We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.
This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.
The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. We have created a Marketing & Engagement Coordinator post to help us achieve this ambition, through managing and increasing engagement with the charity’s members and other stakeholders. Importantly, you need excellent verbal and written communication skills to successfully convey the ABF’s brand, and the ability to build and maintain positive, trusted relationships with stakeholders.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.
This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. You will also be expected to attend a number of board-level meetings held on weekends to take meeting minutes - further details are listed in the Key Responsibilities section.

Key Responsibilities

Taking charge of the day-to-day financial activities and office administration of the organisation.

Ensuring high-accuracy bookkeeping and bank reconciliation are completed to deadlines.

Ensuring adequate financial documents are filed on Drive to comply with the audit requirements.

Preparing invoices and receipts to stakeholders as required.

Generating month-end Budget vs. Actual Report from accounting software on time, for the Director of Finance and Operations to review.

Preparing financial data for quarterly Finance Report in tables for the Director of Finance and Operations to conduct quarterly financial analysis.

Assisting the Director of Finance and Operations with the preparation of financial data, tables and files for the annual budgeting and UK audit.

Reviewing and processing expense claims. And ensuring the Expenses Policy is being followed.

Preparing and attaching expense receipts to the CEO’s monthly credit card statements.

Being the first point of contact of the organisation. Managing office inbox, answering office calls and sorting out the letters.

Attending online board meetings (four times a year on Saturdays) and investment committee meetings (twice a year on weekdays between 5-7pm) to take meeting minutes. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance. TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring a Service Manager to join and lead our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for an experienced leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
The service provides a safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service which spans over 3 buildings and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way.
You will the have overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents. Your role is to ensure full contract and regulatory compliance whilst being a role model/leader for your team to achieve KPI's and other requirements as per the service needs.
Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week in service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs. You will also take part in our on call service.

Financial Management
- Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

This is a critical time to join our dedicated and friendly Fellowship Programme team as we expand our capacity to support at-risk academics from the Middle East, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Russia and many other countries.
Part-time Fellowship Programme Assistant Role & Responsibilities
· Produce a weekly list of payments.
· Produce financial paperwork.
· Schedule Fellows’ placement disbursements on SalesForce (SF) – those having simple funding allocations and support the schedule of more complex funding requests when needed.
· Update disbursement details once paid on a weekly basis.
· Input payments made via our Pleo card to SF and link allocations.
· Update details for new grant requests (funding request status, disbursement details, and relevant allocations) and ongoing requests when needed.
· Support management of Fellowship-related grants (English, hardship, mentoring, small grants).
· Create payments and allocations for opportunities on SF once an award letter has been issued.
· Track invoice status and notify colleagues to initiate the invoicing process.
· Send invoice requests to our bookkeeper and update the relevant opportunities and payments on SF.
· Draft invoices when needed.
· Update opportunities and payments on SF for invoice paid/funding received.
· Analyse data for reporting to stakeholders and donors.
· Assist during the yearly audit.

We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Deputy Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for a leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma .
The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. Casework
- Provide support for a caseload of at-risk academics (Cara Fellows) carrying out research placements at UK or international universities
- Assess Fellows’ suitability for academic placements/extensions
- Assess, arrange or signpost additional support for Fellows
- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.

Administration

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Corporate Relationship Manager – 12-Month Maternity Cover
Team/Directorate: Corporate / Fundraising
Salary range/pay band: £32,000-£39,000 FTE (pro rata)
Reports to: Lead Corporate Engagement Manager
Hours: 30 hours per week
Location: Shooting Star House, Hampton and from home as agreed with line manager. Ad hoc working from Christopher’s, Guildford.
Part 1: Job Profile
a) Main purpose of job
The post will be responsible for identifying and developing new and existing relationships with corporate partners and prospects to fundraise and generate income to assist the team in reaching agreed income targets.
b) Work relationships
The post holder will work closely with and report to the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager and will also work closely with the following:
• Existing Corporate Relationship Managers regarding managing corporate partners and supporting new business proposals.
• Head of Philanthropy and Partnership and the Major Giving Manager to support and maximise philanthropy and corporate trust opportunities.
• Challenge Events Team to deliver and promote a programme of activities that are tailored to the company’s fundraising targets and objectives
• Heads of Care and Lead Nurses regarding hospice visits, and in hospice activities to make sure they are fully up to date on all aspects of our Care services in order to communicate effectively with partners, and when organising volunteer opportunities at the hospices.
• Communication & Marketing Team for support with proposals and presentations, key communications and digital activity
• Community fundraising team when passing over accounts for them to manage and for them to hand over leads
• Wider fundraising team in identifying opportunities to maximise income and other opportunities for SSCH.
• Retail team regarding organising activities within our shops
• Work with all SSCH teams for sourcing potential sponsorship and Gifts in Kind
• External contacts such as all corporate accounts, bespoke event organisers, 3rd party companies such as Pennies, Payroll giving agencies

Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities
a) Account Management – 40%
• Working with the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager and the Corporate Team to plan and implement strategies to maximise income and support from all agreed business partners whilst prioritising our most valuable partners
• Manage corporate partnerships, and one-off corporate events, ensuring that all opportunities are maximised and where possible more sustainable, longer-term funding is generated
• Managing accurate and effective administration systems, enabling good contact management and financial reporting for the team and updating the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager on a regular basis
• Responsibility for maintaining and developing an accurate database of activities to enable the effective reporting, monitoring and analysis of business relationship management activity and achievements
b) New Business Development – 25%
• Proactively identifying, researching, prioritising and making effective approaches to corporate prospects in relation to the spectrum of Corporate Social Responsibility activities - Charity of the year, sponsorship, donations and volunteering opportunities
• Planning, designing and presenting compelling presentations and proposals with assistance from the Communications & Marketing team for new business approaches and presentations
• Working with the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager and the rest of the corporate team, in preparing the corporate new business pipeline, ensuring an adequate supply of research prospects in their industry sectors are available to meet the team’s income targets. Producing regular contact reports and updates for internal and external tracking of partnership progress
• Keeping accurate records of all correspondence with prospects and contacts on Raiser’s Edge.
• Maintaining and developing an accurate database of activities to enable the effective reporting, monitoring and analysis of New Business activity and achievements.
c) Sponsorship and Partnerships 20%
• Plan proposals to approach existing /new partners to become sponsors of our key events
• Approach companies to obtain gifts in kind to help support the activities across the charity.
d) Strategic Planning – 10%
• Supporting the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager in the fulfilment of the team’s strategy and team objectives
• Working with the Lead Corporate Engagement Manager to plan and implement strategies to secure new corporate support that have a potential value of over £5,000.
e) Cross Team working – 5%
• Working with fundraising colleagues to ensure understanding of account management needs of new corporate partners. This will involve regular meetings and account updates
• Keeping up to date with charity-wide best practice/policies relating to corporate engagement and fundraising activities by networking, attending presentations and peer to peer communications
• Work with all appropriate teams to get all relevant information when putting together applications and presentations
f) Other duties
• The post holder must be able and willing to get to/work in both hospices, Christopher’s in Guildford, and our fundraising base at Shooting Star House in Hampton as required.
• The post holder should be prepared to attend meetings and events on behalf of SSCH in different parts of the country. Some meetings and events may be during evenings or weekends.
