Job description

We are looking to appoint a trainer to deliver management training through RAD’s Deaf Advance programme as we enter a major expansion phase.

The successful candidate will be a native signer or have a native level of fluency in British Sign Language (BSL). If you are an experienced management trainer, or a generalist trainer with practical management experience, we would be delighted to meet you. 

Working closely with an experienced Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) trainer, you will enter a period of learning (through coaching and mentoring) to prepare you for independent delivery of ILM management courses.

Your work will make a positive difference to the lives of deaf people across Britain.

This is a permanent contract with life assurance benefit and generous pension contributions. 

Essential requirements:

  • Evidenced participation in CPD over the past three years (relevant to the role/ subject area) and up to date CPD log.
  • Experience of training design/delivery and an understanding of the training cycle.
  • A valid and recognised training/teaching qualification or evidence of current (within the last three years) experience of delivering regular training relevant to the level and subject area.
  • Experience and strong occupational competence within a managerial role.
  • Recent experience of delivering and assessing training (preferably management training).
  • Experience of working within a quality framework.
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of a range of teaching and learning methodologies relevant to the level and subject area.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Diplomacy and sensitivity in handling difficult situations.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Ability to tailor communication to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Flexible approach to working.
  • Must be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

This post is subject to two references and an enhanced DBS check. Both have to be satisfactory to RAD.
