About the role

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work across two schools in Greenwich, London. Our schools are shown on a map The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.

Role responsibilities

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme

• Match students with volunteer tutors

• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance

• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)

• Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate

• Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme

• Manage tutor relationships and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.

• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme

• Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.

• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Do you wish to be part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team and support our Farming community? RABI, the leading UK farming charity, are seeking a fundraiser with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in generating income from trusts and foundations.

You must be a great communicator with experience in prospect research, writing funding proposals and developing relationships with trust representatives. This is an exciting time to join RABI as we develop a strategy aimed at raising seven-figure sums in 3-4 years to support the farming community.

As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications and steward relationship with current and future charitable trusts. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and identify charitable trusts which may provide future financial support to RABI whilst maximising the potential for giving from trusts with which the Charity already has a relationship.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
• Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts including the maintenance of records of applications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure Trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
• Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Compile statistical and background research to support the development of new and existing relationships with Charitable trusts.
• Monitor trust income for finance purposes, ensuring all donations or grants are coded appropriately, including any restrictions upon the use of the income.

Interim Head of Finance | 3 Month + | £300 - £350 per day (outside IR35) | Hybrid | Croydon

For a small but vital refugee charity, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for 3 + months, starting ASAP. Reporting to the CEO, the main accountabilities will focus on providing insightful monthly management accounts and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees / Board, and to ensure the correct allocation of expenditure to a high number of grant funds. This role will oversee the Finance Assistant and the day-to-day finance transactions, including expenses, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Main Duties:

• Produce regular management accounts and financial reporting
• Support the Leadership Team, Finance Committee and Board with long-term financial planning
• Lead and review budgeting, reforecasting and cashflow management
• Review and re-negotiate all contracts, including office premises, IT, grants, and services
• Oversee the Finance Assistants day-to-day work including transactions and payroll processing
• Work with the Head of Fundraising and Senior Leadership to ensure income generation and fundraising strategy is in line with long-term goals

What will you bring to this role?

• Qualified Accountant or QBE with solid experience
• Strong knowledge and experience of Charity SORP, Grant funding and restricted and unrestricted funding
• Strong experience of management accounts and reporting within a small but complex charity organisation including budget preparation and year-end accounting and Audit
• Strong IT skills including Xero and Excel
• Experience of contracts, facilities management, HR processes and IT would be desirable
• Solid experience of managing and motivating staff

What you’ll do: 

Our Finance Manager will report to our Head of Finance and Resources and be a member of our Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial records of the charity are accurately accounted for in a timely manner and for supporting growth of the charity in a controlled a sustainable way. 

You will directly line manage our Finance Assistant, manage relationships with 3rd parties and be financial business partner to key stakeholders.

We are ambitious and we need you to help us shape the operational and strategic direction of Green Light Trust. This will be achieved through robust, accurate bookkeeping, effective process and system controls, regular financial planning, the provision of financial information and analysis to support sound decision making and continuous improvement in controls and processes.

The priorities in this role will be: 

1. Management Accounting: Creditor and debtor control to ensure all amounts owed to and from the charity are managed in a robust manner, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support decision making, in line with organisation and statutory requirements. 
2. Financial Accounting: Day to day treasury management, accurate and timely bookkeeping in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
3. Payroll: Co-ordinate with HR colleagues and 3rd party payroll processing bureau to ensure all members of staff and associated other payroll liabilities are paid correctly and on time. 
4. Financial Planning: producing cash flow forecasts on a quarterly basis, collaborating with budget holders and supporting the Head of Finance to prepare robust income and expenditure budgets and quarterly re forecasts. 
5. Analysis and Business Partnering: provide ad hoc and routine analysis to support decision making and support to budget holders to ensure ongoing spend control. 
6. Process improvement: support Head of finance to identify opportunities to ensure all processes system outputs are effective and manual input is minimised. 
7. Line management of finance assistant; providing coaching and guidance to support ongoing development and ensuring there are appropriate levels of cover for team processes, during periods of absence. 
8. General: Ensure all computerised systems are used and maintained in accordance with established processes and best practice and support the Head of finance on the implementation of a new fit for growth finance system.

•  A team player who's either fully or part qualified and brings extensive experience in managing accounts and interacting with various stakeholders. 
• Someone with strong IT literacy and high levels of numeracy.

About this role

Better Cotton is now seeking a Social Impact Fundraiser who will help to drive revenue in support of the ongoing success and growth of Better Cotton globally. Better Cotton has set ambitious 2030 targets to improve the lives and livelihoods of cotton farmers. This role will be responsible for ensuring these ambitions are adequately resourced. You will work closely with relevant thematic leads and country teams for proposal design, coordination and reporting of funded projects. In addition to this, you will maintain and manage donor relationships. This post will report to the Programme Funding Manager with a matrix line to a Social Impact Manager. Responsibilities

Development of Social Impact Programmes

Participate in the development of thematic programmes that fulfil farmers’ needs while aligning with Better Cotton’s 2030 strategic goals:

• In close collaboration with Global Impact team and country teams support a programmatic co-creation process, that is marketable and fundable.
• Manage a coalition building phase of social impact donors and allies. This includes outreach to relevant stakeholders identified, pitching to prospective donors, creating fundraising materials.
• The Coordinator will likely manage individual donor relations, while also coordinating Social Impact Coalition Committees.

Fundraising efforts

• Manage relationships with donors/investors to increase success rate of applications and ensure continuous funding.
• Conduct research into funding opportunities for sustainable agriculture and livelihoods.
• Organize outreach efforts with new donors/investors strategically, sharing relevant material and/or pitching to prospective donors identified.
• Share interesting grant opportunities internally and assess feasibility, identify the project idea/concept to be developed and liaise with relevant teams internally.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Supporting the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

• A good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:

• Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.
• Help participants to connect with nature and socialise with others to feel happier, less anxious and less isolated.
• Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
• Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
• Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.

The role 

The roles has four main areas of work:

1. Leadership and management:

• Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals. 
• Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
• Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
• Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.

2. Project management: 

• Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
• Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders. 
• Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
• Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
• Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed. 
• Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
• Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
• Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact. 

3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green: 

• Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project. 
• Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
• Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed. 

4. Other: 

• Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required. 
• Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.
