The US-UK Fulbright Commission is home to the UK’s EducationUSA team, which offers a wide variety of information and support to people in the UK about studying in the USA. We know how many people are interested in choosing to study a degree at a US university, but clear, unbiased and accurate information can be hard to find. Our free services aim to support anyone in the UK who is interested in studying in the USA make their dreams a reality.

As an EducationUSA manager, you will play a key role in designing and running informational services to help prospective students, teachers, advisors and parents navigate US university admissions for successful study in the USA. As an organisation, we are proud to help broaden prospective applicants’ horizons by showcasing all of the exciting opportunities at more than 4,000 US accredited universities and colleges.

As the successful candidate, you will work in a small team to promote US study, from attending university fairs to meet with prospective students, to holding one-to-one advising video calls with individual students, to answering questions from US universities looking to recruit in the UK. Alongside running a lively webinar and in person event schedule, which you will be involved in promoting, you’ll also be the lead member of staff working on our signature event, USA College Day, which is Europe’s largest US college fair.

You’ll bring excellent project management skills to the role, with a cool head under pressure. You’ll be experienced at event management, but also enjoy presenting and working directly with students too. You’ll bring passion for the opportunities presented by studying abroad, and be able to inspire students while also anticipating questions and concerns they might have about US study.

Being able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity will be key and you will be excited about the opportunity to support people from diverse backgrounds.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills, need to be a strong team player and have the ability to deliver effective presentations to a range of audiences.

Caseworker

Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.

This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.

This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.

For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.

The successful applicant will be providing activities and support to clients within a formal contractual framework working to challenging targets.The role holder will need a strong beneficiary focus and the ability to rapidly form relationships with partners and local agencies.

​Key Responsibilities:

• Work with partners to identify and engage veterans with the CFO Programme.
• Undertake needs assessments with each veteran and jointly develop their support plan.
• Work as part of a team, together with Probation Service Staff and Lead Provider staff, was well as partner organisations providing specialist support.
• Deliver emotional and practical support to veterans working with partner organisations to provide specialist support for each individual as required.
• Work with the veteran to secure employment.
• Optimise the delivery of activities which are separately billed as part of CFO Programme.
• Ensure that all activity is recorded on the MOJ CATs system, or other system as required by the contract.
• Deliver any further activities reasonably required by the Op Nova National Manager or CFO Contract Manager, the Nova National Manager and the Forces Employment Charity.

                                                         IMPACT COORDINATOR SOUGHT
                                         FOR RESTORATION PROJECT ON REMOTE ISLAND

We are a large-scale, dynamic, and forward-thinking restoration and hospitality project in the Northwest Highlands with strong philanthropic and community commitments. The heart of our operation is on a remote and beautiful 800-acre island, where we are delivering stunning, sympathetic builds and authentic guest experiences in an area of outstanding scenery.

We run a monitoring programme to capture our social and environmental impact and effectiveness across a range of indicators and are looking for an enthusiastic, creative person to help with this work and become our Impact Coordinator. Our chief areas of charitable engagement include Education, Rural and Community Regeneration, Arts, Culture, Heritage and Science, Environmental Protection and Improvement, and Health and Wellbeing.

The purpose of this role will be the accurate measurement of the effectiveness and social value of the projects we deliver for our owning Charitable Trust. Our Impact Coordinator will work with our internal and external impact team to measure the social value of past, present and future projects, with strategic guidance and support from our leadership team, external advisers, and Trustees.

This role will suit a graduate with degrees, or equivalent experience, in the Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, Management or related fields. This is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to jump straight into a well-supported role on a big project and produce well-presented, evidence-based stories about the project’s impact using numbers, text, and multimedia for a variety of different audiences.

We gather social value data and KPIs, and have a burgeoning collection of testimonials, feedback, and imagery. We need someone to help build and maintain our qualitative and quantitative data library. This will very much be a “doing” role, involving time spent with spreadsheets and reports, as well as time spent with the team helping them with the same. We are collating the story of the project to date for a key report in Q1 2025.

