Key Responsibilities:
· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.
· Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective partners from across companies, trusts and foundations.
· Research and maintain an on-going, sustainable pipeline of prospects including new trusts and foundations, companies and industry sectors.
· Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding.

· Keep accurate, relevant, timely records on our CRM and maintain regular communication with relevant teams including operations, finance, marketing and fundraising teams.

· Where appropriate, attend events to meet funders and/or promote EDT.
· Work closely with relevant teams to embed monitoring and evaluation throughout the funding process. Report on progress, results and income in a timely manner.
· Work with the Fundraising Manager with analysing trends to support the fundraising strategy.
Competencies and Attributes:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organisation skills - can manage workload and deadlines and proactively work to achieve timely delivery.
· Experience of securing funding from grant makers and/or companies.
· Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, funding applications and reports.
· Knowledge of managing funders' relationships. Knowledge of databases/data management, including producing reports.
· A strong team player, who can communicate effectively and engage colleagues at all levels and develop strong and productive relationships.
· Attention to detail and IT proficiency.
· Understanding of applicable legislation.

We are seeking to recruit a person with passion for our purpose and a collaborative spirit to be the strategic lead on our football and multisport commitment.
The multi-sport facilities commitment is a key priority within Sport England’s Uniting the Movement Implementation Plan. As part of this commitment, up to £224 million of Government funding is being invested into football facilities for 2022-25 through the Football Foundation, with a minimum of 40% of that investment required to benefit other sports.
We are seeking a strategic lead who will focus on supporting our Active Partnership network to activate football and multi-sport community sites through influencing policy, distributing funds and working closely with key National Governing Bodies, sporting and football stakeholders to develop positive and sustainable relationships.
This role and the work of colleagues, including local Active Partnerships, ensures local communities have more access to places to play football and other sports in their local area and aligns with Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy.
The strategic lead will also work closely with the Multi-Sport programme manager and Active Environment lead to oversee the Multi-Sport Activity and Facilities Fund, which was announced last year and which will provide revenue funding to deliver multi-sport activity and some small-scale capital test and learn investment. Close working with the eight regional leads who liaise with local Active Partnerships will also be vital.
The Active Partnerships National Organisation (ANPO) will work on the programme alongside key partners. These include Active Partnerships from across the network to deliver the fund locally, the Football Foundation, the LTA Parks Tennis, England Hockey, and Sport England. The latter has invested £8 million of National Lottery funding across a four-year period.
The fund is an opportunity for local communities to fully benefit from facility activation investment in their area, where an opportunity for new multi-sport activity has been identified. The fund will focus on activating PlayZones and other Football Foundation 3G or grass pitches, parks (Lawn Tennis Association Parks Tennis) and artificial grass pitch sites (England Hockey) in targeted areas. Selection is based on criteria such as Active Partnerships priority places and Sport England’s place-based expansion.
Roles and Responsibilities
•Develop and lead relationships with Sport England and strategic partners, specifically with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) leads and the Football Foundation.
•Link to and support wider areas of football work through Sport England, the Football Foundation, the Football Association and other football partners, ensuring strong connectivity with the Active Partnerships network.
•Be responsible and accountable for developing and delivering against an agreed strategic and operational framework, including risk management, governance, and evaluation.
•Develop and support implementation of strategic frameworks for communication and monitoring, evaluation and learning for the investment, ensuring a joined-up approach to maximise the impact.
•Contribute towards achieving the Active Partnerships National Organisation’s strategy and linking football and multi-sport facilities investment to other pieces of work across the national team.
•Ensure equality equity diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainability, are key considerations for this area of work.
•Be responsible for ensuring that the local Active Partnerships network has the opportunity to be embedded across all areas of football and multi-sport investment including multi-sport facilities and PlayZones.

