The role of Power BI Analyst will help the team provide expert data analytics, reporting and insight. This role will lead their own projects and contribute to the wider team delivery of analysis projects using internal and external data across digital, marketing, supporter, and operational activity to drive the optimisation and innovation of our fundraising activity and increase contribution.
What will I be doing?
Understanding stakeholder business objectives and gather reporting and analysis requirements and document as per the team's governance model.
Leading projects to develop and provide robust, high quality and insightful KPI reports and analysis for each area of the business and ensure that the business has the most up to date and relevant information available as part of a programme of data analysis projects.
Ensuring that reports and insights are communicated to stakeholders in a way that drives impact and influence.
Ensuring delivery adheres to the established business processes and that all necessary documentation and working procedures are always maintained.
Developing the ability to competently use a broad range of reporting and analysis tools across multiple data sources, building a source agnostic approach.
Investigating and reconcile data inconsistencies, ensuring that Analyst & Reporting team produce consistent results and information.
Identifying opportunities and collaborate with other team members to improve the governance of reporting and analysis, generate more efficient processes, and provide a joined-up view of insight.
Building, developing, and managing relationships and share skills and learning with key stakeholders and networks to ensure the work of the department matches needs and builds capability.
What skills will I need?
Relevant experience of reporting and data analysis techniques and statistics gained in an organisation or agency, ideally with complex marketing and comms landscape.
Relevant experience of using Power BI, familiar with creating advanced data models and DAX language, using outputs to make actionable dashboards and insights.
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (experience in creating macros advantageous but not essential).
Experience of Google Analytics advantageous but not essential.
Experience of leading and delivering projects with proven impact and demonstrating excellent project management and planning skills with ability to prioritise workload.
Strategic skills (including analysis, structured thinking, and logical reasoning) and strong accuracy and numeracy, with good attention to detail.
Evidence of proactive behaviours, and ability to work independently, challenges own performance, invests in own development and finds innovative solutions to problems.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to convey expertise in a way that engages and builds their knowledge.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with others and work as part of a team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the stewardship of the charity's volunteer Campaigns Ambassadors to support the organisations campaigns, engagement and influencing work to achieve better outcomes for people, patients and professionals.
This role is crucial in helping to deliver a strategy to grow and develop an effective Campaigns Ambassadors programme where Ambassadors are deeply engaged with our campaigns.
What will I be doing?
Working in partnership with other Campaigns Officers in the team to develop and deliver the stewardship strategy for campaigners across the full volunteer life cycle
Maintaining the volunteer management processes of the team, including communications to Ambassadors and managing the logistics and content for campaign events
Contributing to the ongoing strategic development of the Ambassador programme and making suggestions for future improvements
Contributing to, or leading, team wide projects to inform and improve the work of the Ambassador and Campaigns team
Drafting communications for, and engaging with, both Campaigns Ambassadors and the rest of the charity to showcase the impact of the programme
Liaising with key teams and stakeholders to improve the Ambassador experience, increase volunteer numbers and internally promote the Ambassador programme and demonstrate its impact
Contributing to the wider work of the Ambassador and Campaigns team and to support the work of the Campaigns Manager.

We are looking for a part qualified Commercial Finance Analyst to join Cancer Research UK's Finance team to deliver insightful reporting and financial planning for our Retail & Trading teams.
Our growing network of 600+ stores, superstores, and distribution hubs raised £127m in 2022/23 towards our life-saving work, and we're investing significantly in the expansion of our new (e.g. eBay, ASOS Marketplace, and Depop) making this a diverse and exciting area. This means you will have the exciting (and fulfilling) opportunity to directly support the and cause-driven impact of a diverse and growing business area.
You will use your financial planning, modelling, and reporting experience to provide analysis and decision support to various initiatives and projects across Cancer Research UK, and support the forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning for a large cost-centre base throughout the financial year. You'll also collaborate closely with the team's management accountant to ensure a joint approach to financial reporting/planning and analysis.

What will I be doing?
- Producing the planning and reporting for our Retail & Trading teams (600+ cost centres). This will involve understanding variances, providing accurate insight into the financial performance of these business areas; and supporting the forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning throughout the financial year.
- Providing analysis and information to support decisions, projects, and business cases with the support of both the Retail Finance Manager.
- Supporting the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, long-term planning, and Finance Managers for your business areas.
- Building strong relationships and clearly communicating financial information with non-financial stakeholders across the Retail & Trading teams to enable the organisation to own and take responsibility for their plans.
- Analysing trends and performance to feed into forecasts and long-term financial planning.
- Producing and communicating analysis that turns data into insight to financial and non-financial audiences while understanding the 'so what' and questioning 'what's next?'
- Collaborating closely with the Management Accountant for your business area to ensure accounts are complete and correct, and analysing management information to find efficiencies and improvements.
What skills will I need?

- Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/ CIMA/ ICAEW or equivalent)
- Produced financial planning within a large, multisite organisation (100+ sites/ cost centres) that receives a high volume of daily transactions/ sales (this can be in a non-Retail industry such as hospitality).
- Experience in delivering financial planning, modelling, and reporting (including variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting).
- Supported a budgeting and forecasting cycle throughout a full financial year.
- Built strong business partnering relationships with an ability to clearly analyse, present, and explain financial information and extract key issues with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Can set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations.
- IT Literate and comfortable manipulating data in Excel (e.g. v-lookups, index match and Pivot Tables)
