We’re looking for a proactive Community Engagement Officer with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude who is willing to learn, grow and take ownership of this newly created and unique role.

You’ll be a warm and friendly communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be excited about raising support and awareness for SSR’s work with those affected by scoliosis.

As the Community Engagement Officer, working with the Community Engagement Manager you will manage relationships with regular donors and support individuals to fundraise effectively for SSR as well as thanking fundraisers and donors.

You will work with the Community Engagement Manager to support our wider fundraising efforts by providing administrative support.

A significant part of your role will be to respond to Helpline enquiries, either by phone or email. You will be the first point of contact.  Training will be given on this.

You will also handle liaising and looking after our members and processing new membership applications.

You’ll work closely with the Community Engagement Manager on any events. The yearly ‘Scoliosis Awareness Day’ event, along with the Zorab Symposium which takes place every three years and any patient meetings that take place.

You will need to be able to travel to the office at least one day a week.  Days worked can be agreed to suit the successful candidate.

You will need database experience. We use E Tapestry, but Raisers Edge or other charity database experience is relevant.

There is scope to take greater responsibility across all areas of the job description depending on your experience and personal development ambitions and there may be scope for increased hours as the role progresses.

All parts of the Church will need to raise funds to implement this net zero plan. The Giving Directorate is leading on the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments. In addition, The Giving Directorate and NetZero Programme Team will be engaging with funders at a national level to secure investment for projects.

In 2024 and 2025, the Church of England is testing and piloting a range of approaches to help churches fundraise for projects. In 2023 The Giving Directorate piloted Give To Go Green, a parish match-funding grant scheme that will grow in 2024 to help 300 more churches with over £1m in grants towards carbon-cutting projects.

As Net Zero Fundraising Project Officer, you will work in The Giving Directorate to support the National Fundraising Advisor to deliver a strategy that enables dioceses and churches to secure funds for carbon cutting projects. You will develop and maintain resources, guidance and training and help share best practice across the country.

Job summary:

You will provide administrative support to the national fundraising workstream and the Give to Go Green match funding campaign. With a range of projects and fundraising initiatives, the post holder will work collaboratively within The Giving Directorate and with the Net Zero programme team, with diocesan colleagues and with church volunteers.

Main responsibilities

Sharing Best Practice:

• Coordinating the sharing of funding opportunities, case studies and training materials across the Church of England.
• Developing, improving and maintaining national fundraising resources for Net Zero Carbon projects, including web resources
• Updating the National List of Church Funders.
• Gathering fundraising case studies and sharing with Net Zero Communications & Engagement Coordinator.
• Responding to diocesan and parish queries about funding opportunities.

Supporting Grant Making:

• Supporting on the fundraising side of the Give To Go Green parish match funding project which may include acting as the primary point of contact for churches participating and advising on fundraising, reporting on income raised in parish fundraising campaigns, developing and improving resources, issuing grant agreements, and setting up meetings and webinars as required.

Project Administration:

• Collating reports, researching prospective donors and sharing information with key National Church Institutions (NCIs) stakeholders to support national fundraising workstream.
• Providing administration for national fundraising workstream by organising internal and external meetings.
• Providing administrative support for training events, webinars and conferences.
  
  

Experience

Essential:

• Experience of fundraising or encouraging giving in a paid capacity
• Experience of working successfully in multi-disciplinary teams across departments in a complex organisation.

Desirable:

• Previous experience of working in a customer-service support function.
• Experience in planning, seeking and applying for funding from grant makers.
• Experience of working within the Church sector, either in a paid or voluntary capacity, ideally in relation to giving, fundraising, or church finances.
• Experience working in the environment/low-carbon/sustainability sector.

A professional fundraising or carbon literacy qualification is desirable. The postholder should also have willingness to study and gain membership of the Institute of Fundraising, if not already a member.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. RSTMH is a charity and membership society for those working or interested in tropical medicine and global health, and currently have almost 1,800 members from more than 90 countries, with a network of more than 10,000 involved with our work in some way. We are looking for an experienced Membership Manager who will help us manage all aspects of our membership programme. This involves maintaining high levels of retention and developing and delivering new recruitment strategies for members across the world.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:   

As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for Women’s Aid communications – including major campaign moments and brand awareness. Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer: 

• To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

• To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required. 

• To develop relevant media and social media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects. 

• To work with colleagues to ensure the campaigns take an intersectional approach and centres the most marginalised voices.

• At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar. 

• Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally.

• Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems. 

• Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders.

• Lead, inspire and develop the team at Action Hampshire to deliver our purpose
• Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure delivery and regular review of Action Hampshire’s (‘the charity’) vision, mission and strategic plans 
• Deliver the charity’s vision and mission through appropriate plans and in accordance with agreed policies and protocols. 
• Support and advise the Board to meet its responsibilities to ensure that the charity is legally compliant, well run and meets its organisational duties and obligations

The public profile and influence of NHS Providers has grown significantly over the last few years and our high performing communications team has played a key role in this. As we take forward this work, we are looking to recruit a new marketing officer to support the organisation’s marketing communications activities and raise awareness of the breadth of work we offer to members, including our development programmes, professional networks, commercial partnerships activities, training, events, conferences and access to exclusive content and opportunities.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the communications department by facilitating the delivery of marketing communications initiatives. Your primary focus will be on enhancing member retention and engagement through digital and traditional channels, which include events and conferences, membership benefits/offers, commercial partnership activities, creation and distribution of e-newsletters and emails marketing, and overall support in the promotion of the organisation’s outputs.

A small but highly specialist professional membership body & not-for-profit is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role is paying circa £32,000 per annum and offers hybrid working – this will be a mixture of office-based work in central London and home-working. They also offer a generous pension and other benefits.

The organisation is a professional membership body with a range of products and services aimed at raising awareness of quality (governance, assurance, improvement) and growing capability within organisations in all sectors. They offer a range of membership services and events to members as well as issuing a prestigious ‘quality’ qualification and a training portfolio.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, The Finance Officer will work in a small finance team, and will primarily focus on 3 core areas:

1. Purchase Ledger (invoices and payment runs)
2. Payroll (using SAAS, software as a service where a payroll system is rented from an external provider but effectively done in-house) for around 50 staff
3. Month-end duties (reconciliations and journals)

Other duties will include assisting with sales ledger, dealing with suppliers, financial admin & filing and assisting the Management Accountant with various duties.

The organisation is seeking an experienced, professional Finance Officer, ideally AAT fully-qualified or ACCA/CIMA part qualified. Experience with charity sector finance will be useful but not essential. Experience with payroll will also be very useful, however this is not essential as training will be provided.