•Be the budget holder for all the investment and work with Sport England, to ensure any use of central resource is insight led and effective.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced project officer with a passion for working with communities, to inspire and support people to discover, explore and take community-led action for nature in Greater Manchester. This role will work closely with established partners and existing RSPB local groups and volunteers, including the Greater Manchester Swift Champions, to develop new opportunities to work with community groups, focusing on supporting creating new habitats for swifts, one of the UK’s most threatened species. You will explore opportunities for working more closely with young people, with the aspiration to establish two RSPB youth groups in Greater Manchester and a Swift Youth Action Group focused on 16 – 24-year-olds. You will identify where the RSPB can best support and enhance nature, with guidance from local conservation staff.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead front-line delivery of RSPB’s community engagement work at a local level, inspiring people to connect with nature through an 18-month programme of events and activities. Central to this will be recruitment and management of a network of volunteers. The Project Officer will be responsible for developing and running a rolling programme of training to enable volunteers to develop skills to allow them to continue to support nature-based initiatives.
You will have experience of delivering community projects, events and experience of volunteer recruitment, induction and management, and the ability to motivate volunteers to independently deliver organisational objectives. The confidence to make decisions that enable the continued delivery of key objectives and to keep the project on track is crucial, as is the ability to communicate these decisions, where applicable, with stakeholders and partners.
Specific tasks:
- To lead our community engagement work in Greater Manchester, inspiring local communities to take action for nature, ensuring work is resilient and sustainable beyond the life of the project.
- To build a full picture of local environmental networks and the range of nature recovery and environmental work taking place locally, identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships.
- Act as an advocate for nature recovery within a diverse range of sectors including local government and private businesses to further our support for nature.
- Build links and strengthen existing relationships with RSPB Local Groups and other volunteer-led work taking place in urban green spaces, liaising closely with partners.
- To lead and continue to grow the Greater Manchester Swift Champion network of volunteers with the support of the Species Volunteer Network (SVN), which will allow us to do more for Swifts within local communities.
- Identify opportunities for youth involvement in establishing a Swift Champions Youth Action Group and two new RSPB Youth Groups, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver a series of volunteer recruitment, induction, and training days to increase numbers of new active volunteers within Manchester as well as building resilience and upskilling existing volunteers.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Programme Liaison Officer (full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months, with possibility to extend) will join the expanding Sector Improvement Team. They will provide vital administration, communication and digital liaison and support required to successfully run and deliver the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award, achieve the Sector Improvement Team’s key objectives, and contribute to the whole charity’s mission and goals. This is an exciting opportunity to help the team scale the University Mental Health Charter, with the potential to impact 2.5 million staff and students across the UK.
This role will include responding to queries, liaising with assessors, universities and general enquiries. The post holder will be responsible for working with the team to develop and monitor our HUB and digital platforms, for developing regular newsletters and working with colleagues to liaise with the many stakeholders involved in the assessment and programme processes.
Key responsibilities
Liaison support
- Provide effective liaison and administrative support to the Sector Improvement Programme(s), working closely with the Sector Improvement Lead and Programme Managers to ensure thesuccessful delivery of the programmes
- Support the planning and delivery of key Sector Improvement Programme activities such as the Winter Panel and the recruitment of the Award Assessors, CPD training and responding togeneral enquiries
- Act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders’ inquiries through the Charter Inbox and Student Minds’ Hub
Digital and resources support
- Utilise project management tools to manage work, deadlines and workflows alongside relevant colleagues to ensure timely and quality programme delivery
- Support the development of resources and documents for the charter, including newsletters, HUB announcements, Charter Handbook etc.
- Work closely with the Comms and Digital Team internally to develop and communicate clear timelines and resources needed throughout the year
- Support the annual onboarding of the Charter Programme, supporting the administrative tasks for the process, including some financial support. Lead on bringing together and distributing key documents such as welcome packs, Charter Framework documents etc.
- Support the coordinator (Programme and HUB) to onboard universities and Assessors to the HUB, and develop and grow the platform for members
- Update and oversee the Sector Improvement annual calendar of events and key activities/deliverables and share with the wider Student Minds team, identifying where dates may need to be moved
- Actively participate in the testing and embedding of new digital systems being led by the Digital
- Product Manager to increase efficiency and engagement for the Sector Improvement Programme and organisation as a whole for example collating product requirements
Financial support
- Work with the Programme Support Officer and finance colleagues to ensure correct processes and procedures are followed accurately and compliant with finance requirements
- Act as a secondary card holder for the team, making online purchases such as accommodation and travel bookings and following policies, procedures and guidance in the correct and responsible use of the Student Minds card
Data and process administration
- Administer data princesses for the University Mental Health Charter Programme and Award process, in line with Data Protection Guidelines
- Collate evaluation data from Sector Improvement events (online and in person)
- Create essential documents requested by the Sector Improvement Programme team, to support programme delivery and scalability
- Use our database(s) to manage relationships and communications with programme participants and key stakeholders, ensuring it is always up-to-date

- Assessment accreditation processes
- Maintain key working relationships with our network of Assessors and University Award Leads, addressing queries, scheduling and minuting award panels, sharing actions with the team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistical support
- Provide effective logistical and administrative support to the Sector Improvement Programme(s), working closely with the Sector Improvement Lead and Programme Managers to ensure the successful delivery of the programmes
