• Ensure accurate records are maintained on our fundraising databases, and assist with account administration including invoices, payments, contracts, processes and reporting.

• Write-up post-project reports and analysis, suggesting areas of improvement.

• Manage budgets, looking for efficiencies and proactively spotting fundraising opportunities.

• Oversee quarterly invoicing and stewardship of community recycling partners.

• Support with stewardship of partners and high-value-supporters, such as co-ordinating gift-in-kind donations, volunteering opportunities and studio tours for VIP guests.

• Identify, propose and develop fundraising opportunities within defined communities, such as schools and universities. 

• Provide colleagues with ad-hoc administrative support, such as responding to enquiries, minute-taking, invoicing, contracts and stocktakes, and support with prizes, event materials and marketing assets. 

What you will need  
 
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following: 

• Background: Experience of challenge events or community fundraising - ideally in a charity, media or client-focused environment.

• Planning: You’ll be highly organised, with demonstrable experience of working under pressure, often to tight deadlines.

• Community: You’ll be able to exercise empathy, patience and consistency when dealing with supporters. 

• Relationships & interpersonal skills: You’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport, relate to others and improve potential from relationships – over the phone, via email and face to face. 

• Attention to detail: An excellent level of literacy is crucial, along with an error-free ethic, double checking your work and eliminating mistakes and typos before sending on. 

• Systems: Ideally, you’ll have experience using online fundraising platforms (e.g. Just Giving and Enthuse) and will have a general understanding of how online ticketing and auction platforms work. 

• Writing: You’ll be confident in writing with a high standard of literacy and strong attention to detail. 

• Learning: You’ll have a desire for continuous learning of best fundraising practice.

• Numeracy: Strong numeracy with experience of using formula in Excel; managing budgets, on the look-out to raise the maximum amount of money for the greatest return, and the sense to take action when figures don’t look right. 

• Proactivity: A proactive thinker, always looking to spot opportunities and using your initiative to spot issues before they occur.

About Media Trust

At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. That’s why we’re working with hundreds of charities to strengthen their storytelling, advocacy and campaigning, press engagement and social media. We do this through media, communications and digital skills training delivered in partnership with our media and creative industry partners and by matching media industry volunteers with charities looking for help with content creation and other comms support. About the Roles

We are looking for two new people to join the Media Trust team as Project Coordinators. We have two positions available, one which can be a full-time or a part-time role, and one which is only available part-time.

Overview

The National Paralympic Heritage Trust (NPHT) has embarked on a new exciting five-year strategy – ‘Becoming Seamlessly Inclusive 2023-2028’. To help us on this journey, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Trust’s ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’, a key role within our organisation. We are looking for someone who would enjoy supporting our volunteers and trainees and who can demonstrate good administration skills.

The NPHT is a young dynamic and diverse organisation and a leader in accessible heritage. Over our first five years we have engaged with over half a million people with the ambition to reach a million over the next five years, with support from several major heritage funders including the Arts Council England (as an NPO), National Lottery Heritage Fund, Rothschild Foundation, Museums Association Esmee Fairbairn, Wolfson Foundation, Art Fund and Garfield Weston.

Background

The NPHT was formed in 2015 with the core purpose to ‘enlighten and inspire future generations by celebrating, cherishing and bringing the Paralympic heritage and its stories of human endeavour to life’ and in doing so, to challenge negative perceptions of disability. Our purpose is to celebrate, cherish and bring the heritage to life, in a compelling and evocative way, securing a legacy, feeding a growing public interest since London 2012, changing attitudes, and instilling national pride.

In our role as caretakers of one of the World’s most important disability history collections, the Paralympic movement, we aim to become, and help others become seamlessly inclusive. From 2023 to 2028 for every £2 we spend, we aim to positively broaden somebody’s understanding of disability and transcend heritage access.

In our first 5 years 2017 to 2022 we have reached over half a million people across the UK, and overseas (over 50% of our website visitors are from abroad representing 195 different nations), establishing an accredited museum and collection of international importance.  Our learning programmes and digital engagement are recognised as providing ground-breaking access to D/deaf and disabled audiences.

Our purpose and moral responsibility is to continue to bring this unique British heritage to life, building awareness of Paralympic history, sport and the individuals involved in its development.

We seek to do this in a compelling and evocative way that pushes the boundaries of access for all, changing attitudes, serving national inclusion agendas, and instilling national pride.

The founding partners are the British Paralympic Association, WheelPower – British Wheelchair Sport and Buckinghamshire Council.

Role of the Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer:

1. Overall

1.1 To support and develop the volunteer and work placement programmes.

1.2 To practically support two of our trainees with neurodiversity.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 To oversee the volunteer programme with support from the Head of Programmes.

2.2 To manage the ‘access to work’ programmes.

2.3 To act as a work coach to the trainees, helping them deliver their work plans.

2.4 To support the ‘Learning Manager and Collections Engagement Officer’ with the provision of volunteers for their programmes of work.

2.5 To support the work placement’s programme and individuals completing them, by planning out the work in liaison across the team and helping the ‘Head of Programmes’ carry out the work.

2.6 To support the Trust’s community liaison.

2.7 To support other programmes of work as directed.

3. Meetings and reporting

3.1 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’will be employed by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and be responsible to the Board of Trustees.

3.2 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will report to, be managed and supported by the ‘Head of Programmes’.

3.3 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer will have monthly meetings with the ‘Head of Programmes reporting on progress and raising any areas of concern.

4. Period of Contract

4.1 May 2024 to the end of April 2026.

5. Contract fee/Pay

5.1 The proposed fee is £25,000 a year pro-rata - three days a week (24 hours).

5.2 In addition to the payment outlined above the ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will be paid reasonable agreed expenses incurred subject to the supply of receipts/travel expense claim. The post holder will also be eligible for a stakeholder pension.

6. Indemnity

Insurance is covered by the NPHT.

The Role:

The Marketing Executive will support the delivery of our marketing strategy across channels such as organic social media, paid social, paid media, as well as supporting offline marketing efforts. You will report to the Social Media Manager, but this role will support across all of the marketing functions. We’re looking for an enthusiastic events administrator to join our Competitions team at the Angling Trust. Your mission will be to support our gold standard domestic, national, and international competitions and events.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Competitions and Senior Competitions Administrator, handling a full range of administrative tasks for customers, members, and colleagues.

This is a permanent, full-time role that suits a motivated events administrator who’d like to work alongside a very passionate and supportive team—although our day-to-day can sometimes be demanding, we’re flexible and family-friendly.

What you’ll be doing

· Supporting the planning, preparation, and delivery of our domestic, national, and international competitions and events with the goal of achieving excellence in competition delivery as well as growth in our programme and memberships

· Financial recording, monitoring, and reporting of competitions and events as well as regularly liaising with our finance team, using our iCompleat system to process purchase orders or payments / refunds, and supporting the preparation of annual competitions budgets

· Attending competitions or events as required as well as providing administrative support to colleagues, volunteers, committees, and national teams
