The Healthy Ageing Project will address specific challenges within the community, while actively promoting healthy ageing in practical and effective ways across our network.

We will focus on the strengths and expertise of our member groups to promote engagement with Ireland's unique music, dance, sport, language and culture.

We will work together with our members throughout this three-year journey. Together, we will develop, launch and promote a project geared towards improving health and wellbeing, reducing health inequality and providing strategic direction for national health programmes and policy recommendations for the Irish community.

This post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and will be based in the North of England, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester etc.

Events Administrator

We are seeking an organised, dynamic, and flexible administrator to support our extensive events calendar. This includes large assemblies, forums, and training sessions. About this job

Please note this role is part-time 21 hours/or 3 days a week.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).

If you’re passionate about offering high quality information and emotional support and have relevant Helpline experience, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be providing continuous support to all our volunteers at the Helpline team, directly contributing in providing information and support to our Helpline enquirers, with both proactive and reactive content and information on prevalent topics or trends affecting the MS community.

This role is an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and is due to go live in the summer of 2024. As an Adviser (Health Social Care and Housing) you will be responsible for providing specialist support to older people, their families and carers through our advice service with their housing and social care enquiries as well as providing generalist level support on a range of issues through our duty service. 

 You should have in depth, specialist level knowledge of Health and Social Care or Housing (ideally both) as they relate to older people, experience of working within a high volume advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework

Salary information:

Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health.  We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days.  We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred. You will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. We are a growing team of ESOL tutors and creche teams providing training to help refugees and their families to resettle in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

SUMMARY OF POST

The ESOL Creche Deputy is a qualified childcare professional able to deputise and support the ESOL Creche Team Leader. You perform a key role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and imparting your knowledge and skills to others. You are a creative and reflective leader able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice. You will also be expected to hold a minimum NNEB/NVQ Level 2 in Children’s Care Learning & Development, or equivalent qualification and will have experience of working with pre-school age children. Clean driving license and access to a car are essential for this role. Creche operates 9.30am-2.30pm. Staff meetings will take place outside these hours.

Reports to: ESOL Creche Team Leader.

Key Internal Relations: Refugee and Migrant Services: Support Team, ESOL Tutors and ESOL Coordinator.

Key External Relations: Venue contracts and clients.

You will also be expected to hold a minimum NNEB/NVQ Level 2 in Children's care, learning and development, or equivalent qualification and will have experience of working with pre-school age children.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
• To deputise for the ESOL Creche Team Leader, ensuring that the room is set up appropriately, prior to the children arriving. 
• At the end of the session, ensure the room is packed away and returned to the same condition as when you arrived. 
• To assist in the development of the Crèche’s policies and procedures in accordance with EYFS standards.
• To be aware of the Crèche’s policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to. Feb 2024 3 of 5.
• To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your care, organising systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care. 
• To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately – in accordance with child protection and whistleblowing policies. 
• To deploy staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios in the room. 
• To reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day. 
• To lead planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring your room is well-resourced and creatively set-up. 
• To lead observations and the assessment of children’s learning and development ensuring records are kept up to date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively. 
• To work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication, and involvement in Crèche life. 
• To contribute to the effective recording and resolution of any complaints or investigations, always ensuring confidentiality. 
• To be professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, always. 
• To work flexibly as part of the larger team, assisting and supporting colleagues wherever required, to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.

Dyscover is a small, specialist charity providing long term support and opportunities to adults with aphasia, a complex language disability. We are looking for an experienced Business Manager with a strong Fundraising and Marketing background to join our team.

· Experience raising income from a range of income streams particularly Trusts and Foundations also including skills in managing events, individual donors, legacy, corporate and community fundraising.

· Finance and Project management experience.

· Strategic development skills.

· Health, wellbeing, and disability experience within the sector would be ideal.

· Marketing experience; organisational promotion, digital, social media, website and branding. Health service marketing would be an advantage.

· Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with good disability awareness.

This is an essential management role within an expanding, unique and innovative organisation which strives towards being a centre of excellence for people with aphasia.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams. 

If you think you have the skills, qualities and drive to fulfil this role, but don’t meet all of the specifications, or perhaps you’ve gained your experience in (for example) commercial sales or within relationships management and are looking to move into development work, we would still welcome hearing from you. About the role:

This role is based at our Gloucester office and will require regular travel within the Gloucestershire area. Hence, holding a driving licence is essential.

As a caseworker, you will:

• Effectively manage a caseload of self-referrals or referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions
• Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
• Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice this could include criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to service users.

You will need:

• Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or families
• Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity
• Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner
• Understanding of confidentiality and safe working practices, in accordance with safeguarding and data protection legislation
• Ability to needs assess, risk assess and empathise with the victim
• Excellent IT and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages
