The award-winning ISM is the dynamic, change making professional membership body for musicians. With a current membership of over 11,000, the ISM is known for its campaigning work as well as services to musicians ranging from legal support and representation to counselling and professional development.

The ISM is now looking for an Assistant to the SLT who will carry out a broad range of duties, from working with the CEO on external affairs and diary management through to being involved in all aspects of Board meetings and looking after the ISM’s offices. You will be comfortable working at a senior level liaising with a wide range of people from Board members to politicians and have excellent interpersonal skills and great attention to detail. You will be proactive, a great problem solver, trustworthy and committed. 

You will be joining a professional staff team who are based in Bayswater, London. The role is for 28 hours per week and we envisage that you will work four days per week, three of which will be in the office.

The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the joint directors of development and engagement (D&E), and director of policy and strategy (P&S). The Trust is delighted to be recruiting for a HR Manager to join our passionate enthusiastic Team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations the post holder will be responsible for all HR related matters and ensure that Managers can develop to their full potential by upskilling, coaching and providing advice.

The HR Manager is a newly created position reflecting the growth in Trust activities over recent years and the need for a dedicated resource to ensure Trust needs are met as we continue to grow and evolve. GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.

CARA’s CEO is responsible for leading and developing CARA, taking overall responsibility for the operational and financial management, generating income, working closely with the board of trustees to achieve CARA’s strategic and budgetary aims, whilst ensuring compliance with statutory, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

The main responsibilities of the CEO are:

Strategic leadership

·Work with the Board of Trustees and the Head of Operations, and consult with staff, survivors, and others, to develop and define a clear, strong vision and direction for the future of the organisation.

·Lead on and be responsible for the creation, ongoing development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic, business and annual plans.

• To keep up-to-date with current developments affecting victims and survivors of sexual violence and ensure that CARA responds appropriately to these developments.
• To be the chief spokeswoman for CARA, responding to media and other enquiries as appropriate and playing a pro-active role in bringing relevant issues to the attention of the public, issuing press releases and initiating debate, as appropriate.
• Build, support and oversee strong relationships with individuals and organisations across the voluntary, public and private sectors, and in local and national government.
• To contribute to Rape Crisis England and Wales campaigns and other campaigns, as appropriate.
• To remain informed of national and regional Rape Crisis perspectives, drawing on Rape Crisis England and Wales expertise and resources as appropriate.

Organisational management

·Ensure policies and processes that support good communication, staff health and well-being, and safe and effective delivery of work are in place and adhered to throughout the organisation.

·Take overall responsibility for the staff team, its management and performance.

About Synergy Essex

CARA is part of Synergy Essex – the Essex Rape and Sexual Abuse Partnership. We work with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Synergy Essex also shares a number of other projects, funded by the Ministry of Justice, Essex County Council and the National Lottery Community Fund.

Our current PFCC contract ends in March 2025.  Synergy Essex intends to submit a bid for the new contract, which is expected to be put out to tender in the summer of 2024.

Management of Direct Payment Support Service

• Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.

Made in Hackney started life in 2012 as a community cookery school working across London with the mission of tackling the climate crisis, health inequalities and bringing communities together using the power of plants. We are seeking a highly motivated and strategically minded individual to become our Head of Operations and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will have experience working in a senior role in the areas of operations, HR and governance. You will help the charity comply with health and safety requirements, safeguarding best practice and data protection and lead in developing organisational policies. 

You will have a passion and flair for improving operational processes and efficiency, administering CRMs, and monitoring and evaluation to ensure we operate most effectively. You will not shy away from problem-solving operational challenges and thrive in supporting the core team (of 10 staff) to ensure the smooth running and ongoing development of the organisation. We appreciate you may not have all the experience outlined in each category below but if you excel in a few key areas please still apply.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• Be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind the strategic plan

• Contribute to strategic discussions on the future path of the organisation; providing oversight on key initiatives as required as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

• Proactively participate in and/or lead team meetings to ensure effective communication and mutual support

• Provide lead support to the Board of Trustees, assisting the Chair with trustee meetings, keeping the Charity Commission website updated, and assisting with trustee recruitment, induction and training, board reviews etc;

• Act as the lead staff team representative on the Resource & Remuneration board sub-committee

HR & Training 

• Lead the organisation’s HR function ensuring  employment practice is legally compliant and fair, with a focus on being a fully inclusive employer;

• Keep abreast of the latest guidance in employment law and HR legislation, acting as the lead liaison with Croner external HR support;

• Act as MIH’s Lead for:
  Safeguarding - conducting regular reviews of safeguarding policy,  procedures and regular training for staff, trustees and volunteers and completing; 
  Data Protection - ensuring Data Protection Policy review and organisation-wide compliance and responding to any data incidents or breaches;
  Training - overseeing staff/volunteer/trustee training and lead on implementing staff wellbeing initiatives eg. socials, team building days etc;

• Oversee monthly staff salary payment and coordinate with external payroll provider; 

• Responsible for regular organisation-wide policy, procedure and risk assessment reviews

• Oversee any organisational structure reviews and ensure a system is in place for staff to receive regular and motivational feedback, and feel supported and able to perform their role;

Salesforce Admin
To be the main point of contact for core users' technical support and training needs, and to develop the Salesforce platform to improve organisational efficiency, relationship management and income generation. Intensive training will be provided to support this role.

• Act as the system administrator and manage admin functions including assigning new users, creating reports, dashboards, surveys, application forms etc;

• Onboard and train new users, and grow the level of expertise among the core team;

• Implement custom features when new work streams/programmes are set up and as organisational needs grow;

• Oversee support partnerships with external technical support and training providers.

• Support the Head of Fundraising & Communications and Community Programmes Manager with the creation of reports and dashboards in salesforce to present programme outcomes for funder and trustee reports and the MIH Annual Report;

• App Integration – use apps such as Mailchimp and 123 Form Builder (survey software) and integrate with Salesforce

Venue Management 
MIH has a part-time Venue Manager who is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the ‘Liberty Hall’ kitchen venue. The Head of Operations  will oversee them and support key areas of venue management in the following ways:

• Manage relationship with venue partner ‘Clapton Commons’ to ensure key services of venue are running smoothly and represent MIH in oversight committee meetings; 

• Ensure venue and office equipment is safe to use and repaired/replaced/PAT tested on time;

• Ensure the venue meets the latest Health & Safety requirements, Fire Safety Standards and is fully accessible;

• Support acquisition of new kitchen equipment when required, such as ovens, hobs etc either from a donated source or purchased from a supplier;

Finance

• Organise quarterly budget meetings between the core delivery team and Finance Manager to review budget and expenditure; 

• Ensure the finance team understands the requirements and deadlines of board meetings and provide reminders to them for preparing the required financial reporting.

Line Management

• Line management responsibility for 3 direct reports, creating a supportive environment for growth and development

This new role will work across varied charity management projects to help set up a new UK office for a fast growing medical INGO that has already treated over 13 million patients across Africa!

It will include leading on a broad range of projects that support the set up and management of the UK registered office and will require working autonomously while being part of an experienced and supportive team. Role Context

ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable.  We need someone reliable who enjoys and has a proven track record of leading and delivering on operational projects for a business or charity while working with senior stakeholders. They should be a highly organised self-starter who is able to work autonomously and lead on projects as well as a great team player.

The role is varied and has a significant financial element, so strong numerical skills and good written communication skills are both important as well as a flexible, responsible approach. Ideally they will also have experience of, and good knowledge of, the charity sector in the UK.

This role is posted as a one year contract as the needs of the business are changing as the organisation develops. At the end of the year the needs of ALIMA will be reviewed and there may be scope to further shape the role, depending on the needs of the business and funding available at the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Driving and implementing a varied range of projects that support the smooth set-up of the UK charity, in collaboration with the UK Head of Development 
• Virtual Office Management, including organising cloud based filing systems, managing resources including IT, coordinating information collection 

 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Development & Chair to create and develop new financial management systems for the charity
• Ongoing management of the financial systems of the charity including bookkeeping, invoice management and basic reporting
• Working with colleagues to produce financial reports for the Board, donors and others on request

EVENT & PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATION 

• Coordination of small events
• Organising and coordinating staff and trustee visits to the UK and overseas 

SUPPORTING SENIOR STAKEHOLDERS 

• Organise UK board meetings including booking venues, finalising and circulating papers, minute taking
• Copywriting

PERSON SPECIFICATION

REQUIRED 

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working for a UK-based charity in an administrative, executive support, finance, fundraising or project management role 
• Strong project management skills: a track record of successfully driving small to medium-sized projects
• Strong numerical skills, including experience reporting on or managing budgets, producing management accounts or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills 
• Excellent organisational skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload to meet deadlines
• Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders including Senior level staff, donors and volunteers
