We welcome applications from people who may have struggled with maths and numbers and have a personal understanding of the experiences of our beneficiaries.
National Numeracy is based near Brighton but with significant home working potential. The expectation is that you will be in the office occasionally when the work requires it, but we offer significant flexibility opportunities. The role may include regular travel to London and beyond.
We welcome applications from candidates looking to work either four or five days per week.

The Diocese of Southwark is the third largest Diocese, by population, in the Church of England, covering most of south London and East Surrey, and is also one of the most ethnically diverse dioceses in the United Kingdom. Almost 40% of our churches are attended by a majority of UKME/GMH congregations and a large proportion of the pupils in our schools also come from ethnically diverse backgrounds. We recognise, celebrate, and embrace this diversity, committing to an integrated Diocesan approach to racial justice, as reflected in our Diocesan Vision, and prioritising and supporting healing and reconciliation in our communities.
In 2021 we launched the Diocese of Southwark's Anti Racism Charter (ARC): Strategies for enhancing ethnic diversity and inclusion which builds on earlier work in the Diocese and developed a subsequent 12-point plan to embed the ARC in real action.
We have worked hard to embed the ARC into our Diocesan vision and our management oversight structures and are now focusing even more intentionally on our recruitment, training and education challenges in our parishes and in the communities they serve.
This is an ideal opportunity if you are a practising Christian with a good knowledge of the Bible and an understanding of the theology of the place of racial justice in the church, and have experience of:
- Working within the realm of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
- Leading engagement/change programmes and organising events
- Working with a diverse range of stakeholders from different disciplines and with differing viewpoints
- Experience of working to deliver Racial Justice initiatives in varied contexts
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to make a real difference to the work and progress of the Diocese, and more widely the National Church, in advancing in the area of racial justice for all.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven sales and marketing leader to play a central role in the next stage of Challenge Partners’ development and growth.
Established by headteachers in 2011, Challenge Partners is an education charity with a mission to reduce educational inequality and improve the life chances of all children. We do this by accelerating school improvement, leadership development, and pupil progress across the 575 schools in our partnership. We share excellent practice between schools and trusts through rigorous peer reviews, tailored school improvement programmes, and national and local collaboration.
By driving our sales and marketing activity, you will deliver a crucial strand of our ambitious strategy to enhance and extend Challenge Partners to benefit 500,000 pupils each year by 2027. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your main objective will be to inspire schools and trusts to join Challenge Partners. You will do this by leading a small sales and marketing team, and personally securing sales. You will also be responsible for enhancing our brand, PR and communications, and will support our fundraising efforts.
You will be the sales and marketing expert in the organisation, with good commercial sense and sensitivity to the sector. You will be able to design, execute and monitor impactful campaigns to help us reach new schools and trusts. You will have the personal credibility to win the confidence of school and trust leaders and the tenacity to convert interest into sales.
You will be a strong and highly skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and strengthen new and existing relationships. As a confident public speaker, you will engage and inspire audiences of school and trust leaders. As a senior leader you will have a track record of building, managing and developing high-performing teams and play an important role on our Leadership Team in steering the organisation and upholding our culture.
It’s not all about the strategic. We are a small, but diverse and dynamic team. We expect everyone in the central team to get stuck in, so you will need to be comfortable to both set the strategy and ‘do the do’ in the functions you oversee.
We would really welcome your application (via BeApplied) if you want to make a difference to children’s lives and are an experienced marketing and sales specialist within the education sector.
All employees at Challenge Partners will be subject to an enhanced DBS check as part of our commitment to safeguarding.

Remote role, with regular travel across West Yorkshire and North East England.
We are Zarach: the children’s bed charity. Our story and our work have captured the nation’s attention, with regular appearances on local and national TV, and with our 2023 Christmas Appeal being supported by The Independent. Our charity was built upon voluntary endeavour and over the last six years we have continued to be incredibly well supported by people who choose to give their time, effort, skills, and experiences as volunteers to our mission of seeking to end child bed poverty in England.
We are honoured and humbled to have people volunteer with us on both a regular and more ad-hoc basis, and across different areas of the work we do. In the coming years we are seeking to respond to the increasing problem of child bed poverty through:
-
Providing more bed bundles to children.
-
Providing additional support for families.
-
Using our experiences and learning to influence for change.
There are a significant number of volunteering opportunities we want to provide, and we are now looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to take this vital area of our work forward.
The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully supporting the promotion of volunteering opportunities, recruiting volunteers, overseeing volunteers’ induction and core training, and in the ongoing engagement and recognition of volunteers and their amazing contributions.
The main geographical areas (whilst not exclusively) of focus for us in the coming period are across the M62 corridor and the North East of England. The postholder would be required to travel across these areas but also beyond this, as we seek to then support more children in areas of greatest need across England in due course.
If joining a nationally captivating charity, that is in a period of exciting development, is what you’re looking for, please:
-
Look at the job description and person specification for this role.
-
Read through the supporting slides about our Mission, Values and Vision.
-
Look at us across social media to find out more about our work and story.
If you would like to apply for this role, please submit an up-to-date CV and a supporting letter (of no more than three pages in size 12 font) about why you would like to join Zarach and how you fulfil the requirements of the role. The deadline for applications is Sunday 7th April at 5pm and we won’t be able to accept applications after this time. We will be looking to hold interviews on 18th April.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
