Purpose of the job/About the role

Join Dementia UK as a Gift Processing Officer helping to establish an excellent level of financial processing that will underpin the growth in fundraising activity across a range of income streams.

Working within the supporter care team you will be responsible for processing a high volume of donations. You will ensure that that all processing is accurate and timely in order to provide an excellent supporter experience for all Dementia UK donors & supporters. Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, the Gift Processing Officer will handle post, cheques, cash and charity vouchers, working carefully with our database to record income and thank all supporters who give to Dementia UK.

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in database management, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and strong numeracy skills. You will have high computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the implementation of the Unloc London Strategy

• Working in partnership with the Operations Manager to ensure the delivery of the Unloc London strategy. This includes;

  • Building new relationships with local schools and colleges. 

  • Facilitating a free to access enterprise event for local schools in the borough of Westminster. 

  • Delivery of workshops and presentations, attendance at events to to promote Unloc’s programmes and initiatives to schools, colleges and community groups.

Working in partnership and building new stakeholder relationships

• Liaise and act as a primary point of contact for current key stakeholders to promote Unloc’s work. This will include Local Authorities, Education Trusts, Businesses and Community Interest Groups. 

• Implement engagement strategies to build new relationships with key stakeholders through needs assessments and stakeholder surveys to gather insights into the preferences, challenges and priorities.

• Represent Unloc in external meetings, conferences and networking opportunities. 

Organise, plan and facilitate entrepreneurial skills and career pathway projects and programmes

• Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke enterprise and career pathways events (with support from the Operations Manager) for individual businesses, grant giving bodies, schools & colleges. This generally involves designing agendas, booking speakers, managing event resources, leading individual sessions, briefing event support staff, liaising with key points of contact and managing attendance from multiple schools, colleges and partners.

Managing staff

• To line-manage multiple other members of staff in line with Unloc’s People Management Approach. This includes:

  • Providing wrap around support to individual team members when they require it.

  • Promoting a culture of excellence in programme management and facilitation.

  • Ensuring that facilitators you manage operate in line with Unloc’s policies, procedures and practices whilst instilling Unloc’s core team values.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of each staff member’s portfolio and current progress on programmes and providing a source of accountability..

About the role
As Senior Health Officer: Knowledge Management and Communication, you will be responsible for the knowledge management and MEAL functions for the health team. This will include collection, collation and dissemination of learning and evidence from across key country and donor markets. The post-holder will oversee the management of Sightsavers Finance and Administration in the Cameroon Country Office. Role Summary

The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. • To produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients.

As a Local Growth Officer – Scouts and Explorers, you will be pro-actively helping Counties and Districts achieve their growth ambitions focusing specifically on opening new sections for our Scout and Explorer Scout age ranges (10-18) by collaborating with local volunteers and our wider Growth & Communities team who hold relationships with lead volunteers within each County in England.

Key responsibilities as our Local Growth Officer:

• Support and work in partnership with District Commissioners, Group Scout Leaders and other volunteers to open new Scout and Explorer Scout sections to grow Scouting within the assigned Counties according to their County Growth Plans.
• Open new sections in line with the County Growth Plans, and using local knowledge, collaborating with local volunteers and contributing to the ongoing development of the local inclusive Growth Plan as needed to ensure that we are achieving our ambitions to create more Scouting opportunities for young people aged 10+ within lower IMD areas and predominantly Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.
• Work with the relevant local lead volunteers, to understand their current community reach and identify opportunities for growth within their local areas.

About the role

• Build effective partner relationships and support longer term relationships that go beyond the duration of individual projects by disseminating information and advocating for Sightsavers work

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

The e-wellbeing team specialise in Youth Participation and Digital co-production. We aim to get young people’s voices heard in Mental Health services and support systems across Sussex. We run , a youth produced Mental Health support website for young people, a mental health social media platform, as well as various youth participation groups. As a team we run internal and external contracts from multiple organisations to involve young people as experts by experience in all things related to Mental Health.

We are looking for a Youth Engagement Worker to join us to predominantly plan, run and facilitate mental health engagement sessions for Children and Young People (CYP) across Sussex. You will deliver mental health workshops (in-person and online) to college, secondary schools and primary schools across Brighton and Hove. You will also co-run e-wellbeing’s youth participation group (in-person and online), ensuring youth involvement actively informs, influences, and helps e-wellbeing measure youth engagement of all projects.

In addition, you will contribute to planning of youth focused social events, digital content – social media management, scheduling and carry out administrative tasks within the team. Ideal for anyone who has had experience in youth participation and strives to get CYP voices heard and having meaningful impact.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operations manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who will help strengthen the foundations of our organisation, as well as help us expand our growing network of partner organisations across the UK. 

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO to help build the operational structure of Big Green Heart, and support its day-to-day operations. 

You will also facilitate the national deployment of Big Green Heart workshops across the UK, and will work with the CEO and trustees to implement the strategy needed to upscale the work of Big Green Heart. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will develop and implement operational policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

• You will monitor and evaluate the operational performance of the organisation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

• You will manage the operational activity of our Big Green Heart experience days, supporting the CEO in the delivery of them. 

• You will work closely with our partner organisations who are using the Big Green Heart model, ensuring that the high standards and values of our teaching are maintained.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience in operations management, preferably within the charity sector. 

• A self motivated individual, capable of independent working.

• Ability to translate vision into a working practice. 

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Familiarity with budgeting and financial management processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience of working in a start-up environment, supporting the operational needs of a fledgling organisation.
