We are seeking a Finance Officer with a keen eye for detail, and an aptitude for learning new skills, to take on purchase ledger and payroll administration duties in our Finance Department.   You will have either begun on the path of attaining a financial qualification or had some experience in a similar role.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all purchases, payments and returns, including supplier invoices, staff payments (salaries, expenses and advances), project and contractor payments and credit card transactions.  Responsible for project reporting against budget.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• Ownership of the purchase ledger system, administering the entire process of invoice receiving, checking, coding, distributing for approval, posting to the accounts software (currently Sage), setting up domestic and international payments for authorisation, and electronic filing of documents.
• Administering all credit card returns including distribution of statements to colleagues, checking and coding returns, collating documents, submitting for line-manager approval, posting to Sage and following up on outstanding items.
• Administering staff and contractors expense claims, advances, returns and funds transfer requests, including checking and coding, submitting for budget-holder approval, arranging payment both domestic and international, and electronic filing of documents.
• Recording project expenditure against budget and drafting project financial returns to meet funder deadlines.

Essential criteria (full criteria listed in the application pack):

• Either started on a financial qualification or have had experience in a similar role
• Exposure to SAGE Line50 or other accounting package.
• Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Previous experience of using accounting software.
• Good team working and relationship-building skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Must have the right to reside and work in the United Kingdom.

Summary of the role:

The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Senior HR Business Partner and the wider People and Culture team in the delivery of HR services. The role will focus on a range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, aspects of payroll, L&D, travel logistics and other generalist HR duties. A key part of the role will be to provide support in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet all Muslim Aid’s staffing needs.  

About the Role:

1. Ensure a smooth, efficient and welcoming onboarding and probation process for new employees.  
2. Facilitate the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers in meeting departmental needs. Responsibilities include crafting job descriptions, posting ads, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
3. Provide advice and guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures.
4. Prepare payroll amendment sheets for UK and International staff.
5. Assist with performance management processes and employee relations issues.
6. Support HR analytics requirements to track performance metrics.

To be successful in this role you will need:

1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in a generalist HR role, in particular recruitment and employee relations.

Role Summary

This position provides key support for the policy and research functions of the charity, in addition to collaborating on campaigns and public affairs work. You will be responsible for carrying out primary research relevant to the charity’s policy and research functions. You’ll be monitoring and collating new policy and research materials and contributing to public communications including report-writing, blog posts and social media activity. You’ll be providing input into strategic planning regarding policy and research activities. You’ll connect with researchers and policy people from other charities and from universities. Finally, you’ll be attending conferences and meetings on behalf of the charity.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Policy

• Support the P&RM, DR&PA and CEO in responding to public consultations, advising policymakers and working with national policy and research bodies as appropriate.

• Represent the charity in meetings with policy partners where appropriate.

• Attend policy and research conferences on behalf of the charity, providing feedback to the team on key learning and opportunities that arise.

• Work with the SC&PA and DR&PA to draw up influencing strategies to target key stakeholders on policy priorities.

• Monitor external research that helps our policy work and opportunities for collaboration.

• Work with the SC&PA  to engage campaigners in our policy work.

Research

• Work with the P&RM to carry out research activities relevant to the policy and research functions of the charity; including collating and analysing data, and co-authoring reports for both internal and public purposes.

• Work with the P&RM and the Communications and Marketing teams to produce engaging and accessible communication of research findings for a range of audiences. 

• Monitor and collate new policy and research materials, including research reports, policy documents and media activity. Work with the P&RM to produce internal reports where appropriate and to ensure the charity’s activities reflect and respond to the wider policy and research environment.

• Work with the P&RM on external research projects funded by the charity, including support with assessing the quality of bids by external researchers. 

Across both areas

• Produce social media communications where relevant to policy and research. Work with colleagues across the Research and Public Affairs and Communications and Marketing teams to develop strategies for maximising impact, especially in digital communications.

• Contribute to strategic planning by contributing to staff meetings, producing supporting materials and providing feedback on public affairs.

The postholder will also be expected to:

• attend training courses and develop skills as required, sharing learning with other staff as relevant

• in unusual circumstances, work weekend and / or evening hours, for which time in lieu will be given

• undertake other reasonable work as requested by the P&RM.

About the role 

Dementia UK is currently seeking a Database Officer to lead on the delivery of processes within the Database Services team.

As Database officer, your primary responsibility will be managing a substantial volume of data files, from a variety of sources seamlessly importing this information into our fundraising database. You will handle supporter data ensuring a high level of accuracy, while being directly responsible for running the majority of data imports as well as handling enquires coming into the Database Services shared inbox and running regular data cleansing routines.

