We have an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and committed Community and Membership Fundraising team. Church (Corps) and Community Fundraising Officer is a new role, which is responsible for supporting and equipping Salvation Army churches and centres across the UK to fundraise in their local community to support the mission of The Salvation Army. As the role will be part of a pilot, you will have the opportunity to develop new ways of working, use your creativity to implement new ideas, and will be able to influence how we support local fundraising in the future.
The Salvation Army has 620 churches and community centres, which work at the heart of communities, serving the most vulnerable people, across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Alongside the locally driven operations, The Salvation Army operates centrally co-ordinated and managed social services, including residential programmes for homeless people, residential detox centres, and refuges for victims of domestic violence, and safe houses and services for the victims and survivors of modern-day slavery and human trafficking. You will play a key role in equipping and supporting Salvation Army churches to fundraise to support some of the most excluded people and communities in the UK.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in church-based and community fundraising, has strengths in inspiring others to act, is able to generate and implement new ideas, and is able to work independently using their own initiative.
This is a permanent position based partly at home and partly at your local Salvation Army office.

About LifeSkills
The LifeSkills programme will offer groups of families the chance to come together to a trusted venue such as a children’s centre or community setting. As well as offering opportunities for families to spend quality time together and have access to healthy food, these sessions will offer LifeSkills workshops for parents and carers to build their confidence, social networks, financial and employability skills. Examples include but are not limited to overcoming setbacks, managing debt, boosting confidence to return to work, CV writing, interview skills. The aims of the LifeSkills programme are to support participants to increase their confidence and 21st century skills, move closer to training/volunteering/employment, improve their social networks, and grow their confidence to provide low cost and nutritious meals.
The role involves delivering LifeSkills sessions to groups of families in the Greater Manchester area. The postholder will also be the main point of contact for delivery partners hosting programmes (e.g. small charities, schools) and staff and volunteers delivering sessions, and be expected to respond promptly to a wide range of queries and requests for support. Examples might include, for instance, devising LifeSkills programmes for different cohorts, presenting to potential partners, devising risk assessments, recording data, and visiting and providing guidance and support for staff and volunteers delivering sessions in venues across the country.

Age UK are recruiting for a part-time Lead Quality Assessor (21 hours per week) to undertake assessments of the quality of Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice that is provided by Age UK Network Partners (local Age UKs; local Age Cymru Partners; Age Cymru; Age Scotland; Age NI; and Age UK); and ensure consistency in how our quality standards are assessed across the wider assessment team.
In this role you will:
* Carry out assessments on the quality of Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice delivered by Age UK and its Network Partners across the UK through a range of services (e.g. traditional I&A service, social prescribing, LPA etc), assessing how well each Partner is delivering against the relevant requirements of the Age UK Network Quality Assurance Framework.
* Provide written reports for Age UK Network Partners in the required format, using your expert skills and knowledge to identify how well they have met the standard - identifying areas of strength, areas of non-compliance and suggestions for improvement.
* Support the process of quality assessment and continuous improvement of services where Age UK Information, Signposting and Social Welfare Advice is given, including, * moderating reports - with responsibility for ensuring that assessors are applying the standard fairly and there is consistency between the assessors; * reviewing self-assessments - liaising with Network Partners to give feedback on how well they are meeting the standards; * following up on Corrective Action - working with our Service Quality Advisors to review submitted evidence and the adequacy of corrective action taken by Network Partners, in response to their assessment findings. * signing off Corrective Action Reports and providing formal feedback to Network Partner Managers and CEOs.
* Work with the Quality Team to ensure consistency across the assessor team, by taking a lead role in assessor training / consistency days, using these to share learning, provide updates and instruction.
* Contribute to the on-going development of the wider Age UK Quality Framework by providing feedback on any Information and Advice related quality programmes.
The post holder is required to travel to a range of locations for assessments and for meetings at the London Office which may involve overnight stays. (Although the majority of work is currently online using MS Teams, national travel is likely in future).
Applicants must have ability to access a computer, confidential workspace, key advice texts and be able to work online.
Must haves:
* Extensive and relevant experience in an advice service, with knowledge of key advice issues affecting older people in at least two of the following areas of social welfare law: welfare benefits, community care, housing.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. Healthwatch Croydon is the local champion for Health and Social Care, commissioned by Croydon Council to hear the views of patients and service users. The Healthwatch Croydon Research and Engagement Officer will work closely with the Engagement Lead and Communications Lead to take forward the work of Healthwatch Croydon on resident engagement and research. Public Voice is a partner in the Haringey Advice Partnership (HAP) which is delivering the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service in Haringey from April 2022 to March 2025 with an option to extend for a further four years. Our role is to provide information and signposting for health and social care enquiries and develop the outreach and engagement activity to identify needs in the community and target specific community groups who are less familiar with IAG services.
The HAP Project Manager is responsible for managing Public Voice’s overall contribution to the Haringey Advice Partnership and project, ensuring Public Voice meets and reports on its targets and outcomes. This includes leading the outreach activities for HAP on behalf of Public Voice, arranging and attending drop-in sessions across the borough, and working in close collaboration with a variety of community stakeholders to reach those in need of HAP support.The Project Manager will be an active member of the HAP programme management team.

This is particularly true of the Foreign National Offender Removal Command (FNORC) who keep the population safe by deporting foreign nationals who have committed serious criminal offences. As soon as these individuals come to our attention – and regardless of whether they are currently in prison or free to mingle with the community – our team work to progress these cases as quickly as possible, so that offenders can be deported from the UK. And it is here that we need your input.
Working a minimum of 30 hours per week (as this role is open on both a full-time and part-time basis) you will see to it that we are providing a high-quality service. Leading a team of up to 10 Executive Officers, you will allocate and monitor the cases they are working on, seeing to it that each detention and deportation case is progressing as it should. This will include identifying and resolving blockages to deportations, including responding to litigation and complying with recommendations that have been made at case progression panels. Crucially, you will also made immediate, evidence-based decisions about whether cases should enter the detention estate, so you will ensure every case is handled fairly, and that the special needs and vulnerabilities of each person have been taken into consideration.
We want to ensure that those guilty of serious offences are removed from the UK at the earliest possibility within the Early Removal Scheme, so you will be encouraged to share your ideas on how we can improve our processes. You will also ensure we have an ongoing pipeline of talent by developing the skills and knowledge of your team, and you will ensure they are benefitting from a supportive working environment in which they feel able to discuss their own methods and ideas.
This is a highly varied and deeply interesting role in which you will make a tangible difference to the safety and security of the nation. This post is responsible for ensuring the financial health of the Spiritualists National Union, offering advice to the trustees on the National Executive Committee on financial planning and managing and monitoring the budget, helping them to make sound decisions to meet the charity’s objects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Introduce updated financial reporting processes to ensure the provision of timely financial reports to trustees, key staff and external bodies
- Instigate processes to prepare budgets across multiple cost centres.

Job Purpose
This role is within our crisis alternative service Safe Space - an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm (midday) - 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The role will consist of two shift patterns to ensure the service is covered: 11:30am-6:30pm and 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.
