£44,606 - £50,819 pa – Inner London HCA for Tooting base

Location: Tooting or Birmingham

Ref: 918-MX5297

Engage and Enhance

At NHS Blood and Transplant, we have a simple but uniquely vital mission: to save and enhance lives. Taking responsibility for blood, organs, tissues, stem cells and more, we do everything in our power to do our amazing donors justice and give a lifeline to thousands of people every year.  As we move towards an opt-out system for organ donation in 2020, we need a passionate leader to get the word out to faith and beliefs organisations about organ and blood donation.

This is a challenge that few can match.

The role

As part of our busy NHS Blood and Transplant team, you will develop and lead on the implementation of our faith and beliefs engagement strategy.

In this varied role you will build trust with key faith and belief organisations so that you work together to educate and problem solve around the key issues of the opt-out system and the necessity for increased engagement of BAME audiences on organ donation, and black donors for blood donation.

Each day will be different. One day you’ll be developing strategy, presenting to stakeholders and creating content − and the next, meeting faith leaders or working closely with nursing or other donor experience colleagues.

Based ideally in Tooting, with the option of working in Birmingham, you will report to the Head of Organ Donation Marketing, whilst line managing the BAME Marketing Manager.

About You

Passionate and inclusive, you will be a strong people manager with a proven track record of community engagement.

With exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal − you will be capable of building collaborative relationships and solving complex issues.

You’ll have had experience of project management and you’ll also be able to develop and manage multi channel campaigns.

As you work with numerous groups, you’ll also instil integrity and true diversity across our organisation, respecting others and expecting the same in return.

You will have demonstrable experience to Masters level in management or marketing or educated to Masters level in these areas.

What we offer

By joining this dynamic team, you will be taking on an essential role which will directly contribute to saving and improving people’s lives.

So join us, and put your passion and expertise to the test in a challenging, interesting and deeply rewarding role – and in turn, we will support you with access to a competitive pension scheme, generous annual leave and the possibility of part-time working.

Please note that this is a fixed term vacancy until 31st March 2021.

Closing date: 25th March 2020.

The interviews will take place in Tooting on Wednesday 8th April.