In addition, you will be expected to maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed. Working with the Supporter Care, Finance, and Fundraising teams to ensure income is accurately coded across all fundraising streams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and will bring previous experience in using databases for data entry, maintenance, and importation. A high level of computer literacy is essential, and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required. Role Description

This new role of Programme Officer (Social Change) will play an integral part in ensuring our grant making has the best possible impact. Working with the Programme Manager (Social Change) and the wider Impact Team, you will be the first point of contact for potential grant applicants and deliver effective processes that ensure that anyone who applies to us for funding has a positive experience, whether they are successful or not. You will lead on all aspects of administering our Social Change grant calls and provide the rest of the team with the information needed to support robust and transparent decision-making. You will also be involved in events for our applicants and will work with colleagues to continually refine and improve our grant making processes.

Role Responsibilities:

Administering grant processes:

· Working with the Programme Manager (Social Change) to update application and guidance forms for each funding round

· Work closely with colleagues to set up the grant call in our online grant management system.

· Provide guidance to potential applicants and respond to their queries, e.g. about eligibility.

· Work with colleagues who run the research funding programme to ensure that opportunities for efficiencies and shared processes are maximised

· Process grant applications, ensuring that we adhere to the highest standards of grant making

· Assist with the preparation of papers to support our decision-making processes, including supporting our Social Change Grants Assessment Panel (SGAP) by ensuring they have all relevant information and that the meetings run smoothly.

· Following final decision, ensure that terms and conditions and award letters are sent to successful applicants and ensure a smooth transition of projects to the Programme Manager (Social Change) who will manage the active projects.

Event support and attendance

· Assist with the organisation and delivery of in person and online meetings and events, e.g. a feedback session for unsuccessful applicants.

· Assist with the organisation of visits relating to the social change funding programme, e.g. helping put together briefing documents, supporting with arrangements and highlighting opportunities for stories and impact with communications colleagues.

Team support:

· Provide support to the wider Impact team where required, e.g. working with the finance team on the processing of invoices.

· Assisting the team in keeping accurate and up to date records, including on the online grants management system and ensure that all relevant records are readily and easily available

Skills, knowledge & experience

Essential 

· Health or social sciences degree or with experience of working in grant making or similar

· Experience of working in an office/ administrative environment, ideally as part of a hybrid team

· Proficient in the use of standard IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

· Experience of working in a research or grant making organisation.

· Experience of working with committees, ideally with a health, research or charitable giving remit.

· Experience using online grant management systems.

The End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW) is looking for a Communications Officer to help drive forward our campaigning to end violence against women in all its forms.

The last few years have seen a huge increase in awareness of violence against women and girls, and support for our work. With this crucial human rights issue on the public and political agenda like never before, now is the time to disrupt the status quo and lay the foundations for a different world. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

EVAW’s communications officer will help inform the public and media stakeholders about violence against women and girls (VAWG), influence narratives about this abuse and inspire change.

Responsibilities include growing our online presence and media profile, creating engaging (audio)visual content and writing accessible and informative press releases, web pieces, social media posts and more.

The postholder will have an eye for design and a finger on the pulse of current trends, with strong written skills, a commitment to accessibility, and an understanding of social change and the UK’s media landscape.

You are likely to have some experience in a communications, media or campaigns context, working on VAWG or another human rights/equalities issue, and will be seeking an opportunity to work in a highly impactful, agile and dynamic feminist organisation.

Whether practical or academic, paid or voluntary, a background in VAWG will of course be an asset. You’ll need to show us you have a good understanding of VAWG, can communicate complex issues with clarity and impact, and are committed to intersectional feminism. We’re looking for a proactive Community Engagement Officer with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude who is willing to learn, grow and take ownership of this newly created and unique role.

You’ll be a warm and friendly communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be excited about raising support and awareness for SSR’s work with those affected by scoliosis.

As the Community Engagement Officer, working with the Community Engagement Manager you will manage relationships with regular donors and support individuals to fundraise effectively for SSR as well as thanking fundraisers and donors.

You will work with the Community Engagement Manager to support our wider fundraising efforts by providing administrative support.

A significant part of your role will be to respond to Helpline enquiries, either by phone or email. You will be the first point of contact.  Training will be given on this.

You will also handle liaising and looking after our members and processing new membership applications.

You’ll work closely with the Community Engagement Manager on any events. The yearly ‘Scoliosis Awareness Day’ event, along with the Zorab Symposium which takes place every three years and any patient meetings that take place.

You will need to be able to travel to the office at least one day a week.  Days worked can be agreed to suit the successful candidate.

You will need database experience. We use E Tapestry, but Raisers Edge or other charity database experience is relevant.

There is scope to take greater responsibility across all areas of the job description depending on your experience and personal development ambitions and there may be scope for increased hours as the role progresses.
