About the role
Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning.
We’re looking for someone who can support the team to develop, co-create, train and deliver inclusive and exciting learning that encourages creativity, curiosity and critical thinking in the areas of philanthropy and grant making. Your role will be diverse and a blend of project work, event management and administration. You will be involved in organising conferences, meetings, hosting webinars, managing specific areas of work and building relationships.
Our members vary from very small teams with two or three staff to well established very well resourced foundations. The Membership and Learning team are the contact point for all CFs: answering members’ enquiries, championing best practice and raising standards.

As we move into large-scale programme delivery and evaluation, we are expanding the Programmes and Grant Directorate with two new Heads of Programmes roles. Each postholder will lead the development and implementation of a major area of programming, overseeing high quality delivery and ensuring that the work we fund generates robust evidence and insight.
As Head of Programmes, you will manage the work of a cross-functional team delivering a programme of grants, research, evaluation, communications, youth involvement and associated activity. We are looking for a capable, proactive person to support the programme from initial mobilisation through to an eventual large-scale trial. The Senior Programme Support Officer will support the Head of Programmes to develop, mobilise and deliver Building Futures. The postholder will take the lead on specific tasks, and coordinate the work of the wider cross-organisational Building Futures team.
You will liaise with external partners and stakeholders, as well as supporting multiple internal customers and workstreams, often to tight deadlines. You will support key external engagement processes, in particular our programme Steering Group and Youth Advisory Group, working with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of these meetings and capture key decisions and inputs to feed back into programme delivery.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Programme Liaison Officer (full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months, with possibility to extend) will join the expanding Sector Improvement Team. They will provide vital administration, communication and digital liaison and support required to successfully run and deliver the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award, achieve the Sector Improvement Team’s key objectives, and contribute to the whole charity’s mission and goals. This is an exciting opportunity to help the team scale the University Mental Health Charter, with the potential to impact 2.5 million staff and students across the UK.
This role will include responding to queries, liaising with assessors, universities and general enquiries. The post holder will be responsible for working with the team to develop and monitor our HUB and digital platforms, for developing regular newsletters and working with colleagues to liaise with the many stakeholders involved in the assessment and programme processes.
Key responsibilities
Liaison support
- Provide effective liaison and administrative support to the Sector Improvement Programme(s), working closely with the Sector Improvement Lead and Programme Managers to ensure thesuccessful delivery of the programmes
- Support the planning and delivery of key Sector Improvement Programme activities such as the Winter Panel and the recruitment of the Award Assessors, CPD training and responding togeneral enquiries
- Act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders’ inquiries through the Charter Inbox and Student Minds’ Hub
Digital and resources support
- Utilise project management tools to manage work, deadlines and workflows alongside relevant colleagues to ensure timely and quality programme delivery
- Support the development of resources and documents for the charter, including newsletters, HUB announcements, Charter Handbook etc.
- Work closely with the Comms and Digital Team internally to develop and communicate clear timelines and resources needed throughout the year
- Support the annual onboarding of the Charter Programme, supporting the administrative tasks for the process, including some financial support. Lead on bringing together and distributing key documents such as welcome packs, Charter Framework documents etc.
- Support the coordinator (Programme and HUB) to onboard universities and Assessors to the HUB, and develop and grow the platform for members
- Update and oversee the Sector Improvement annual calendar of events and key activities/deliverables and share with the wider Student Minds team, identifying where dates may need to be moved
- Actively participate in the testing and embedding of new digital systems being led by the Digital
- Product Manager to increase efficiency and engagement for the Sector Improvement Programme and organisation as a whole for example collating product requirements
Financial support
- Work with the Programme Support Officer and finance colleagues to ensure correct processes and procedures are followed accurately and compliant with finance requirements
- Act as a secondary card holder for the team, making online purchases such as accommodation and travel bookings and following policies, procedures and guidance in the correct and responsible use of the Student Minds card
Data and process administration
- Administer data princesses for the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award process, in line with Data Protection Guidelines
- Collate evaluation data from Sector Improvement events (online and in person)
- Create essential documents requested by the Sector Improvement Programme team, to support programme delivery and scalability
- Use our database(s) to manage relationships and communications with programme participants and key stakeholders, ensuring it is always up-to-date

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistical support

- Administer finances for our Sector Improvement programmes; issuing purchase orders and ensuring timely payments
- Work with finance colleagues to ensure correct processes and procedures are followed accurately and compliant with finance requirements, and identify areas for process improvement
- Act as a cardholder for the team, making online purchases such as accommodation and travel bookings and following policies, procedures and guidance in the correct and responsible use of the Student Minds card
Data and process administration

Background
Our 68-year-old charity is one of the most exciting and flexible employers in the charity sector. Having supported 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and their 100,000 heroic volunteer fundraisers to raise more than £1 Billion during the past decade, last year we began to lay the foundations for significant growth in impact during the decade ahead, not just to extend the impact of PTAs, but to provide more broader support for parents in enabling their children to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
During the summer, we launched a membership magazine (PTA Extra), and a popular programme of parent webinar covering such topics as: ‘Supporting your child’s mental health’, ‘Helping your child succeed in KS2 English’, ‘Neurodiversity in Children Matters’.In the autumn began building a fundraising team to support PTAs by fundraising at the national level.In December we launched the highly successful ‘National Parent Survey’ to explore the challenges and concerns parents face. Main purpose and scope of Role
This role will play key to engaging with and supporting PTAs across the region, as well as a variety of stakeholders such as schools, parent groups, local authorities, potential sponsors or supporters and other organisations as our suite of programmes grows. This role initially focuses on the following, but is subject to change as programmes are launched or evolved:
PTA Programme
- Growing our network of PTAs.
- Supporting PTAs through leadership transition to minimise PTAs closing unnecessarily.
- Organising gatherings of PTAs to enhance the PTA community.
- Providing training and awareness sessions for PTAs.
- Providing community support to PTAs during peak activity periods online or by phone.
- Helping schools establish PTAs and supporting them during their first year through our new PTA Launchpad programme.
- Hosting and co-ordinating virtual webinars/meetings to demonstrate the value of PTA membership and the support available.
Parent Programme
- Raising awareness of Parentkind’s growing programme of support for parents, directly or indirectly through schools or other partners.
- Building relationships with parent groups to support engagement with our growing suite of parent support opportunities.
- Organising events for parents as part of our Parent Programme.
- Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.
Other Programmes/Services
- Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.

Wider Stakeholder Engagement:

About the role
You’ll be part of our Membership team within the wider Involvement and Movement Building team, ensuring everyone who is a member of the charity has a participatory and audience-led experience. You’ll be responsible for creating engaging email, online and offline communications for members, with members. You will oversee the members' joining process and will support Membership colleagues with the delivery of events and the day-to-day running of the programme to make sure membership upholds our principles of being simple, inclusive, participatory and accessible for all.
Your role is integral to promoting a variety of engagement activities which give members the opportunity to use their voice and experience to shape and influence the charity. You will communicate and celebrate the impact of the collective voice of membership ensuring members are valued and see the impact they’re making.
What you’ll do:

Collaborate and work with members (in-person and online) to create engaging communications.

Build and schedule email content into Salesforce Marketing Cloud (training will be given)

Be responsible for ensuring that the membership website pages content is kept relevant, useful & up to date.

Oversee the new joiners process, (online and offline) including the production of materials, fulfilment and reporting.

Work with print and fulfilment agencies to ensure accuracy of work and timely processing.

Main purpose and scope of Role
