The Grants Manager will join ClientEarth’s Grants Management Team and play a leading role in securing grant renewals and managing income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders.
Our Development Department is responsible for raising funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission. The department includes several fundraising strands: established Business Development and Grants programmes, respectively in charge of securing new funding and managing existing funding from trusts, foundations and institutional donors; a Philanthropy team, working with a wide range of individuals and organisations to raise primarily unrestricted gifts to support ClientEarth’s work; and a Digital Fundraising team.
You will work across ClientEarth’s programme areas and geographies to steward funder relationships, develop winning proposals, and ensure a growing and diverse funder base for ClientEarth, with income secured aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities.
You will hold a portfolio of key relationships with some of ClientEarth’s largest funders, and will be responsible for reporting and communicating externally to funders and other relevant stakeholders on all aspects of grant management.
Main Duties
- Manage a portfolio of grants from key Trusts, Foundations and statutory funders. Ensure that funders are aware of project performance, and that ClientEarth’s implementation is always in compliance with grant agreements.
- Maximise existing funder relationships through effective grant management, excellent stewardship and ensuring lessons learned from ClientEarth’s work are fed back and incorporated into future strategy.
- Support the Global Head of Grants in setting up and implementing frameworks and processes to review performance against annual targets and objectives that ensure effective grants management, and to improve best practices around proposal and report submissions.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure the alignment of budget with project needs at proposal stage; ensure adequate budget monitoring to ensure prompt communications with funders on any project implementation issues.
- Support the Global Head of Grants to develop and implement the team’s annual planning and wider fundraising strategy.

- Significant and demonstrable experience of working in a fundraising, grant management or a project management role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity
- Significant experience of drafting complex proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions (including EU) and securing multi-year, six and seven-figure grants
- Experience leading the development and activity of proposal development teams, to ensure the effective and timely input of a variety of internal/external stakeholders into the fundraising process
- Experience of successfully managing donor relationships, from cultivation to stewardship encompassing both personal engagement with funders and/or coordinating the input of colleagues from across the organisation

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Dorset. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. About the role
Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of Support Workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an exemplary role model.
As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. We are seeking an experienced Rent Officer to join our small, dispersed Rent Team which consists of a Rent Team Leader; two Rent Officers, and two part-time Rent Team Administrators which sits within our Housing and Property Services. In conjunction with our Supported Housing Projects, the Rent Team is responsible for the collection of the organisation's rent and other property charges. As a Rent Officer you will manage a caseload of properties and will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts; ensuring that appropriate action is taken to maximize rental income. You will ensure accuracy of rent accounts’ and service users’ information held on the rent management database (Pyramid).
In addition, you will liaise with relevant local authorises housing benefit departments; ensuring positive relationships are forged. You will have knowledge of the external environment in which YMCA DownsLink Group works and keep abreast of key changes, particularly around Welfare Reform.

Due to project expansion Aquarius Young People’s Substance misuse team are recruiting for several Complex Needs Substance Misuse Practitioners across the city.
Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.
The post holder will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools & colleges, the Children and Families service, the YOT as well as other local community agencies. The role will involve supporting young people away from engaging in substance misuse or with an understanding of parental substance misuse.
You will provide young people with skills and coping strategies to manage their recovery journey, delivering 1-1 and some group work interventions, targeted outreach to engage 'hard-to-reach' young people and delivery of service talks and substance misuse presentations to enhance external professional workforce development with our partner agencies.
Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, most work will occur during the day, however as a young people’s service we may occasionally ask you to support out of hours sessional work.
Holding a relevant qualification in substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care or with relevant experience and willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care you will also:
• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting.

The Role
We are currently looking for a Shop Manager who will run our brand-new shop in Thirsk.
Initially, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in setting up our new shop, recruiting volunteers, and making plans to ensure the shop is ready to open. You will then ensure the smooth running of the shop long-term.