We have our own growing island community of staff and guests, while also being embedded in mainland life in nearby crofting townships and villages. The Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland (APM) is one of the world's largest representative bodies of medical/healthcare professionals practicing or interested in palliative care, with a growing membership of over 1,400. Most members are doctors, and supporting them is the core focus of the APM. APM members support patients with life threatening illnesses to live and die as well as possible. It is the APM's mission to promote, facilitate, advance and develop excellence for the benefit of every individual patient and those important to them. As part of a wider governance review, the APM is making some exciting changes to it's organisational structures. The current Board will become the APM Council with a focus on professional matters and the creation of a new Board of Trustees will oversee the administration of the APM as a professional membership body and hold elected Officers to account.

About the APM:

The APM is a registered charity, and so it has a Board of Trustees acting as its governing body. The Board of Trustees is responsible for agreeing the APM business plan and monitoring the progress of APM affairs. Trustees also act as the custodians of the APM, ensuring effective management and administration and are registered as APM Directors with Companies House.

About the Lay Trustee Role:

As a Lay Trustee, you will have the opportunity to work closely with fellow Trustees to shape the future of the APM. You will note that a medical background is not a pre-requisite of the role. As part of the Board of Trustees you will use your expertise in either a) financial management or b) equity, diversity and inclusion to ensure the APM is solvent, well-run, and delivering on its charitable objective.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Be willing to act as a Trustee of the organisation and accept ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of a charity, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it has been set up.
• Ensure that the Board operates within the APM's charitable objective, its governing document and provides clear strategic direction to the APM.
• Fulfil Trustee duties to ensure sound financial health of the charity, with systems in place to ensure financial accountability.
• Support the Chair of the Board of Trustees, President and Board Officers whilst respecting the boundaries of those roles.

Time commitment

The APM Board of Trustees will normally hold four meetings per year (likely to be a mixture of in-person and hybrid meetings). On average, it is estimated that the time commitment will equate to half a day per month, spread irregularly over a 12-month period. Trustees will serve a three-year term. Individual tenure may be extended by up to a maximum of a further three-year term to ensure orderly succession planning, subject to the agreement of the membership.

As part of this work, our Insights Team generates actionable insights to inform and deliver the Trust’s programmes of work, and the Research and Policy Assistant is integral to this.

 We are looking for a Research and Policy Assistant to contribute to and support the Trust’s research, evaluation and policy monitoring activity. This includes collecting and communicating research and policy evidence and information, to inform the development of the Trust’s current and potential programmes of work.

An understanding of different types of research methods and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of the barriers experienced by disabled people and those living with mental health conditions as well as an understanding of local and national policy context are welcomed.

A fantastic animal rescue centre are looking for a Animal Sanctuary Manager based in Sidehead, Bishop Auckland.

Salary: £30,000 + small company van

Location: On-site with the potential to work from home 1 day a week

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the animal care staff
• Assisting the Animal Care Supervisor as needed
• Undertaking animal care and cleaning duties as needed, including worming, flea treatment and vaccination schedules
• Setting the staff rota for the rescue
• Assisting the Head of Animal Care in managing all paperwork relating to animal care and adoptions, including registering microchips, answering emails, and social media queries
• Assisting the Head of Animal Care in carrying out home checks and vet visits

We are seeking an Advanced Recovery Practitioner to support in the Women and Families team, within Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote.  The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in working within a substance misuse treatment and recovery setting, must have specialist training and supervision in one or more complexities alongside substance misuse. This may be mental health, long term conditions, criminal justice, offending behaviour, homelessness, motivational interviewing, safeguarding, family work.  Have an understanding of risk and risk management, as it applies to substance misuse and complexity.  Have a working knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults framework, the ability to follow procedure and development of a culture of safe practice.  Ability to work under pressure and have significant experience of working in health and social care.

About the Team

This interim role reports to the Director of Communications, Policy and Campaigns (CPC), alongside other Assistant Directors.

The CPC team drives Shelter's campaigns for social housing and renters' rights, supporting our services and income generation efforts.

You'll manage heads of important content and engagement teams, driving strategic direction and collaboration across functions.

About the Role

As Assistant Director Communications and Content, you'll lead Shelter's communication efforts, ensuring impact, reach and a coherent organisational voice.

You'll oversee media teams, drive cross-channel campaigns, and develop ambitious communication strategies. With your experience in matrix management and project/change management, you'll guide teams to achieve our strategic goals amidst organisational change.

We're seeking candidates with extensive experience leading and managing media and communications teams, along with a track record of developing impactful cross-channel campaigns. Your ability to navigate complexity, build collaborative relationships, and drive strategic change will be crucial in this role.
