Head of Wellbeing and Grants – The Solicitors’ Charity
We’re looking for a Head of Wellbeing and Grants to provide collaborative leadership to the Wellbeing and Grants Team and its operations, which are the centre of the Charity’s core charitable activities. As well as running a personal caseload, you’ll work with the team to develop a systematic approach/methodology to case management practice and review, rooted in case management best practice.
Salary c£56,500 to c£63,500 rising to c£57,500 to £64,500 after a 6-month probationary period. The point on these salary ranges at which you will be paid is dependent on your location.
Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings, largely in central London. Most staff work from home, though we also have an office in southwest London (SW12).
The Head of Wellbeing and Grants role
We have recently agreed our strategy for 2024-2026 and one of the focus areas will be, with the CEO and others, to ensure the successful implementation of the 3-year Strategy, focussing on the Wellbeing and Grants aspects of the strategic aims.
As holder of this senior role, you will lead in collaboratively designing and implementing a consistent methodology for, and systematic approach to, new and existing clients contacting the Charity. You’ll also ensure that the tools and technology used to do this are in place, used consistently and reviewed regularly. As well as management oversight of the Wellbeing and Grants Team, you will also hold a personal caseload and be expected to support Case Managers with particularly challenging cases.
We’re looking for someone with at least 10 years’ experience in casework practice in a client support or advice setting dealing with conversations with people with complex needs and sometimes in distress. And with at least 3-5 years’ experience in leading/managing a client support function like casework or grants/awards team.
Other key demonstrable skills and experience include having completed other relevant qualifications/training and courses in the sphere of advice and support work e.g. counselling, case management practice, therapeutic approaches et al.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in delivering successful fundraising and other events, working across multiple projects, and finding new and innovative ways to engage corporate supporters in fundraising events and campaigns.
You will be part of the Volunteering & Events Management team and will manage a range of in person and virtual events, from fundraising events to corporate partner cultivation drinks, industry roundtables and large-scale volunteering initiatives. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful high-quality events and ensure that all our events deliver against set targets.
This role would suit someone with a good understanding and experience of the UK charity sector and a passion for equalities and inclusion. We are looking for a strong candidate to take Media Trust’s event activity and fundraising to the next level to enable us to support more charities and underrepresented talent and engage more media and creative industry professionals in our work.
Key responsibilities
Events Management

Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

Lead on the development and running of Media Trust’s 30th Birthday celebratory events, including but not limited to our Fundraising Gala, ensuring the fundraising target is hit or exceeded

Support the Programmes team and Media Trust Films team on delivery of events when necessary, including, but not limited to, Charity Challenge Days and Film Screenings

Provide a high standard of support to key stakeholders throughout the planning, execution and evaluation of each event

Develop and implement consistent processes, procedures and documentation for all events across Media Trust, including event timelines, agendas, speaker and staff briefs

Develop fundraising and sponsorship proposals to fund core events across Media Trust

Manage event budgets ensuring they are run cost effectively

Maximise the profitability (where appropriate), sustainability and quality of all events

What we are looking for in you
Essential

About the role
The Inclusive Climate Researcher is being recruited to support delivery on this growing portfolio of research and consultancy focussing on inclusive approaches to climate action, adaptation, mitigation and resilience. This work is closely aligned with GDI Hub’s work on inclusive cities and infrastructure, so an understanding of the intersection of climate, disability inclusion and accessibility in cities is important, and the post holder will likely work closely with inclusive design colleagues.
Initially, the role will primarily support a new project integrating disability inclusion in low carbon futures through research, training and technical assistance.
Role overview
This role will suit someone with research experience that is also looking to engage in practical work and drive impact.
The role will require knowledge of disability innovation and inclusive design in the context of climate change, including an appreciation of disability in the context of wider social inclusion and climate adaptation/mitigation. While the post holder will be able to work with subject matter experts, the ability to work across these diverse domains is essential. Good communication skills are vital as training and communicating knowledge to diverse audiences is a key part of this role.
The researcher will undertake research under the supervision and guidance of the project lead (GDI Hub’s Head of Research and Delivery). They will be responsible for research and analysis drawing on diverse research skills including policy review and strategy, desk reviews, qualitative, co-design and participatory methods, with the ability to extract key themes and provide actional insights.
Experience in and a passion for inclusive approaches to research with diverse user groups is key to this role. The researcher will be expected to be able to develop research protocols, instruments and methodologies to suit project needs, ranging from academic to consultancy-based research. Experience in academic research, including acquiring ethical approval, managing data and analysis and drafting quality academic papers would be an advantage. Communicating with diverse audiences through the preparation of presentations for clients and events, report and paper writing will be a large part of this role.
Translating knowledge into practice, technical assistance to climate projects, developing and supporting delivery of training on inclusive climate innovation, managing clients and networks of innovators and experts will form part of the role.
The researcher will support advocacy, communications and external engagement, promoting the work under their remit, including at key conferences and events, including UN climate events. They will also support the publication of papers aligned to the research and delivery to further increase the reach and impact of the work and seek to instil academic rigour as appropriate.
The role will be based within the Research and Delivery team and involve collaboration with Innovation and Academic colleagues. The post holder will be expected to operate with reasonable autonomy, participate in client conversations, be collaborative and creative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. It's a particularly exciting time to be joining Scope. We’ve just launched an ambitious new strategy, and we’ll be delivering a large-scale general election campaign, as well as a brand refresh. We want to make sure that 2024/2025 is a real turning point for disabled people – one in which our vision for an Equal Future starts to become a reality. You’ll be involved in shaping some of the key campaigning activity to make that happen.
Fixed Term until February 2025, 35 hours per week
Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW with working from home some or most of the time (hybrid).
The role
We will need you to take a lead on evaluating the impact of each phase and use that information to shape the next. The campaign will have both online and offline activity and lots of moving parts, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
You will:
- Work collaboratively across Scope to deliver our general election campaign, and help us make sure disabled people’s voices are heard by Government and politicians.
- Work closely with our National Campaigns Officer, and manage our Campaigns Assistant
- Play a key role in the delivery of the campaign, from developing assets to determining the best tactics for each phase.

About you
We are looking for someone that is passionate about disability equality and understands the role businesses play in creating an inclusive society.
You:
- Have in-depth knowledge of campaigning tactics and be comfortable developing and delivering campaigns strategies.
- Should be able to manage multiple projects and priorities whilst working collaboratively.
- Understand the UK political system and how to influence it, and be able to make complicated information clear to others.

You will play a critical role in supporting Baby Lifeline to deliver its important mission, leading the development and delivery of our strategic communications and marketing plan. Head of Communications and Marketing Responsibilities:
· Providing strategic communications and marketing counsel to the Chief Executive
