Since 2004, KLS Love to Learn education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported thousands of young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family/carers needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.

Job Summary
As Rose Voucher Project Officer, you will be working alongside the Southwark Rose Voucher Project Lead to forward the development of the Rose Voucher Project in Southwark. Your key areas of responsibility will be registering new families onto the Rose Voucher Project, overseeing the two Rose Voucher distribution sessions which take place at both our centres, supported by our dedicated Rose Voucher volunteers, and coordinating and supporting the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Project. The Role

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The opportunity
We are seeking to recruit a Suicide Prevention Therapist to support men in suicidal crisis at our centre in central London. We are looking for an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our collaborative semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. You will report to a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist.
We opened the London centre in 2022 and this appointment is the last part of our expansion phase. New therapists will join an experienced supportive team and will gradually build a caseload to meet the growth of referral partnerships and increased awareness raising in London. As a part of this phase of the expansion, therapists may be involved in outreach, partnerships and other projects before dedicating their time to a full caseload supporting four men in suicidal crisis per day.
The Charity
James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 1500 men and delivered over 7000 sessions of our life-saving intervention. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.
Building on the success of our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle, we are now expanding our model to reach more men in suicidal crisis. Our aim is to have five centres open across England by 2026.

JOB PURPOSE
To inspire people with mental health conditions to progress, and to gain and sustain paid employment. Working as a specialist practitioner within our Hope intensive support team which is a peripatetic team you will be providing support, multiagency advocacy, case management support and guidance for support workers and clients in our refuges who are multiply disadvantaged and require intensive, well planned and implemented support to recover from the abuse they have experienced, to remain safe from further domestic abuse and to address the additional disadvantages they experience which put their wellbeing and that of their children at further risk. The role includes case management for refuge clients and families who are within the top 20% in terms of vulnerability. This could stem from a multiplicity of intersecting circumstances or being severely vulnerable in one specific area or a mixture of both, bringing expertise in supporting people with mental ill health and you will be a source of ad hoc professional advice for refuge practitioners delivering support to those with mental ill health within the remaining refuge caseload.

JOB PURPOSE
To inspire people with severe and enduring mental health conditions to progress and to gain and sustain paid employment and contribute to a thriving team and organisation.
The Employment Specialist (ES) role will work across and within the local Barnet or Haringey secondary care network. You will work to assist referred patients (clients) to find competitive and sustained employment. Around 25% of referrals will be to assist clients to remain in work if struggling, or return to work, if off sick.
Employment Specialists will follow the 8 principles of IPS, adhere to the IPS Fidelity Scale and achieve monthly targets and KPIs with the required administration and compliance.
You will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives. Although you will receive full training and support, it’s important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Engage a caseload of clients with serious mental health problems and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them into employment in line with contract targets and IPS fidelity.
2. Assess clients’ employment support needs; implementing and adjusting employment plans as necessary to support each client’s desired outcomes along IPS requirements.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to meet clients’ needs including career guidance, job searching, CV preparation, interview skills, individual coping techniques or work coaching.
4. Build a constant flow of referrals to ensure a dynamic caseload.
5. Conduct weekly employer engagement activity in line with IPS Fidelity.
6. Understand the complex issues a client may face, recognise holistic support needs and work in conjunction with clinical staff.
7. Facilitate access to expert financial advice on welfare benefits and ‘access to work’ resources.
8. Provide support and reasonable adjustments if required, to employed clients to support them to stay and progress in work.
9. Regularly attend clinical team meetings to provide advice and information on employment and IPS.
10. Collaborate with community partners to raise awareness of employment and mental health issues and promote access to the service.
11. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.
12. Update and maintain NHS database (RIO).
13. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.
14. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.
15. Comply with and actively promote all Twining policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, safeguarding and data protection.
