- Support the Warehouse Manager in organising food distribution using the FareShare food management systems and training volunteers as required
- Maintain excellent relations and communications with volunteers, staff, food suppliers and charities
If required to drive a FareShare van, you’ll:

- Be courteous and demonstrate FareShare’s equality and diversity policy
- Take responsibility for the safety of volunteers who join you
- Support the Volunteer Manager in ensuring all volunteers have a valuable and rewarding experience whilst supporting FareShare
Like the supply of surplus food to FareShare no two shifts are the same. Every day new food arrives and your team will include new people who want to get involved in the FareShare mission. About the charity
Citizen's Advice is a household name that helps people find a way forward and speaks up for them. We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating and no one sees so many people, with so many different kinds of problems. This gives Citizen's Advice a unique insight into the challenges people face today.
With the right evidence, they can show big organisations - from companies right up to the government - how they can make things better for people. By helping with the underlying cause of problems and making sure they don't get worse, they save the government and public services hundreds of millions of pounds every year.
About the role
The Corporate Partnerships team is evolving at pace, securing some seriously exciting and impactful partnerships over the past 2 years.
This is a brand-new role, part of growth plans and big investment in fundraising. You'll have oversight of the new business pipeline and act as resident expert for external opportunities. You're ambitious in vision and scope, feeling confident to develop strategic multi-year partnerships from scratch.
There's a big focus on the interplay between internal and external stakeholders. Working strategically to really get under the skin of organisational strategy and showcase the case for support; then leveraging both to maximum effect with prospective partners.
About you
To apply for this extra special role, we'll be looking for you to demonstrate:
- A proven new business track-record developing partnerships with commercial and corporate organisations across multiple sectors, ideally operating at six and seven figures.
- Exceptional networking, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex organisations and their often-sensitive needs and agreements.
- Team player who builds trust and gains buy in from internal and external stakeholders alike.
- Confident people manager, fostering a culture of celebration and high-performance, whilst also balancing and prioritising staff wellbeing.
If you are as excited by the possibilities as we are, please get in touch with a copy of your CV or profile to Amelia Lee at Charity People.
Deadline: 9am on Monday 29th April
Interviews: w/c 13th May, dates tbc
Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion. We match charity needs with the skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. We do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results for the charities we work with.
We are looking for an experienced CEO or senior charity manager, able to manage the business functions of a charity that is just starting out. You will have a proven track record of managing a small, prosocial organisation and setting up the systems necessary for success. You will have skills to work strategically, have business management skills, be able to lead and grow a team and work relationally.
As CEO an important goal will be to put the charity on a firm foundation for long-term sustainability. You will work with our fundraising consultant to ensure a steady income stream of core funding, ensuring financial stability for employees and building partnerships with local organisations to maximise impact and sustainability through collaborative work and partnership bids. This requires considerable, skilled networking and relationship-building, both within the Church’s Community Hub, with our existing partner VCFSE organisations and in the wider sector, including local Councils, PCNs and the ICB.
You will also be principally responsible for the organisation’s HR function, risk and compliance, as well as its monitoring and evaluation of impact (for quality assurance and fundraising purposes). This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.
Knowledge and/or lived experience of mental health difficulties and the relevant support services/treatment modalities is essential; experience working within the mental health sector is highly desirable. We are seeking someone who is passionate about mental health and views this role as an exciting, long-term opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of thousands of adults in Birmingham. The post holder will live and champion our unique model of community mental health provision, our vision and values, rooted in the service’s Christian ethos as part of St Germain's holistic mission and ministry to its community.
You will report to St Germain’s Wellbeing Board of Trustees.
Please submit a full CV with covering letter explaining the fit between your skills and experience and this post.
